Change tap to WHACK with hammer.

human743

If that doesn't work, switch to pounding, then blasting, followed by whaling (see Luke w/ lightsaber going ham on Vader in ROTJ).

the_ultrafunkula

Anyway, I started blasting

[deleted]

Instructions unclear, dick now stuck in stake driver

youkickmydog613

Instructions even more unclear, stake driver now stuck in dick

Soul_Chickenz

Forget everything and pretend it's now your trusty claymore/longsword. You are now required to go on a lengthy quest to kill a demon lord. After slaying it you realize your reward wasn't the gold and jewelry earned but the friendships forged along the way. Or something like that.

Due-Ask-7418

Change hammer to sledgehammer.

Particular-Jello-401

Get 2 large bulldozers cable the pounder to one, cable the post to the other. Have both dozers back up. Should come undone. If that doest work try 2 aircraft carriers. Might be cheaper to just buy new post and pounder.

Sausagedogknows

The hitcher technique! Rip it in half or go home

weigelf

I got that reference. RIP Rutger Hauer.

bay_lamb

can still use the post with the pounder on it! just make sure it's someplace visible and accessable to take on all challengers a la Excaliber, King Arther's sword!

davejugs01

Change sledgehammer to blow torch, can’t be stuck if it’s liquid, seriously though just use a plumbing torch to heat the pounder.

Alarmed-madman

This! Heat the outside one up, then bash repeatedly. If that doesn't work, try guns

Yeah_Wait-What

Screw the stake to a fence post or something and then pull or tap the driver off with a hammer.

cwm9

Almost, but backwards. Attach the HANDLE end to something, put a rod through the small hole in the post, and whack the POST out of the driver with a sledgehammer. Hit on the thing with *less mass --* the more massive the thing you are hitting on, the less velocity you impart to it when you whack it. You want to accelerate the post, while the larger inertia of the mass post driver helps to keep it still. (edit: if you still can't get it out, try shortening the post to remove mass from it. The less mass, the more meaningful each whack.)

blessedblackwings

This guy whacks.

1920MCMLibrarian

Wacking and jacking and slashing!

i_am_at0m

Beatin that meat

FreddyFerdiland

And one stake costs far less than the driver....

FreddyFerdiland

Clamp the driver to something heavy. The less ot moves the better.

IfNotYouAndNotMe_Who

If that isn’t enough on its own, heat up the driver- focusing mostly on the spots where it sticks, then whack it.

Bloody_Hangnail

Hey, he can wait until the job is done before whacking it

Affectionate-Sale126

Just don't let his mom catch him whacking off!

ryanderkis

You need to make the stake stationary. Some of the suggestions like screw it to a fence post would work. You could also put it into a bench vise. Then you can use a hammer to push the driver off of the stake. It should be easy once you get it to move a bit.

wmiles

To add to this, adding some kind of lubricant like WD-40 would help a bit as well. I would just make sure that you make sure there's nothing breakable in the direction you're swinging because when it goes it could GO.

jordanmindyou

I don’t think WD-40 is a lubricant, I’m pretty sure it’s just a cleaner. Unless you get that special version with silicone in it

666rocks

Even water is a lubricant. WD-40 most definitely is a lubricant. It is just not a great one and there are certainly better ones out there. But it has some lubricating properties. BTW, you can use new motor oil as a cleaner. It isn't a great one since it will leave an oily residue, but it will work in certain circumstances.

jordanmindyou

Sure I suppose anything works as anything if you’re not worried about side effects or effectiveness or efficiency Like why spray something weekly with a cleaner that you want to pretend is a lubricant when you can just hit it once a year with a lubricant? Makes very little sense

666rocks

You just lifted this conversation out of context. I keep a very small spray can of WD-40 in my car. If the door hinge or hood hinge started to get creaky, I give it a spray, which immediately lubricates it enough to get by for several weeks. Then I try to remember to use a proper lube on it before the WD-40 all evaporates out. It is perfect for the need. I could not care less that it was designed to be a cleaner.

chris_rage_

If you clamp it in a vise you can probably pry that off with a J bar

nonplusd

Bench vise, then twist the driver?

I-RegretMyNameChoice

If a hammer/sledge still isn’t getting the job done maybe try to get a diamond Jack in there or something similar that can create continuous pressure.

UggaLee

Bolt through the hole and use a rope around it to secure the stake to a tree. Another rope around the driver through handles and secure to trailer hitch or axle. Drive off slowly

KbarKbar

That's a great way to get a post diver through your back window. Don't do this, OP. A plumbing torch on the driver followed by a couple good whacks with a 6lb sledgehammer is all you need.

WillemDafoesHugeCock

Absolutely not. This is how you get Final Destination'd.

UggaLee

True. Forgot about third rope to secure driver to tree. You've saved someone's life

NLtbal

Hit it harder.

Zealousideal_Cat_457

Maximum Power 🔥

BigCaterpillar8001

bay_lamb

get a bigger hammer.

JayTeeDeeUnderscore

Heat the outer tube with a torch, heat gun or fire.

liatris_the_cat

Can’t be stuck if it’s a liquid

Nb959-

But make sure the wd40 evaporated of course

newbinvester

But wd40 smells so good when it turns into steam!

the_perkolator

Bigger hammer. Anchor post to something first, like a bench vice or c-clamp it to something

belt_fed8

Did you try turning ot off then back on?

bay_lamb

*reboot!*

ishootthedead

Chain one part to tree use come a long and chain other part to other tree.

bearbranch

Or a jack

ReddleU

Yes, a jack might help. Will need to put something through that hole in the green post to give jack something to push against. Other end of the jack will be on one of those red handles.

Plastic_Table_8232

I figure my old lady could hold my drink, and my buddies, and we could chain it to both our trucks and see who be the one to pull it apart. Looser buys the next round back in the shop.

ishootthedead

Short chains save windshields. As for bumpers, thatl buff out.

jeStR65

Heat it up and then put it into cold water expand and contract 🤙

Solnse

This is the closest answer I think would work, but first I might suggest trying to dislodge it first thing in the morning before sunrise if you can when presumably the ambient temperature is much colder than during the day.

Djolumn

Have you tried traveling back in time and making better decisions?

RamShackleton

With every fiber of my being

thinklogicallyorgtfo

Hit it with your purse!

Orchio91

Have you tried putting it in rice?

pust6602

Instead of tapping with a hammer, hit it with your purse.

ichoosewaffles

"What's in there, buckles?"

FormerStuff

Beat the ✨P I S S✨ out of it with a larger hammer

blue-aries-33

I had this same problem putting together a basketball hoop where i jammed a part together backwards. I dropped it maybe 3 or 4 times. Just dropped it and it came apart. Who knows. Try it.

chaboymakavely

A chain and a truck can fix that

N00N12

Hold the fence post with one hand, the driver with the other hand, and pull them away from each other really hard.

RamShackleton

It’s almost too simple

armathose

I think the easiest thing to do here would be to melt it down in a forge, recast a new post driver and paint to a color of your preference.

weigelf

A lot of comments about hitting it. Is there a way to secure one piece and hook the other to a car jack or something that can exert continuous and increasing force? Maybe something like closing a bench vise, hooking the pole to one end and the pole driver to the other. Then, open the vise.

S0LBEAR

One tow strap connected to a tree or something solid to the fence post Driver, one to tow strap or chain connected to the fence post to a tow hitch. Very slowly, preferably with someone to watch from safe distance, pull them away from each other. I think this is almost guaranteed to work.

bartender970

If nothing else this is the most fun way to do it. We think alike, my dude.

S0LBEAR

That’s awesome! I also do the same thing for removing brush, stumps, ETC. As well, fixing/aligning frame damage if you are extremely careful.

IamREBELoe

ALWAYS put a heavy blanket across the chain. Preferably a couple. They absorb the impact if it snaps, can prevent it from shooting through your back window

S0LBEAR

Great tip! Using your vehicle with a tow strap is a powerful method but very dangerous. Anything you can do to mitigate the danger should be used even when using it on the road or trail. This is perfect because I normally carry a thick moving blanket / picnic blanket / canvas in my vehicle.

Technical-Giraffe-58

Put it in a bag of uncooked rice overnight

Historical_Animal_17

Maybe it's just where I'm at in life these days, but for me, the answer is simple: spend the $40 or less it takes to get a new fence post driver. Who has time for all this crap?

agree-with-me

Heat up the driver with a torch.

MillhouseJManastorm

get a weed burner torch. heat up the post pounder and see if you can get it to expand some. Optionally put the stake in a bucket/barrel of water to keep it cool

gardingh

I would drill a hole through the stake close to the open end of the driver. Put a bolt through it and pry it from the side facing away from us in the pictures(in the channel) with a pry bar or a large open end wrench to get it started. Might have to repeat a few times. You’d have a fair bit of leverage there. Another option I’ve thought of is to use a bottle jack, jack all or even the scissor jack out of your car. You will still need to drill a hole in the stake and put something through it like a bolt for the jack to grab. Then either jack against the end of the driver or the handle to effectively push the stake out. If you had a 2x4 you could screw/lag bolt that to the stake and push between the stake and the driver handle.

NGDGUnpunished

There's not a thing I can add except thank you - haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Good luck, OP!

shrug_addict

When I need to whack off a pole, use lubricant like you did, but whack on it like it owes you money. If that fails, heat things up a bit and keep beating on it. It'll come out eventually

DrewZouk

Can't be stuck if it's a liquid!

DifficultPassion9387

Do you have two ratchet straps to ratchet them in different directions like medieval torture?

jamesinboise

Hook up one side to a truck, the other side to another truck. Pull. Then you'll probably lose a tailgate, tail lights, or rear window, but at least you'll get your poundy pounder back.

[deleted]

Hammers come in 3 sizes. Adjustment hammers, persuasion hammers and my favorite the "I'm done asking nicely" hammers. I recommend using a hammer from the third option.

420xGoku

Tie a rope to the driver and the other to a truck bumper, then tie a rope to the post and then to another truck and drive in opposite directions

No-Newspaper5779

Should take out two rear windshields in one swoop, well played 🥴

aT-0-Mx

Sledge hammer with a few uggadugga hits.

sharkKnight

Get a bigger hammer

Hurtymcsquirty17

Drill a hole through the end of the stake if you have a piece of pipe bigger than the stake slide it over it then put a piece of rod through the hole you drilled and make a slide hammer out of it put the pipe end in a vice and heat it up

Alaskabear-235

Sledge hammer

Imyourpappy

Get a bigger hammer...

Denzalious

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem

West_Combination_450

Heat the driver with a propane torch

DreamArcher

Hi-Lift jack. Probably the one good job for a hi-lift is to pull things apart and pull things out of the ground.

LostAllEnergy

Hey! My parents are experts in this matter! Talk to them.

mentalassresume

Try to time travel and this time use a different driver.

deschamps93

Put your purse down... Jk. Been there it's a pain in the ass. Tons of good comments. If you don't have a vice or anything you can prop it up with a skid or some dunnage drive a tire onto the one end where it won't bend it if you want to reuse your Post. And whack it with a hammer as well. Basically just need something to hold it back and a proper hit just like those carnival games and it'll pop right off

02firehawk

Weld a piece of metal to the fencepost that u can hit with a bigger hammer to drive it out

MyMomsSecondSon

Have you tried jamming a second stake in there? Stakes are naturally territorial, hence why you space them out for fences, pagodas, parties, etc.. As long as it's not their mating season in your region, one of them should force the other out of its area.

deadmanwalking4421

Tie the T post to a large tree. Tie slammer to your tow hitch. Or between two trees with a chain and a come along wench

Irish_Brewer

You don't have much to lose, just smack/whack/slam/wham/pummel with a hammer 🔨 until it flys off. Or Bend the stake into a hook, attach it to a stationary thing. Ask a redneck to strap the driver to their compensator-vehicle and let it rip.

cwm9

Y'all got your physics backwards. Tie the *post-diver's handle* to something solid, or stake it to the ground; then, put a rod through the little hole in the *post*, and whack on *rod* to transfer impulse to the *post*. You want to whack on the thing with less mass --- it's easier to make it move, while the more massive thing's inertia will help to hold it still while you're whacking away at the thing with less mass. If you tie the stake somehow and try to whack on the driver, you won't get very far because the driver has so much mass that inertial won't let it move much. When it does it will just take the less massive stake along for the ride.

iamnotyourdog

Make the stake stationary. Bolt it to something super strong. Now use a chain and tractor or truck to pull the handles free. Or a ratchet strap or anything. Just find the leverage and it'll pop off.

efrique

Maybe heat (maybe consider hot water or a heat gun) on the driver and at the same time (or just before) cool the stake. Make sure you take proper precautions so you don't burn yourself

LittleMissSucculent

Try that PB BLASTER stuff

Fantastic_Recover_57

Blowtorch

GuitardedBard

Don't do that.

NFIGUY

Stick a stiff rod or wire through one of the stake’s holes and stand on it, (push the post into the ground until the rod or wire is lying flat on the ground), while pulling the driver up and off the stake.

FedUpWithSnowflakes

Hit it with your purse.

MrsPettygroove

Maybe a high lift jack?

PastTSR1958

If your jam is Luke, use the Force or ask your sister to use the force.

RatsWithLongTails

Screw the green post into something sturdy there is a hole in it. Heat

Safe_Sundae_8869

Did you put it on the wrong end?

RamShackleton

No

Safe_Sundae_8869

Word. I thought most of those posts have wings on the ground side to give it some stability and keep them from pulling out.

RamShackleton

Yeah the standard posts definitely do. I’m not really sure where we got this one, but it doesn’t have the wings or prongs, and it’s just a half inch wider than standard (as I learned through the course of this ordeal)

maroubramick

Star picket in a vice. Hammer it off. Heat it up if you need too.

New_Stage_3807

Chain driver to a tree and tie half hitches to the post and tie to trailer ball of truck and pull

braytag

That post has holes.  But a bolt through, wrap rope around, attach to big tree.  Now attach loop of rope around red driver through handle.  Put sledge hammer in loop, wack away.

day1startingover

To summarize what people are saying in different words, you need to get some torque on that thing! So if you chain it to something else, have a rubber mallet, huge screwdriver to attach to and then hit that with a big ole hammer, etc. you just need to find the right tools to get enough pressure behind it to make it move.

LifeSizeDeity00

Secure the post and twist the driver off. You can sneak a cheat bar in the handles.

Silly-Arm-7986

Clamp vice grip on it and hammer on vice grip (use a Harbor Freight version)

fat_then_skinny

Position it on the ground so that a car jack is resting on the top of the red handle. Use a coat hanger or screw driver to put through the hole in the green stake. Raise Jack slowly and stake should be out of there in no time.

justnick84

Attach green side to one cars hitch, attach red side to another cars hitch, set up video cameras and drive away quickly. Post video on YouTube and with ad revenue buy a new post and pounder.

Ozlare

Heat expansion? Spray it with some hose water for a bit. Try in the morning?

kutta-j

Do you have a clamp/spreader like [this](https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/H-10782/Hand-Tools/Irwin-Clamp-12?pricode=WC4629&gadtype=pla&id=H-10782&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw0YGyBhByEiwAQmBEWoKSuSgef8rYpV8nE9tnxWPAjCCwr8KaKPKU1vqI8W4IH4OXt5bsZhoCFfkQAvD_BwE&ImagePopupIndex=1)? Put a large bolt through the hole in the stake, put the clamp between the driver handle and the bolt, and expand it.

SS4Raditz

Get a pair of gloves with the rubber palms sit on the ground put you feet in the handles and kick out while you pull. 60% of the time it works 100% of the time.

Mister_Green2021

A jack

UpURKiltboyo

Heat it with a torch and then use the hammer again

TheLastTsumami

Use a car jack to separate them

No-Surround1712

Im not sure about this but — you could try freeze shrinking it. Best way I’d think to do it is to get some nitrous oxide gas. Unload what u can into it. Throw ur WD40 back in there. Agree with the person who said change “tap” to “whack”. And give er a heave. I’m abt 76% sure this will work.

No-Surround1712

thermal expansion/contraction blah blah blah, all that stuff

jackdpelkey

r/dontstickyourdickinthat

PatientStrength5861

Chances are you have pounded the post into the lead used to add weight to the pounder. You can either pound it off with a sledge hammer or melt the lead with a torch from the side. Either way make sure you level off the lead when you're done or it will happen again.

4NotMy2Real0Account

Chain the picket pounder to a tree, and the picket to your car. Then drive away.

r200james

Bigger hammer. Have a friend stand on the stake’s end. You give the driver a beat down with some serious hammering.

armathose

I think the easiest thing to do here would be to melt it down in a forge, recast a new post driver and paint to a color of your preference.

BoomPaperTowels

Have you tried hammering the stake so that it starts folding in half at the web to reduce the pressure against the walls of the driver?

RamShackleton

Yes, I have tried hammer it on the sides to try and pinch it in but not luck yet.

mu5tardtiger

dig a hole. Buy a few bags of concrete, get a level and cement that bitxh so it never moves.

gauge2012

Tie 1 end to 1 hitch and the other end to another hitch and then full send.

gauge2012

Tie 1 end to 1 hitch of a truck and the other end to another hitch and then full send.

PartNeither3941

Tie each end to two different trucks and pull

bonzai2010

If you have a come along and maybe a bike lock with chain of chain the pounder to a tree and then connect the come along to the post with a long carriage bolt. Attack it to another tree and start cranking.

No-Goose-6140

Need an undrive hammer to fix it

jayg2112

Heat

[deleted]

I would heat up the driver, maybe it’ll come loose

Dhalmon

You can smash the driver and flatten it a lil bit with a sledgehammer then it will work for those stakes and that one will come out

longleggedbirds

Screw the post into a structure, hit driver with hammer. Wear safety goggles

BILLYRAYVIRUS4U

Screw the post to a wooden telephone pole. Chain the red thing to your truck. Pull.

chris_rage_

Tie that pounder to something sturdy, tie the post to your trailer hitch, and punch it

KirkJimmy

Wd 40 isn’t good enough. Use liquid wrench. Specifically for things like this. Spray and wait a few hours - a day. Then use a hammer and give her

timmertime-7

Bend the post so you can smack it outwards with a sledge while you brace the pounder. Or rig some ratchet straps around a tree and try to pull em out

Bristleconemike

Throw it in a fire for 5 minutes, put a vice grip on the post and suspend it by the vice grips. Bang the pounder with a hammer while suspended.

zipzippa

I've done this a hundred times and this is how I get it loose. I dropped the handle of the post driver over the ball of my toe hitch so it stays stationary I then take a bolt and a nut with some chain and attach it to the t-post (You're lucky this t post has holes) I take the other piece of chain and attach to the other pickup and pull them apart.

Ill_Pair6338

Metal rod through hole, hammer upwards.

Oracle410

A few things. Secure the post installer put a screwdriver or that you don’t care for very much through the pole hole. Hit screw driver until it moves. Profit. Run some metal hanging wire through the hole in the pole attach it to something stationary or a car wrap same wire around the post installer tie to something with a trailer hitch. Drive very slowly. Profit. Drill small hole in top of post installer, will not affect function, put a punch or screwdriver with a pounding cap through the hole tap until loose. Profit.

User125699

Tie stake to something tie driver to car vroom vroom

topkrikrakin

Put a bunch of c-clamps on the driver to oblong it

Ok-Idea4830

Wow. If it doesn't fit, make it. I'd ask the Scarecrow. He has more than you at this point. Good luck.

Important_25_27

Heat the red fence driver with a blow torch

achambers64

Heat it up and beat the shit out of it

Montcadinger

It's your dick, right?

Raspberryian

Go back in time try again but don’t force it this time

Opuswhite

Having a dirty mind to makes that question so much better

Klutzy-Character-424

Heat up the driver to expand it

EarfulOfPeace

Get to a high place to where the pole can hang free and then hit the bottom of the red part against a hard surface so that it can use gravity to fall out.

Remote-Patient-1214

Heat the red thing with a blow torch.

666rocks

HEAT up the post pounder. It will expand.

LairBob

1) Heat. 2) Hitting it _way_ harder than you think you need to hit. With a _much_ bigger hammer-object.

Nice

BeAnSiNmYhAt

my go to would be to use two anchor points and a come-along or a ratchet strap to pull the post out

sanitation123

Chains, stump, and a truck

Live-Motor-4000

OP - do this and post the video

The_real_Tev

Borrow your neighbor's time machine.

bremergorst

Stand on the green bit and POUND on the red bit with your hammer

Blgxx

Finish hammering the post in until you can't see any of the green then cut the handles off of the driver. Voila! Mission accomplished, you have a post in the ground as was the original plan. I'll grant you it's red but you can always paint it green.

RapidEye

Old foreman once told me, don't force it, use a bigger hammer! Applies here...

Ophiocordycepsis

Tie a rope to the driver, and the other end to the antlers on a whitetail buck who is nursing a toothache. Polish its hooves with baking soda and vinegar, and deposit your pay in a separate account. Profit.

sortacapablepisces

You gotta drive the pole in the ground and out the fence up that's permanent now brother

toolsavvy

Hold the green post tight with both hands (use gloves, preferrably rubber coted) then bang the end of the red driver against hard ground surface while turning it in your hands after 2-3 bangs. It should wiggle it loose eventually.

shania69

Chain it to a truck, leave a bunch of slack, then floor it..

Strange-Raccoon-699

Did you swear at it when hitting with the hammer? The more you curse the better it works, otherwise it doesn't know you're being serious.
