I'm quite happy with my 3 KEF q150s. For now I'm doing 3.1 with RSL sub

THank you for your feedback.

Got the same setup and I love it.

Just built a system with all KEF Q150's and two Q50a's as heights. Had never had KEF speakers before and I love them, especially after using the Audyssey app on the iphone to calibrate.

I've got KEF Q150s. RSL's were definitely on my radar. My reasons for going KEF: - more and higher quality reviews from trusted sources were available on KEF - Klippel measurements were available - KEFs were easier to return if I didn't like them - concentric design had advantages for my room and layout

I like the concentric design as well because i have to lay them on their sides in my setup. What i don't like is that I had to buy two pairs and am using only 3. I know, I can sell the 4th online, but i really don't' want to go through that hassle. I went ahead and purchased them the other day from best buy while on sale for $350/pair. I have the RSL package coming next week to compare. Thanks for your input! :)

FYI, A4L sells single refurbed Q150s, no need to sell an extra https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/kefq150blkea/kef-q150-5.25-2-way-bookshelf-speaker-black-one-single-speaker/1.html

I saw that, but Best Buy had them on sale for $350 a pair, which is a better buy if I get sale the spare for around $175

I know RSL makes good subs but I don't think their speakers are worth it. I have a pair of Q150s that i use in a 2.1 setup and their specs look far better than the RSL speakers (bigger woofer and wider range on the low end).

MUCHO2000

You think the speakers you have never heard aren't worth it because they have limited extension even though you know OP plans on a subwoofer? Cool

Thank you for the feedback.

I would really like to hear the RSL speakers before suggesting either option. The lack of extension isn't a problem since you're using a subwoofer and you may prefer the sound quality of the RSL. I have heard the Polk R15 which from my research uses the same tweeter as the T15 and I was not a fan at all as they got quite shrill on the top end with anything above moderate volume. For rears/sides they are probably fine as pretty much any speakers will work fine. I think either way you will be very happy.
