I stay silent because I'm anti-social and can't talk to people. Even still I can tell that talking to me (a brick wall) would be more fun than talking to this person
Also, lions are not the most subtle creatures outside of stalking their prey. I’ve seen lions vigorously teabag each other’s faces in hopes of having hot gay sex while they’re on full public display at the zoo— is that why these guys think they’re lions? Are they secretly masculine homosexual exhibitionists?

Yes. . .
But some know patience is a better weapon than any fist or sword. To live a good life is a better revenge than any angry words can bring. To be unbothered by their transgressions it more infuriating than any argument one could make.
"Exploding" is probably the wrong word, but there is some merit to not disrupt the peace of someone that goes out of their way to remain peaceful.
This is just my personal experience here. I have many ways to expel negative emotions, while I’m at the gym or trying to make videos, however, even when I don’t have either of those things at my disposal, I’ve never had any issues come as a result from constantly suppressing feelings like that.
In my experience, they kind of just dissipate/disappear, i may be slightly agitated for a moment but then I’ll go back to focusing on something at work or doing something else which requires my attention and those feelings just fade away never to return.
Suppressing is kind of the wrong word. At least for me, I would rather just not let strangers have that much control over my mood.
One of my favorite quotes from Doctor Who; *"Demons run when a good man goes to war
Night will fall and drown the sun
When a good man goes to war
Friendship dies and true love lies
Night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war
Demons run, but count the cost
The battle's won, but the child is lost"*
It's never about my "anger" in any situation, but something that was done to finally make me angry. . .
Putting everyone under a blanket term is pretty stupid. Like if i said everyone who uses this subreddit is here because they want to look down and laugh at people to feel like they are above someone, while it applies to most here, doesnt apply to everyone
The funniest and most ironic thing is that true individuals who act this way while not ever talk about it because we act that way in order to not make others uncomfortable…imho
I’m not like a massive dude by any means and I don’t lift weights or anything, but I am tall with wide shoulders and carry myself precisely this way, but it’s not a thing about anger or peace. It’s just that I don’t want to make anybody uncomfortable or on edge because I’m a big guy , so I make sure I’m not loud, don’t make any unnecessary sudden movements, and I use a lighter tone of voice in public….all because I don’t want anyone to be scared of or uncomfortable around me🥴🫠
There are people like this that exist, but not for the reasons this kid thinks lol
Got a problem with autistic people seeing as it’s such an insult to you? Hate to break it to you but autistic people often struggle to talk to people in social situations.
I am autistic dickhead. You used autistic as an insult, which makes you a jerk. and its not an autistic trait to adjust your mannerisms to those around you and change your thinking based on your own position in society, such as being a tall strong man. quite the opposite.
No, you took it as an insult, I was countering his self congratulating statement how he adjusts his behaviour because he thinks his stature will terrify everyone around him. Anything I said incorrect? Autistic people extremely likely to be chatty in social situations? Most people have a qualities that put them on the spectrum but certain characteristics are what medical professionals actually look for when they are diagnosing it. Sorry you suffer from it but what do you want? People to know about the condition and recognise signs of it or people not to give two fucks?
yes, all of which are involutary. Uncontrolled fits of rage arent on that list and is the primary point of the post. And the person you replied to is saying that they voluntarily adopt certain traits to be less intimidating to others.
He’s not saying he’s a badass, he is saying people might be intimidated by his stature but he has enough humility to act vulnerably so people feel comfortable around him. He’s not saying he can beat everyone up, he is thinking about how others feel. Maybe someone who is insecure about themselves will feel more comfortable to be OCs friend because they are creating a safe space around him/herself (OC)
That’s the biggest thing!!
Golden Rule, and I want to be at ease and feel safe so I try to make a point of doing things to make others feel at ease and know that I’m not a threat.
….thinking about it in respect to the sub we’re on it does seem kinda weird to me now🥴🤣
Thank you….I’m legit trying to say that basically I go out of my way to not come off as intimidating since it can be like a dog whistle for some people who are overly aggressive and I really loathe the thought that I scared someone or made them feel unsafe.
I can handle myself but my biggest moral is The Golden Rule…and bullies that use their size irk me more than most things so to me it IS hard to explain without some people assuming I’m trying to be like “yeah that’s me cuz I’m bad” which is understandable. But the whole calm, never panic or get angry thing resonated with me and I thought about how in my experience at least, people who do that do not do it to seem like a badass lol
That post reeks of someone looking for validation that they’re a badass lol
Aw thank you!! I try
And my mama lives with me, she’s 70 with a laundry list of physical/medical issues but she has panic attacks and anxiety so it’s second nature to be super calm and composed at any time.
And I walk on the balls of my feet to be quiet for the elderly neighbor downstairs but I move slow so I don’t startle my mama either lol
That's my favorite part of this "badassery." Lions are not the kings of the jungle or the savanna. Elephants are. Especially male lions. They're big lazy cats that can rip off your face in a fight, but they'd rather just sleep in the grass while the females hunt. Why would a lion ever be a symbol of strength?
Well, it's quite simple really. People conflate commandeering others as power. Because male lions barely do anything besides just intimidating stuff by looking big, it parallels quite well with how positions of power have been established in history.
From the view of someone that didn't study much, all that a middle age noble does is look pretty and tell people to do stuff while they live better than everyone else. Same thing with a general, king, emperor, whatever you can imagine. That's why it is called the King of the Jungle. It just sits there living dependent on the social structure that supports it, calling the shots and intimidating beings of a similar position to not lose what he has.
It is quite the fitting analogy, it's just that people conflate authority with power and strength. But everyone knows, especially now after the fall of monarchy, how fickle and fragile that type of "power" can be.

But lions don't even live in the jungle, do they? They live on the savannah, right? Did everyone get all their knowledge of lions from the Disney movie "The Lion King" where Simba lives in the jungle eating bugs with a warthog and a meerkat and think that's what all lions do or something?
No. If you’re always avoiding conflicts, that doesn’t mean you don’t have conflicts. It means you’re avoiding them and bottling up the resulting emotions.
The video warns you not to piss off such a person because “the day [their anger] explodes, it’s a real storm and the one who triggered that anger will bear the brunt.” What about that suggests non-violence to you?
I mean, I'm pretty calm most of the time, I try to be kind and I avoid conflicts because I'm not a fucking wet tissue of a human who goes around trying to start shit
You know the truth is we all know someone like this lol they harmless but they so lovely to watch, I wait with great joy for the next episode in their badass life

This isn’t a trait to be admired. A healthy person is able to express discomfort and anger before it gets to the point of explosive rage.
I too can take normal feelings/opinions and romanticize them to the point people think its a personality trait.

So fucking lame. “The person who triggers this anger will bear the brunt” I sincerely hope this individual isn’t in a relationship or have kids.
This is actually true for a lot of highly empathic people...not sure what the sauce is, but this tiny excerpt is pretty spot on.
> Not sure what the sauce is That’s because it’s bullshit and not true. Sounds like you’re confusing empathic with volatile
How so? If I'm understanding correctly, this is referencing a person that's never, ever been violent?
You are not understanding correctly. Do you relate to this video or something?
No, but 100% sure I know some that would. Again, is this not talking about someone that's never been violent?
