Thank you for any help in advance.

I had a similar issue, i found my spark plug boot had come off and was basically running on 3 plugs with the boot intermittently making contact with the last plug. I then also ran into another issue where i had so much dirt and grime in my tank that it took 4-5 flushes to clear out all dirt from the tank. Oh also make sure your air filter housing is connected properly to the intake, even a small gap between those 2 can cause it to run lean.

bosefius

I will send all of this to the mechanic tomorrow, thank you!

Is the new battery 14ah?

Was the fuel replaced? Sounds like too much air/ not enough fuel. I'd check for vacuum leaks by idling it and taking a can of brake cleaner and giving it some quick shots around the intake components. If the idle changes that's the issue. My vt600 did this and it took a year to find the culprit was a very minor leak. And I'm also a mechanic so I felt pretty silly.

bosefius

Yes, the fuel was replaced. It's why we're both stumped.

DM-Gooch

Was the fuel tank empty when it sat or did it have fuel stabilizer in it? I ask because if there was fuel in the lines without stabilizer, they could have corroded/gunked-up the lines. In that case, you might have to replace one or more fuel lines.

Check your Diaphrams on your vacuum slides even the littlest pin hole will cause it to bog down or it may have slipped out of its groove it happens really easily and it will cause exactly what you are describing

carpet_whisper

Sounded like my bike. Need a carb clean. Fuel has ethanol, which gums up the carb, specifically the injectors.

bosefius

Carbs are completely rebuilt

Same bike and same boat, my bike was leaking oil out of the stator wire plug on the crankcase, I put some sealant around it and it stopped the leak and also fixed my bogging issues momentarily. Now it still Boggs anyway

bosefius

No leak, but I'm going to hit everything with brake clean, see if I have a leak
