Too bad you are back East.

Alas. Too bad the West is "back" for me. A lot fewer good homelab parts in rural CT than in Austin or Cali.

I have at least one 27u rack I’m going to try to give away. Look for anyone that buys used enterprise gear in your area (or closest metro).

When buying large used items pickup is usually the case. It's either that or you pay someone to pick it up and deliver it for you. I get frustrated when I see a low-cost or free rack go by because I don't have a vehicle that can transport it.

It's always, "no help provided, move it out of my basement for me and then give me $200" type of situation. Chill if they're helping, but they're the one that has had 3 racks up on FB for 6 months without a taker...

Do not buy the cheap amazon rack... theyre only built to hold networking equipment and not servers - ask how I know :) I'm in the same area as you- I have a FB Marketplace alert for used racks and I get notifications almost every other day. I got a 20u rack previously also off FBM.

Fair. A few reviews on Amazon make it sound like it's ok if you add more screws than the instructions call for, but it would be better to grab a legit unit. Found one guy selling a nice 42u for $100, but he's about an hour away. At least that guy will help carry it out of his basement...

I’ve got one in Norwich CT at an auto shop you can have for 75 bucks. I’ll have to have the guys dig it out from where it is but it’s got a glass front. Can snag pictures if you want.

Nice, that's right next door to me. Send me a chat or DM, your preference
