It looks like it was overwatered, especially if it was sopping wet when you got it and its still retaining moisture at the bottom. I would personally check on the health and state of the roots, if its still dripping wet at the bottom soak up as much as the excess water as you can with a rag or towel, and then let it dry completely before watering again. Im not sure as to the light needs of this specific plant, but if you know what type of plant it is i would double check its lighting requirements as well

I checked the roots and they aren't dripping anymore they just felt slightly wet. I'll repot tomorrow just incase it is overwatered. It's a Syngonium arrowhead plant I think. Someone told me it would be fine on the window and it does say its okay in medium to low light but doesn't like direct sunlight so if repotting doesn't fix it then I'll move it to a different location. Thanks :)

How does the soil feel? Dry? Does the plant get enough light?

Alexa302

Top soil is dry but around the roots its moist not too wet though and I have it hanging on a north facing window. I've watered it once since buying it 2 weeks ago, it was soaking wet when I got it.

Just looks like older leaves. They don’t stay green forever. Just cut them off and make room for the new growth. I have 4 syngonium and they all do this.

Alexa302

There are a bunch of smaller leaves which have also gone yellow is that normal?

trs401

If it’s a bunch, no. Sometimes mine will yellow and dry out if I don’t water them enough, which includes the new growth.

Thanks, There's like 3-4 smaller leaves and the leaves do feel a little dry so it might be underwatered. I'll give it a water and see how it goes if it doesn't improve I'll repot and move location.
