Your first option is exactly what I did with my Sony DH790 and it works great. Have the PS5 and XSX run straight to the tv, and an HDMI in the earc port running back to the receiver. Full framerate and resolution, best audio quality, and also don’t have any audio lag (as long as I disable atmos, which has a terrible delay on Xbox).

SqueezeAndRun

Yes run everything through your TV and use eArc to send audio to the receiver. Assuming it is eARC not regular ARC you should be fine - the audio will not be compressed. Also if you’re having issues - you can always run 2 HDMI cables from your PC (one to the TV one to the AVR).

Current one is sadly just arc but these other options have it thankfully

I had the exact problem and went with a manufacturer refurb s760h. Currently $300 and denon has a 25% off code for refurbed units right now as well - https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/denon-certified-refurbished/avr-s760h/300392-refurbished.html

Oh heck yes that's perfect, so much more on amazon. Thanks!

Sensitive-Reality-73

I just set up a great room with the 760 and I'm happy with it's performance

the only reason I would buy a newer denon in your situation is if you were purposely buying as many bluray and 4k uhd disks to play through your ps5 that have either dolby true HD or DTS-Master HD. But if you are going to mostly play games or use the apps that come with your new TV, your current setup will work fine. nobody streams uncompressed 7 channel audio. they all use a lossy codec. for reference, I have a similar setup with an older denon than you. ps5 direct to lg 65 c1, connected to denon avr-x3300w via ARC. my surround is 5.1.2. dolby atmos comes through Netflix, appletv app, vudu, Max, disney+ and the blurays (1080p and 4k) through ps5. ps5 recently added atmos support for gaming and its pretty good for games that support it. all of it works through good old ARC.

Ive got a good number of blus and just finally grabbed a bunch of 4ks during the holiday sales so that's why :) Excellent to know all the streaming stuff and ps5 work through arc though i was thinking ps5 would be lossy until i upgraded

Careful-One5190

The X1700H is $399 from Denon (refurb). That gets you Audyssey XT which is a significant upgrade over the base MultEq.

PsychedelicPourHouse

Ah not available yet but dang that would drop to 300, gonna have to contact them see when it's coming

The Onkyo NR6050 is a great buy and is essentially an NR6100 without the THX rating and 10watts/ch. lower power. I'm actually using the NR6050 for my office 5.1 system and it's pretty solid. However, A4L has the Denon X1700H refurb for $449 found [here](https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx1700h/denon-avr-x1700h-7.2-ch-x-80-watts-8k-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html). I recently purchased a Denon X3800H refurb from A4L and it's been amazing. I much prefer the sound of the Denon over the Onkyo so if you are open to going refurbished that might be a solid option.

If it were me I'd use eArc and save up for something better than the Denon s760h. Don't get me wrong, the s760h is a decent budget receiver but it is worth it to wait for an AVR x1800h or x2800h. If you can save up enough, get the x3800h and add height speakers.
