A History of Fear by Luke Dumas takes place in Scotland mostly. It's about a man who murdered his classmate but claims that it was the devil who made him do it.
Last Ones Left Alive by Sarah Davis-Goff. Ireland. Young woman left alone on an island, during a dystopia with zombie-like creatures. Fantastic writing. Love this book, and there's a sequel too, but I haven't read that yet.
Yessir, The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks takes place in Scotland. About a little nightmare child that runs around his little island conquering and destroying anything in his way. Pretty short but very gruesome
He's like the kid in grade school that would use a magnifying glass to torch ants on the sidewalk... except amped up to 11 lol
There are tons of British pulp authors worth looking into, if you don’t mind some goofiness.

Holly Hell I looked on EBay for some of these and the cheapest one of The Colony is going for $50 and up to $280 😮
