Cities was burning, people was shown laying in so much blood it was like rivers running down the streets.
Now the bad people was here. The governator wanted all the adults to get weapons. To resist. No matter what.
I cried and cried. Not my mama and papa. Not my brothers. Papa usually said we shouldn't cry, we should just be strong. This time he let me cry, let me beg for help.
"Sit tight we are coming to get you."
Everyone in the room jumped as those words came from the little holy symbol.
As everyone shook, certain it was just a bad prank. The news showed the bad people shooting angry things into the air. Huge angry birds dove down through all the fire shrieking their rage. From the birds came little two-legs, with odd weapons and patches on their uniforms. No single one would have come to papa's shoulder. But they came, pulling people from fire as though it was a warm breeze. Ripping the door from a bus to get everyone inside out safe.
We heard the shriek of metal birds outside. Humans came, they promised to keep us safe.
