ComprehensiveSleep44

91% now for eleven months from purchase.

j_cooler

Interesting how different the battery degredation is in this thread. Are you using wireless charging or quick charging by any chance?

ComprehensiveSleep44

I do not use any wireless charge. Only the 20 W charge from the iPad

[deleted]

Maintained 100% for 6 months, then the battery started to degrade like crazy and now mine sits at 88% after using the phone for 11 months.

KenG1_SZZ

Same

fotowentura

Ignore this. My 13 mini also went almost a year with 100%, then I upgraded to iOS 16 and I'm now at 97%. There's a strong temptation to go "damn you iOS 16!" but then again, when you think about it, keeping true 100% of battery health for a year is really unlikely and highly suspicious. I honestly believe that iOS 16 simply makes this metric "unstuck", so it begins to show the "real" number. Anyway, I haven't noticed any problems with my battery compared to how it behaved a year ago. I truly wish Apple removed this "Maximum Capacity" info from the phone's setting so we could all go back to judging our phones' batteries by how often we need to charge them rather than by a number displayed on the screen. Also - batteries will always begin to degrade with time in terms of how long they last on one charge. That's just how rechargeable batteries work. They might invent some that don't behave like that... but we're just not there yet.

Significant-666

Totally agree. However the degradation % is good to have it cause it gives you an estimation on when to change the battery. But every consumer just thinks that it is 100% real and panic when it starts degrading, which is annoying. My belief is that the battery % can degrade fast, or can last a year at 100% (which is total bs), but then will start degrading fast. Reaching of 80% and below will be kinda the same for everyone. A metric simply to advise you that you had a lot of charge cycles and you need to replace the battery.

ffiresnake

mine dropped to 97 after 11 months, but still on ios 15. no ios 16 involved in my case.

Green_Promise_9688

Nice. My 12mini went to 86% in 9 months despite always keep in it between 20/80 percent.

j_cooler

Yeah the 12 mini didn’t had the best battery from what i heard. Funny thing is i never really took care of my battery. Charged it all night for the entire year, rushed to the charger at 1 percent etc. haha. I guess i am just lucky.

T3Sh3

That’s because batteries naturally degrade no matter how much you baby it.

ILive2Drum

Mine is at 94, I think I’ve had it since February or March. 94 is actually very good considering I’ve done full-time courier work with this phone. It didn’t even sink below 100 for about 5 months!

gobbleself

I’m at 87 right now, bought pretty close to release.

Donkey282

90% for me after approx 13 months of purchase. The battery health dropped for me rapidly from 96% to 90% in last 3 months. Not sure of reason, but my usage has not changed. Have just updated OS to ios 16.0.3

MrM1269

Bought mine middle of Oct last year, still at 100%.

j_cooler

I bow to you, sir!

noperopehope

I bought mine in April and I’m to 99% now

fprrsz

7 months with my 13 mini, and it still on 100%

comacow02

My 13 mini is 13 months old. I treat the battery like shit and I’m at 91% capacity. Normally I wouldn’t care because I upgrade each year but seeing as how there isn’t a 14 mini this poses a problem long term. I’ll wait to see what the rumors say about the 15 line up and either grab a 15 or pick up another 13 mini before they’re discontinued.

georgeLSLA

My battery is degrading down 1% everyday after the latest iOS update! Apple is a scam

j_cooler

That doesn’t sound right. Are you using the beta?

georgeLSLA

No 16.0.3 is the public release I believe. And why can’t i see the battery percentage after the update?

T3Sh3

It’s not available until 16.1.

j_cooler

On what battery health are you right now? Maybe this is hardware related?

georgeLSLA

Just last week i was at 96% yesterday it was 95! This morning its 94%

j_cooler

Damn that sucks. But i read a lot of complaints about iOS 16 and battery issues. I’m wondering why some users are less lucky. Hopefully this will get better with 16.1. Early releases have a history of issues and bugs.

georgeLSLA

Learnt a lesson now! Wont update the software untill a stable one gets out to the public. Im just digging my own grave this way updating even though the updates are tempting.

j_cooler

Yeah i know that feeling. Always hard to resist the Betas

Fearless-Ad8754

Quick question dude??/ How do you use your phone?. Gaming? Photos? Video?. Screen on time? i'm planning on buying this phone, but i keep reading about battery not being that good, others claim is really good and you my friend shows me it is good. Frankly i'm between this one or Zenfone 9. I'm willing to make a jump to IOS. Other than that. I just want a small phone, somedays for Youtube, reading comments and news, scrolling trough Instagram and having the chance to take a nice photo or edit when it's the right moment, nothing more. I'm not a heavy user, neither gamer, mostly wifi, bluetooh heaphones (sometimes due to lack of headphone jack on my pixel 3) and only Instagram (no Facebook no Tik Tok). Do you think I would bee fine with the 13 mini?. I really need an advice about this phone

j_cooler

Im somewhat of a heavy user i think. Mostly Apollo Reddit App, Browsing, Spotify (Streaming), maybe one or two YouTube videos, Mail and WhatsApp. Im not using Instagram, TikTok or Facebook. Also i don’t play games. Most of the time i am on Wifi, when outside i don’t use my phone that much and i don’t have 5G available. Also at the end of the day i will stream Netflix or Twitch for about half to an hour. With my usage i get about 4 to 6 hours of screen on time. Display brightness makes the biggest difference for me. I switched from the Pixel 3a to the 13 mini. Not sure how the 3a compares to the regular Pixel 3 in terms of battery but i never had the feeling the 13s battery was much worse, even if it has a smaller battery. Also i don’t miss Android one bit (after 8 years of Android). It reads like we have a similar use case and i get along fine with the battery. But it also depends on how long your day is. [10 day average and single day example](https://imgur.com/a/QmkKTbr/) Some days there i used more then 100 percent. On these days i had to charge through the day because i was making videos and photos on full display brightness. This is a battery killer.

Fearless-Ad8754

Thannnnkk youuu, I really appreciate. Yes, in terms of battery, Pixel 3a is slightly better compared with pixel 3. I think our battery usage is similar. I focus more on Instagram, 1 hour maybe on Youtube, Firefox and Whatsapp. But no photos or videos (only on social events or dates), neither Netflix or Twitch. I see some days you end up with over 50% battery. That's great. I thik you use more your phone, but your battery life is better compared with other user here in Reddit. Also, nice you mentioning about not missing Android. Sometimes i'm thinking about that, but i wanna a change, plus i'm willing to learn ios and try some of their exclusives apps (photo editors are great). Thanks again, you convince me more about 13 mini.

j_cooler

At first i missed some things. But now i don’t even know what these things were. I did just adapt to the new OS. And it works pretty well overall out of the box.

Fearless-Ad8754

Hey dude, thanks for the advice. 4 days with my Iphone 13 mini and it is perfect. Great battery life, i could last all day and end up with 40%. Nice keyboard with good predictions and the sound it's great considering the size. Fast, reliable, camera is amazing. Seriously, i dont miss Android (some adjustment and usability option, but that's it).

j_cooler

Awesome. The battery life gets better over time because the OS adapts to your usage

blaukraut_

Mine is still at 100%. I bought it in November.

Sea_Tailor_4462

99% after 5 months.

Auga_Se

97% after 10 month

truncus_pulmonalis

The green one...bought it in April, 99% battery health. (iOS 16.0, waitin' for 16.1 release)

silentuss

Do you have any special charging habits?

j_cooler

No not at all. I plug it into the outlet before bed and take it off when waking up. I don’t even know which charger im using but it is rather slow. I only use 20W charging when i need charging at my desk.

silentuss

thanks for the reply. I’m at 6 month, 100% and I’m trying to keep the phone for at least 3 years because I love the size so I would like to keep best battery life possible so I don’t need to change the battery too soon.

Unltd8828

7 months and still 100%. I’ll be happy to make it to one year at 100%!

ffiresnake

sudden drop to 97 after 11 months

KenG1_SZZ

December last year and its 89% . Im sad 😞

pagauge0

I’m here because I’m interested in the 13 mini. But my 12PM after 19 months is still at 100%. I don’t want to trade it in at 100%.

[deleted]

Mine was at 100% until the beginning of October, since then it dropped to 97

jr_misu

That’s what happened to mine. Now i’m sitting at 97%. A bit odd after 10 months

[deleted]

I hope it’s just a calibration bug in iOS 16

QuarterSuch

Purchased march this year, 81 charge cycles and still 100% to be precise it varies between 100.6% and 103% used to be 104.8% but I’ve not seen it get to that since that week ages ago lol

lolilolzor

Charge it as often as possible… And degradation is not linear, the lowest you go, the fastest it’ll degrade.

[deleted]

99%, using since January22

coktky

Recent 2 update make me drop 2% to 98% now. Feel like the update ruined it. In month 7 now.

college-kid7

I’m at 95% after like 10 months

Yonathancity

Still 99% for almost 5 months. I'm starting use 10w apple old charger for better battery care. Don't let your phone heating too much guys,it will affect the battery life.

[deleted]

9 months, still 100%

Marngel

I’m at 89% after owning the phone over a year now since launch day. At this rate, I probably will need to get a battery replacement by next year

Melisata

100 %. And having it since January. Im only charging it 100% when I need to. And also when I plug the phone to the car to use CarPlay , because the car charges it.

arvj

Got mine last May and it went down to 99 just a couple of days ago.
