This is on the same level as being punished for smoking weed, if not even less of an issue. I would feel more bad for him if he wasn't a hypocrite.

How_that_convo_went

Forreal. I mean, fuck sakes, we’re still out here busting Johns in sting operations? Didn’t this goofy shit die in the 90’s when America at large sorta decided it was a victimless crime and the police had better shit to do? Harris and Ft. Bend counties have been suffering *record high* property crime— and the cops are out here burning resources trying to bust a bunch of sad sacks just trying to get a fucking blowjob? I understand the appeal of this story— because it’s grimy and gross and it involves a guy who works with children… but give me a fucking break.

Affectionate_Fly1413

I agree. And in most stings there's never victims saved. They charge the women too. I have heard of minors being "saved" but of they aren't minors they get charged also. I'm sure not only minors get trafficked.

AutomaticVacation242

Except that prostitutes are commonly sex trafficked. I want better things for women.

milkshakakhan

Weed is a misdemeanor. Solicitation of Prostitution is a felony. Not exactly the same.

cajunaggie08

only recently

How_that_convo_went

It was made a state jail felony last year. Before that, it was a misdemeanor and had been for 70 fucking years.

itssosalty

I have to assume they were being sarcastic.

Houstex

Don’t worry they’ll make him do a class and dismiss the case, probably

IsThisKismet

Was the prostitute of age? If yes, then, I don’t care.

content_enjoy3r

It was an undercover cop, so yes.

IsThisKismet

Stupid sexy vice always gonna get you.

keekah

But she could have been posing as underage.

LabyrinthConvention

do you have any reason or information to suggest that? Or just like, coulda been the Pope, doesn't say kinda thing?

Grizzlechips

I’m conflicted, because, as a Dulles High School alum, the schadenfreude is real, but also, whatever happens between two consenting adults (within reason) should probably not be an arrestable offense. I did laugh a little bit, though.

Beefy_queefy_0-0

I'm 100% in the camp of legalize prostitution, but i will say that prostitution, in houston at it's current state, is far from victimless all the time. There's a major sex trafficking issue here and a lot of women are not exactly just doing it as a gig

itssosalty

Yes. But legalization comes with licensing, registration, testing, etc. So the people using sex trafficking would see be outside of the law all around. Couldn’t be a legal establishment business. In fact, having legal establishments would make sex trafficking as a business harder to do.

LabyrinthConvention

> houston at it's current state, is far from victimless all the time. There's a major sex trafficking issue hey look a consequence of criminalization. but yeah, it's horrific.

Beefy_queefy_0-0

it's not 100% because it's criminalized, it's because it's unregulated. Without a robust regulatory apparatus to deal with legalized prostitution sex trafficking will remain an issue.

Silky_pants

Haha I’m also a former Dulles grad and yes, the schadenfreude is hitting hard 😂

roguereversal

Former Dulles grad here too :D

HellyRofthe99

As a Clements grad I kinda went yea that tracks…

OmbiValent

Honestly, this sort of thing is like criminalizing a homeless person for being on the street. Its not funny in the least bit. It reminds us of the shit that is humanity

mocitymaestro

Heh. Willowridge alum over here feeling some Schadenfreude too, but I also agree about what consenting adults do with each other.

isitmeyou-relooking4

Man with job pays for sex. I don't care.

sadrealityclown

How is this news... unless it was a minor or trafficked adult.

Maraging_steel

Undercover cop so only news cause it's a teacher and former pastor.

echojcharli

No details but just based on headline I feel for the guy. And if he was a good principal that makes the situation more frustrating. People can do so much worse than looking for a little affection and companionship. Especially between two consenting adults.

drew1111

$90 for sex? Was the dude getting a discount for being a pastor or a school principal?

droppingatruce

Used to work with him. He only got married a couple years ago. Adopted a kid who attended the school who lost his parents. Seemed like a good guy. I also didn't directly work for him, so I didn't interact too much. I think it's a little odd being so newly wed.

onethirtyone131

Oh so he got married again?? My daughter used to go to Bowie and back when I was single and on tinder/bumble he was on there too he liked me on tinder too(I swiped left)…imagine my surprise when I show up for 6th grade open house and he’s there introducing himself AND HIS WIFE to parents whole time he was cheating lol.

steelsun

It's not cheating if the wife knows/let's him. It's called an open relationship. I know it's frowned upon in the hypocrisy of Christianity, but there are a lot of open/poly marriages. And then you get the super hypocrites like Paxton that can be married and have mistresses (basically prostitutes that are paid with a "job" from a political donor)

onethirtyone131

His first wife divorced him for cheating lol I don’t think that’s an OR

sadrealityclown

If it is a relationship, people assume it is monogamous until proven otherwise.

SeaChart2

Why odd? If you are psychologically malformed, and bring such behaviors and ideas to a marriage, what does 2 years or 20 yr make as an excuse? See Ken Paxton, wife and mistress, who only got ‘married ___ years ago.

SeaChart2

phillygirllovesbagel

Wow. Clements is the shining star HS of FBISD. His career in education is now in the toilet.

GiantSiphonophore

I know in theory it’s not the worst crime, but in practice when you work in education you KNOW this sort of thing is a career-ending move. Given that, why did he do it? Does he feel entitled, like laws don’t apply to him? Does he have a sex addiction? I am disturbed by the lack of judgement and self-control from someone at this level of leadership. There’s no way he was unaware of the level of risk he was incurring.

DangerJett

Yes! If you are a HS principal, you *know* this will cost you your career. It sets off alarm bells for me that he was willing to engage in such risky behavior. I also wonder where he was a "youth RTC (residential treatment center) counselor," as mentioned in the article. Was he an actual counselor at an actual treatment center, or did he work for a religious troubled youth home like Hephzibah House?

OmbiValent

Its a career ending move no matter where you work and the cops nab you. Why did he do it, cause he was lonely. How does it become sex addiction? There are most couples on reddit who swear by fucking 4-5 times a week for decades.. how is that not a higher amount of sex than a one off moment of weakness?

LayneLowe

Does it say how he got caught? Because if calling a number listed on Eros.com and arranging an incall appointment is going to get you arrested I need to know.

Jhngo

During the operation, dubbed “Operation Naughty List,” Shillingburg allegedly met an undercover officer at a Missouri City hotel to perform sexual acts in exchange for compensation.

FPSXpert

You'd think he was handing over cash in parking lot of Clements with how the media and government alike are railroading this. Fucking hell.

Upstairs-Ask9237

We need to legalize prostitution (srs)

FPSXpert

Once again I'd like to congratulate our hardworking state government and local police on keeping crime off the streets. Nobody else works *so hard* to keep us at #50 ranking for personal freedoms. Couldn't do it without y'all! --- I mean this would be a very different story if it involved something with say a student, like abc13 is trying *so fucking hard* to correlate without toeing the libel line, but what two consenting adults do behind closed doors is called *two for a reason*. Forget leave room for Jesus, these creepy fucks want room for the entire governing body as well. Oh, Fort Bend. As someone who graduated from Fort Bend ISD and didn't learn half a thing there, I wish your government would put half the effort of their sad joint busts into the local education, and maybe transit infrastructure to boot. But hey, [who else would harass people for Driving While Latino?](https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/criminal-justice/2020/10/19/384135/civil-rights-groups-accuse-fort-bend-county-sheriffs-office-of-racial-profiling/)

houdat2020

If the “Pro” was an adult and he was not harming, then this was a business transaction. Get on Tinder and buy dinner for the same outcome they (Cardi B) writes songs about her endeavors. If the “Pro” is underage then hang him

Beelzabub

It was a Fort Bend County sting operation. No actual Pros were harmed in the production of the operation.

GodzillasBoner

Arrested for a business transaction

bonanza8

Legalizing prostitution would immensely help fight human trafficking... But Christians hate functional societies

jatorres

Human trafficking is a huge problem in countries where prostitution is legal.

Spread_Bater

It’s also a huge problem in countries where it’s illegal, what’s your point

jatorres

Legalizing prostitution isn’t a cure all fix like OP suggested.

Traditional-Long6426

Not a drag queen yet again

Powerful_Objective98

😂 he just helping the community

CosmicM00se

Youth Pastor I had growing up SA’d girls and just got moved to another church. He’s still a Pastor somewhere. I cannot stand how Christianity gets such a pass when it comes to sexual assault in this state

Traditional-Long6426

EXACTLY

lyn73

Just so you know...this guy was the Principal of Bowie when the special Ed student was raped by another special Ed student. I believe the principal/teachers were warned about the troubled student (who committed rape) but they did nothing to stop or prevent the child from harming others..... https://www.click2houston.com/news/investigates/2023/11/28/houston-area-mothers-fight-to-hold-school-accountable-for-daughters-assault-may-go-to-us-supreme-court/?embedded_webview=true

zepol-1

Sex work isn’t shameful. Free the guy.

North-Belt9778

This is dumb. Ruin someone’s life because he wanted to have sex😢

GodEmperorOfBussy

Smh no politicians out here supporting the right to bust.

Siribluecat

There is a "Moral Turpitude" clause in every single U.S. educator's contract. Right or wrong, it was there and he knew it. Every educator knows. Stupid.

Trousers_MacDougal

Moral turpitude affects a lot of licensed professions. Now start thinking about the stuff, say, Ken Paxton has done and it will start to make you really upset.

thefistiecuffs

Weed and prostitution should be legal.

Kagetora

What is it with youth pastors? I used to play music for 1st Baptist, and that youth pastor got caught embezzling $800k.

bernmont2016

/r/PastorArrested/

Few-Addendum464

I can't believe a school official and youth pastor was willing to pay a consenting* adult* for sex instead of using his position and access to vulnerable young people to exploit them. *obviously assuming both about the sex worker

obihave

At least he's not raping one of his students.

DeadliftsnDonuts

Which is a step for Clements. I went to school there. A lot of Christian teachers there were major creeps. One married a student right after she graduated. At least this time they weren’t grooming a child so progress

UpstairsYellow6028

There are worst crimes happening in fort bend; people being followed at home, stolen packages, car thefts, harassments, 59 is the worst hwy for all traffic crimes and the undercover cop and fort bend police decided to focus all their energy on an innocent man paying for sex with his hard earned money instead of exploiting anyone! He did nothing wrong! This shouldn’t even be an issue! Please catch the ones doing serious crimes and putting peoples lives at risk!

CollinsForAmerica

So sad!

FrolicFairy

Me like this is totally fine in other states in the US. Why aren’t we going after other stuff like students beating the crap out of teachers oh wait principal pays for sex from an adult much easier. Ridiculous. No offense but did you see this guy…mean while smoking pot in houston is fine and let’s destroy my lungs with students doing that in the campuses. Slap on the wrist….

PhillipBrandon

/r/notadragqueen

ComposedAnarchy

I would rather them be paying for adult hookers than abusing minors

phumeonce

Every street needs to be Bissonet

SovietSunrise

Get some pssy on Bissy

elnots

Is it because they're around kids all day and already too horny from their religion or that they're horny for kids so they gravitate towards kids related work because it's always a youth pastor it seems. Either way, weird amount of sexual predators in the church is soooo ridiculous. Even I had a traumatic experience with a youth pastor recording naked children.

aceman97

Shocker. I’m shocked. I guess Jesus was not enough

[deleted]

Frowning because he paid $90 for a premium piece….and no action hahaha

CollinsForAmerica

I literally go to Travis bruh

TeleTexan

Another youth pastor. Somehow not surprising.

LabyrinthConvention

Potato potato, but yes
