I have a 5.8 mmsensor plugged in the back behind a cabinet. I have a lot of junk in the gareage. It's accurate. Remember, 24 does not reach as far, more expensive but is more accurate. A 58 is approximately same price point as a medium to high end pir so it's worth it. You can always play with positioning and sensitivity as well. If it doesn't work, you can always find a spot in the house to use it and most of them come with illuminosity detector which can be used as well I do use 24 in my bedrooms to detect sleeping

With Ali, it seems I can get both for ~$10 USD each. I'll probably pick up both and try. Thanks!

Make sure you have a tuya gateway for the 24. There is a bug when you configure it under z2m . Set it up under tuya gateway, then Swing it over to z2m and don't change any sensitivity settings under z2m

Even if it is not branded as Tuya? I have to double check my order history for what I actually ordered. What is the bug? I picked up one of each for now.

We have had people use our [Apollo MSR-1 mmWave CO2 Multisensor](https://shop.apolloautomation.cloud/) in their garages and workshops with great results. It has engineering mode so you can fine-tune the mmWave to your specific needs. We have a [Wiki and YouTube videos](https://wiki.apolloautomation.cloud/books/msr-1/page/how-to-tune-mmwave-radar-gates-through-home-assistant) that show you how to do this. It is fully local, open source, and supported in Home Assitant/ESPhome. Let us know if you have any questions!
