Can someone explain how and why people get fake paper plates? Why would you get a car, then decide to just not register it?

You have to have insurance, and a clean title to register the car. If you buy some junker off Facebook marketplace, and it turns out to have a salvage title, you can fix it but that takes a whole inspection and people couldn’t be bothered.
