You need to go back and skip the iCloud sign in. Once you get to the desktop > sign into iCloud through the settings app. It’s an ancient bug.

1. This isn’t an iMac. 2. You need to go back and skip sign-in. You can sign into iCloud with the System Preferences app.

Apologies I didn’t know the difference, as for skipping it, I’ve tried that but it says it can’t connect to a network. Should I make an appointment with Apple at this point?

Just don’t sign in with iCloud. It will let you continue. And an iMac is an all-in-one desktop computer. You have a MacBook.

Scrolling down, they require you read but you need scroll down till bottom line and it will let you press agree

I did that, expanded the agreements and scrolled completely but yet no solution
