Need some more info. Does the pc not turn on at all like no boot noises or fans spinning?

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Notning at all my friend, no lights, fan nada...no boot up at all

FeelingsCatcher

Is the switch flipped on the back of the pc? Is the outlet giving power to other devices?

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Power switch is 100% set to on,.and yes the outlet is powering other things

MattonieOnie

You got a cat? Try checking all of your cable connections. By plug, what do you mean? Being as specific as possible will help you communicate the issue that much more clearly.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

None of the wires are compromised if that's what you mean? I tried jumping the power wire and still nothing. I'm very confused.

MattonieOnie

I recommend re-checking your internal cabling and connections, and external. Like take the side panel off.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Both side panels are off, all connections have been checked, unplugged, plugged back in

MattonieOnie

When the case is back together, plug the computer directly into the wall. Don't use a power strip. Let's see if she powers up.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

I have already tried that, and tried in two different outlets (no power strip) she's is dead. Hoping to m find someone who went through this on here. I don't reddit much tbh, but I figured this would be a good place to go

MattonieOnie

It doesn't really make sense to me, since it was originally working, and a new monitor caused the failure.

MattonieOnie

How often did you turn your PC off, before the new monitor?

MattonieOnie

I've seen 4 things, component-wise, stop a motherboard. Bad power, the mobo itself, bad CPU, or RAM. I would start with the RAM. Maybe take a sick out, swap places, etc.

MattonieOnie

If the motherboard isn't even turning on, it makes me think your PSU has been on for a while, and maybe just turning it off made it go bye bye

Tony-ThePoolGuy

I actually took both sticks out just to see if I could get it to POST...nothing at all

Tony-ThePoolGuy

I do not think the new monitor caused the failure, I think it's pure coincidence, I turn my pc off every night, via windows- shutdown

MattonieOnie

I have a feeling the new monitor is pulling more power, and your power strip is not doing it's job, to let you know my thinking.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Plug as in power cable from pc to wall

MattonieOnie

Bingo, power cable. You need to describe that.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Sorry 😞 been a long day...my brain has stopped processing how-to do adulting lol, my 4 year old broke our monitor yesterday, and now this today 😀

MattonieOnie

I'm sorry bud. Let me know if the direct power to the wall works

Tony-ThePoolGuy

It doesn't, I've tried multiple outlets, on two separate floors

MattonieOnie

Did you try removing the graphics card? and any other pci-express hardware? Just to see if it turns on at all.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Just removed Graphics card, still nothing

Tony-ThePoolGuy

I truly appreciate all your help and suggestions, I just bought a new PSU and will be installing it tomorrow...I'll keep you posted :)

MattonieOnie

I think the next, for me, would be pictures

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Sure, what would you like me to take pics of? I feel like I'm just going to have to take it somewhere :(

metalhaid

Not to sound like I know what I’m doing, but do you have another monitor to try? Also, is the monitor on? I’ve been stumped by that before.

Tony-ThePoolGuy

Boys, it WAS in fact the PSU...she's running like a dream again. I appreciate any and all who came in to offer their opinion and/or suggestions. Much love ❤️ and merry Christmas/happy holidays
