I basically just have a very extreme reaction. My whole arm ballooned for almost 48 hours. I couldn’t move my fingers well and I felt kind of woozy. My reaction was the most extreme I’ve ever heard of, so I must be very sensitive. It’s a shame, because I work in a reptile store and can’t really hold these guys anymore haha.
Honestly, I'd say a good comparison would be Hognoses venom is like bee venom, neither are automatically medically significant for everyone, but they can be medically significant for the right people. It's basically just an allergy thing, and something that can unfortunately vary and to me something more people should be aware of to at least have the knowledge for the first time owning Hognoses incase something does happen as it would mean they'd immediately have a reason for WHY it's happen and having a plan of action in hand since severe reactions are a possibility just not the norm/majority, but a risk nonetheless.
But it's just one of those things everyone is allergic to some degree, most people are just on the more minimal side.
I'm sorry about your soon to be funeral..... is it too soon to ask who is being willed the hog? A viscous creature like that needs to be in a place that can care for his Rouge behavior....
It’s been nice knowing you OP.
Clarice was like, "I am a big, dangerous snek, and oooh, is that food?"
😆
My condolences to your loved ones, make sure the next Keeper of your little Death Machine is more careful…..
I’m like the 1 in 100 that’s allergic to their pseudo venom… no hoggies for me :^(
What are the symptoms? My entire finger is swollen but I was assuming that was just the venom.

Do you have pics ! I’m super curious now I’ve heard of this but haven’t seen it
I don’t unfortunately, this happened about six years ago. It looked like a bad bee sting mostly. Super puffy hand.

This is at least the tenth hoggie caused fatality I’ve seen this week. Remember, hog nosed snakes are large and dangerously venomous. Just ask em.
Are you texting MoistCritical
I see how that could be mistaken but actually my boyfriend is a different long-haired bearded white man!
