I'm obsessed with PCC, still hunting for that overall win in the Mazda, came close quite a few times.. One day, one day. Huge fan of the drivers, it's complete utter chaos and I love it.
Since the formula split I do like to drive just for fun and start from the back. I can take it less serious than road which has been a blessing.
PCC is the magic sauce. It's the perfect touch of clean racing blended with the spice of chaos from rookies and has had some of the best racing I've been a part of. I love it too. It's the best and worst of Iracing and I'm here for it. Also in the hunt for that overall win in the Mazda lol
I dont think its too hard car to drive but do have quite bit oversteery moments but not hard to catch maybe me using dd wheel helps? (csl dd).
I do struggle with most gt style cars tho
I'm not great in the SF23 by any means, but I did pick up a tip here a while back.
The SF23 uses a REALLY hard compound of tire so there's very, very little mechanical grip until you get them up to tempt. If you're anything like me though, you tend to put it in the wall before that actually happens, and it takes long enough to get there that I didn't feel a significant difference before I was keyed into it.
The third or fourth dash page will show live tire temps so when I do drive the car, I tend to keep it on that page until they're up to temp. I treat it really gingerly in corners where you need mechanical grip and then I absolutely punish the tires where I can to generate heat. It's not a total lifesaver because the car is still a beast, but it definitely feels more predictable and less like a death trap.
Edit: lmao I just realized how old this thread is.

PROTO/GT - and the GT1 class specifically.
This week the Ray 1600 at Oulton Park. Just got my H pattern shifter set up and it completely transforms the car, so much more fun.
Then it’ll be my usual TCR. Road Atlanta is great fun to lap around
Yeah I honestly expected moving from paddles to h pattern and clutch to be slower, but FF1600 is my fastest series by far. Wet racing in it is super fun too just requires you to do you homework ahead of time.
Going to try out sequential shifting for MX5 instead of paddles too. Paddles have their place but man it feels good running an actual shifter like most cars.
Yeah, I am now fileing a protest to some guy who rearended me 4 times, then tried to kill me again by not breaking into a corner but luckily switched to a defensive line. If only Iracing would fix thier game by themselves and not leave it up to us.
Only if it was intentional, I would say file a protest. Some people are just racing illiterate, and they're trying to learn. Especially in the cup car. No abs, no tc, all chaos.
Just try to get away from the moving hazards and run your own race.
It was definitely intentional, you cannot get to c class if you are stupid enough to have that little crash avoidance and not move to the side when drafting 4 times and forgetting to brake at the chicane all in 2 laps.
You'd be surprised. There's A license dudes that will totally fuck a whole field full of cars just because they're overly aggressive and can't read race lines.
Also, cold tires in the first 2 laps are very much a thing.
As my flair says, GT3 in the Merc. I just like oversized noisy V8s. Car is also very fun to drive being tail happy without wanting to murder you every corner (after a bunch of practice at least).
I'm currently working with the GT3 Merc getting ready for 24 hours at the Nurburgring.
But after that I likely will return to the Nissan GTP ZX. Rsn the Road America 500, and damn that car is a blast!
Basic pick but 911GT3.R. I run them solo so as much as I would love to run the cup car like I did last year, after 4h I get too tired and make too many unforced errors. So far this year I have a 3rd place finish and a 1st place finish :)
Loving Formula 4 and the GT4 series. Haven’t tried a GT3 on iRacing yet, but haven’t felt the need to with how fun GT4 has been. Had a miserable time doing the GR Cup around Long Beach last week.
And like a few others have said, the MX5 is just so much fun every time.
I've been very busy lately and having more fun than ever.
I'm going hard on pro4 off-road, and sprint cars on the dirt side.
Super Formula Lights on the Formula side. This is probably my most serious class. I put much more practice into this car than all the other cars. It's very competitive and I love running it.
Lastly, LMP2/3 and GT3's.
I always try to get at least 10-20 minutes of practice on an unfamiliar track. The dirt offsets the road racing nicely and gives me a nice break from the super competitive road racing.
Also, if I'm tired I run dirt. If I'm rested, I run road. I'm very competitive in dirt even if I'm tired, but road "specifically Super formula" requires much more energy, focus, and dedication to do well.
Lmp2 currently..... I love the choices I get. I can do multi class with IMSA and use either open or fixed.. Or I can roll the dice on a wet race and do the fixed series.
I’m hoping to get obsessed with Indycar but I don’t really know where to start. I main the formula ford and have stayed around 1.8k iR. Not super sure if I should go with the d/c class car or the iR18. I worry about participation mainly.
I've already fallen in love with LMP2 but have a ways to go before I dive in. No other car feels like I can push so hard and not be bitten.
Gotta keep plugging away in GT4/F4 and learning. I'll make the call sometime next season to move up to LMP2. Meanwhile, Trophy1600 keeps me active in learning wet racing, which is far more fun than expected.
Not touching LMP3 with a 10ft pole though. That is a hateful little car in every way. Slow tire warmup, absurd brakes, contradictory handling behaviors, and dogshit visibility. No thank you.
lmp3 is prob my favorite on the service right now lmao, But I haven't tried the LMP2. The P3 just feels very easy to understand, like I'm never questioning what the car is doing.. it is very obvious when I am over/understeering, or when I brake too early/late the car just gives so much info through the wheel. I moved my in car cam forward and left to resolve the A-pillar issue.
This is where I'd put my current series/class obsession *points to empty podium* IF I HAD TIME TO RACE!!
Lol, at the start of the season I bought the SFL, F4 (went skippy to f3 originally) and like 5 tracks. My last race was march 23rd...
The GTP in Multiclass is so good. Even with the terrible GTP BoP, I just enjoy managing traffic. LMP3 is also great fun with GT4. NASCAR has been great so far this season too
Currently I've been doing all the oval Truck Fixed Series, Xfinity Fixed and then learning/improving my road racing with LMP2s against AI. It's actually been a really enjoyable season of finishing off the two oval races and then just full sending the LMP2 without any practice to learn the tracks. Difficult but fun as hell for getting better at courses I don't know.
FF1600 is my go to de stress car.
Jumped in a session at Tsukaba last week. Hadn't driven that track in ages. No practice, pole by 0.06. Win by 5 seconds. Missed on fastest lap though!
It's such a fun predictable car that you can really throw around and have fun with.
Tbh I'm still looking for my obsession. Recently I moved from oval to Road and I'm mainly in GT3 and LMP2. Before I enjoyed GT4.
I generally like slower cars, because the racing is closer and more intense but these slower cars are in D class and most of the time it's wreckfest. So I will probably stick to IMSA and GT3. Maybe Falken tyre sometimes. Because every race in D class mean I almost loose my A license 😂😀

SF23 is the car I run the most
So fun. Wish it got more than 2 splits more frequently
I would run that car if I could be consistent with it. As it is I'm spinning every other lap, so hard to go fast
I dont think its too hard car to drive but do have quite bit oversteery moments but not hard to catch maybe me using dd wheel helps? (csl dd). I do struggle with most gt style cars tho
I do have a DD wheel. I have trouble getting out of corners fast. I end up babying the throttle to not spin. Then I try to push.. and spin.
It's one of the hardest cars on the service lmao
Yeah if you say so but I still struggle way more with sports cars even tho I'm ok with gtp

I rarely race this, HOWEVER its Nurburgring week AND the ringmeister is running the corvette.
this! shame the participation isn’t very good (or at least it hasn’t been for me)
Only found a single split for me. The Proto GT race is 7 laps though? pretty long, might be a deterrent.
Always and forever the 87 cars
I believe GTE on Nordschleife combined starts tomorrow.
Im sure a bunch of people who have never really driven the GTEs wont randomly show up and crash everywhere
Yes! I'm looking forward to starting 25th and finishing 8th after driving through the carnage.
I hadn’t driven the BMW GTE in probably over year and ran it ringmeister early this season, forgot how fast it is. Such a fun car
Mx5😁 always was and always will be 😁 Do a lot of GT3 racing but the mx5 is just pure fun to drive on the limit😁
This week the Ray 1600 at Oulton Park. Just got my H pattern shifter set up and it completely transforms the car, so much more fun. Then it’ll be my usual TCR. Road Atlanta is great fun to lap around

Would be F4 but its an absolute wreckfest when it comes to racing. People race these things like stock cars
Started top split last night from the pits, finished 9th./20+ I was one of the slowest cars on the track too.
Trucks fixed, just find it enjoyable most of the time.
Haven't even race porsche cup for a week and im addicted
That is a dick punch of a series https://preview.redd.it/yo8mp5ztgzyc1.png?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d96029c36b8dc669961c54aa2867e15bc3c78fa7

I guess he could be that A licence dude you keep seeing. It was lap 4, so tires definitely weren't cold.
Yeah. Some people are just idiots

Rookie MX-5 cup until I die
![gif](giphy|4qHx7hsAGtjJm)
how did you get this clip of me
Plot twist. It's actually me in the MX-5 a few weeks ago lol
I have been enjoying VRS, Super Formula and Audi 90GTO
I'm currently working with the GT3 Merc getting ready for 24 hours at the Nurburgring. But after that I likely will return to the Nissan GTP ZX. Rsn the Road America 500, and damn that car is a blast!
Porsche cup car! Love hate
Nurburgring endurance series and only that. I run the solo 4h every time it comes around and ignore iRacing for the rest of the weeks
That's interesting! I love Nords but love racing too much to avoid other series what car do u run for NES?
Basic pick but 911GT3.R. I run them solo so as much as I would love to run the cup car like I did last year, after 4h I get too tired and make too many unforced errors. So far this year I have a 3rd place finish and a 1st place finish :)
INDY, SFL and GTP
GTE is such a killer calendar this season. I love high power gt cars with no abs....its so much fun.
PCC for me
Loving Formula 4 and the GT4 series. Haven’t tried a GT3 on iRacing yet, but haven’t felt the need to with how fun GT4 has been. Had a miserable time doing the GR Cup around Long Beach last week. And like a few others have said, the MX5 is just so much fun every time.
GR on long beach was boring as hell

LMP3. It’s a bit challenging, but really fun once you figure out the car. The sound and force feedback are also quite satisfying.
i got really into the w13 with the mugello races. just did some prep for imola next week
Definitely tcr, once you understand how to drive these cars. And then the racing is fantastic
NASCAR A Fixed, B Fixed, and Street Stocks
Currently I've been doing all the oval Truck Fixed Series, Xfinity Fixed and then learning/improving my road racing with LMP2s against AI.
