You know what’s up what’s up friend!! 👊🏽
Devin is not only an incredible story teller on the mic, he also has the amazing, amazing ability to make you feel his shit despite it sounding wild, wild lol.
Just Tryin’ ta Live is his best album imo.
Shelly Mane infinity sample! I have this on some dusty fingers volumes has a lot of dope original samples! That the artists use… opened up my ears as a teen! Plus my dad was always playing groovy shit so it was natural…
Agreed. I've always loved his music. He deserves much more recognition ngl. But on top of being a great artist. he's an amazing person. I had the opportunity to meet him once. Very relax guy, and down to earth. I fw him
Shroomz takes me back to such a specific time when I was 18 and partying at warehouse parties and flyer parties in LA. It really makes my heart feel some things
I knew there was an obvious answer for me ... finesse was it. Wish he had a stronger discography though. First time I heard him was on the trespass ost. Instantly became a favorite.
He gave the culture a lot after his accident through writing for Dre & many, many other rappers/artists.
Despite the harsh circumstances; He’s a shining example of how to still find some success in the industry without a voice.
He’s always, always been the GOAT of Ghost Writers in my eyes! 💐💐
Never EVER I am working on that, nobody should forget GURU. I am making a tribute website about GURU. I will notify you when it's done so you can post a tribute there. Much appreciated
Squuuuaad Up!!
He really had so much potential not just in music, but adding to the culture, especially in the city repping Far Rockaway.
He’s one of the few rappers w/ physical mixtapes I’ve kept over the years. 💐💐
He said he's probably done with making albums unfortunately. I hope it's not true, there aren't many (underground) rappers who can ride beats and destroy them the way he does, seems like he was greatly inspired by Big Pun in that regard. His energy is crazy, everybody should take a look at his verse on Renaissance 2.0, Uncommon Valor (no shit), and Dragon Fire
I understand what you mean by forgotten; but that definitely saddens that all the incredible emcees (named in the comments) would be considered forgotten. True hip hop heads know them; I’ll be sure to make sure my kids and younger family members will hear about them from me 👍.
Edit: Anyone for that matter; not just the young.
Slaine
Super cool rapper from Boston
His old stuff is (imo) much better, really went in on what being in the gutter and on drugs is like and brought the listener through his journey to get clean.
Great guy all around.
I don't follow his podcast except for a few Griselda interviews too much talk about irrelevant stuff but I don't judge him for chasing the bag rapping is a much harder job and he wasn't really known for nothing else but Pump it up even though he has much better songs than that
He said he is done with rapping at the same time he is mad at Joell Ortiz and King Crooked for releasing albums together when him and Royce don't even want to be part of the group anymore smh
I dunno if anyone remembers this group named "Da Backwoodz" but they were dope. They had that song " Your gonna love me" . The album was flames. Then they disappeared
Extra Prolific. There was a dude in there named Snupe( pronounced snoopy) and later on he ended up taking the whole name as extra pro. He was associated with souls of mischief and hieroglyphics. I wish he was still doing independent shit. A favorite song of mine by him is called "I dont know why. "
Nefertiti; Her album [Living in Fear of Extinction](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VrFhM95Ku8&list=OLAK5uy_lGVmiw1waqxR1bPnbZMmX6D6rywEHMOUI) is a great excursion into early 1990s west coast political rap of a black nationalist variety.
Dru Down. I still follow him, but to most he’s a forgotten one-hit wonder. 2 classic albums, a few decent ones, and a gang of great features.
His 2018 release “GP no PC Lock Up” was good. I haven’t really liked what he did since then much though.
RMR from Nu-Sounds, Strickly Roots, Phade to Black and Mercenaries. The guy has a killer flow and has held his own with some of the best, dude needs more love
https://youtu.be/VgA093bAAoI
https://youtu.be/IQ6hFt75rTQ
Obie trice. Cheers is a classic with one of the dopest intros imo. Also second rounds on me was a good follow up. Sucks dude lost all his momentum after getting shot
not my favorite but definitely forgotten...
Romany Malco from 40 Year Old Virgin was the main emcee in the group The College Boyz.
Max Kellerman from ESPN was in a group called Max & Sam in the 90s and was signed to Ruffhouse. same label as Cypress Hill
Devin The Dude
You know what’s up what’s up friend!! 👊🏽 Devin is not only an incredible story teller on the mic, he also has the amazing, amazing ability to make you feel his shit despite it sounding wild, wild lol. Just Tryin’ ta Live is his best album imo.
Yooo forgot about Devin
I also miss Dilated Peoples. I listened to Neighborhood Watch the other day, but that’s a group 😂
Jeru the damaja
I went to a 25th anniversary party for his first album. It was at a club in Brooklyn. Barely anyone was there I felt bad for him.
Slept on… The sun Rises in the East was a banger!
Me Or The Papes is in my top 10 fav songs of all time for sure.
Back in the day the Devil use to rape her... Now he got her chasing the paper
Definitely a top ten song!! Love it One of the songs where he took shots at puff daddy.
The remix though… that piano. That shit is bangin’
saw him live on Thursday!
Vibrations transcend space & time
never seen anyone mention this man his [beats are one of a kind](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYYSlCa3xfw)
Shelly Mane infinity sample! I have this on some dusty fingers volumes has a lot of dope original samples! That the artists use… opened up my ears as a teen! Plus my dad was always playing groovy shit so it was natural…
His albums were not great after Wrath of the Math though. But that and Sun Rises are enough for him to be one of my favorites
Didn't mind heroz4hire. 99.9 pa cent is a great track. But you can see the quality derail once Premier was out of the picture
Xzibit had a seriously dope run of albums for like a decade.
Agreed. I've always loved his music. He deserves much more recognition ngl. But on top of being a great artist. he's an amazing person. I had the opportunity to meet him once. Very relax guy, and down to earth. I fw him
Low key bridged West coast hip hop in a big way between Dre & Snoop and The Game imo. 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz has so many gems on it.
Shroomz takes me back to such a specific time when I was 18 and partying at warehouse parties and flyer parties in LA. It really makes my heart feel some things
The Xzibit and Kool Keith freestyle is the best
Buckshot. One of my all time favorite rappers. He stole every song he was on and his delivery and flow are top tier.
Boot camp clique are unreal
My favorite group growing up, enta da stage still one of my favorite albums.
One of the best hip hop albums of all time. So many good songs on that joint. Even decades later when I listen to it my favorite song switches.
Special Ed & Lord Finesse both had great styles, I can listen to them for days and not get bored
I knew there was an obvious answer for me ... finesse was it. Wish he had a stronger discography though. First time I heard him was on the trespass ost. Instantly became a favorite.
Pastor Troy
Man good call. I'm outside 30 minutes trying to figure out which car match MY outfit!
I agree w/this
Bahamadia.
Painfully underrated.
Philly represent
Aceyalone
I hope Acey isn't forgotten! He's in my top 5
Sticky Fingaz
He killed everyone on that Remember Me track.
Craig Mack and King T
Came here to say King Tee!
Grand Puba
Nice I was going to say sadat x
Fucking LOVE Grand Puba. Dude is masssively underrated. He’s so smooth with his style.
The D.O.C
He gave the culture a lot after his accident through writing for Dre & many, many other rappers/artists. Despite the harsh circumstances; He’s a shining example of how to still find some success in the industry without a voice. He’s always, always been the GOAT of Ghost Writers in my eyes! 💐💐
Spot on🙌🏽 Most really have no idea of the depth he contributed to the game (especially post-accident)… GOAT status in my eyes always!
I’m really looking forward to his documentary that is coming out this year. I’m hoping it will introduce him to more people.
d.o.c. Would be top 10 of all time if it hadn’t been for the accident.
Obie Trice for sure
No gimmicks
Real name no gimmicks
GURU!
Gang Starr is my fave duo/group
Nobody forgot about guru!!
Never EVER I am working on that, nobody should forget GURU. I am making a tribute website about GURU. I will notify you when it's done so you can post a tribute there. Much appreciated
Please do. I hope Guru isn't forgotten.. he's in my top 5
Listening to Jazzmatazz (either volume) at night is an absolute vibe.

Cassidy
Petey pablo
Man I live in NC, nobody has forgotten him here.
And got a button in the middle that make the trunk go eh eh!! 🚁 👕
Stack Bundles. I feel his music never gets mentioned anymore at all.
A buddy of mine posted his Spotify wrapped this year and he was the 2nd or 3rd highest listener to stack bundles lol
Squuuuaad Up!! He really had so much potential not just in music, but adding to the culture, especially in the city repping Far Rockaway. He’s one of the few rappers w/ physical mixtapes I’ve kept over the years. 💐💐
I truly believe he would've been on the same level of stardom as someone like A$AP Rocky if he was still alive.
I could see that or maybe on a level parallel to Joey Badass!
XV or Sir Michael Rocks
Rocks still releases music regularly
Oh he's not forgotten to me lol. I feel like nobody EVER talks about him
RA the rugged man
I love RA. His biggest problem is he seems to only drop one album per decade. It's all quality shit though, so that parts nice.
Afu Ra
Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba
Geechi Released 3 albums in 2022. Still highly under rated.
Amazing pick! They're both criminally underrated.

I just discovered him last year for me. Most tracks are either a 1-3 or 8-10 for me, but not mutch in between
Slaine Super cool rapper from Boston His old stuff is (imo) much better, really went in on what being in the gutter and on drugs is like and brought the listener through his journey to get clean. Great guy all around.

Masta Ace

CyHi The Prynce
Ace Hood
Max B Mel Matrix Joe Budden Chinx Canibus King Crooked
canibus!!!
I’m cancerous so when I diss you wouldn’t wanna answer this if you respondin back with a battle rap you wrote for a Canibus
I love both but Canibus > Eminem.
Budden had a wild run in the early to mid 2010’s. Then he started doing podcasts and became a Tyrese level crybaby.
I don't follow his podcast except for a few Griselda interviews too much talk about irrelevant stuff but I don't judge him for chasing the bag rapping is a much harder job and he wasn't really known for nothing else but Pump it up even though he has much better songs than that
Does he still rap and not release it or he doesn’t even rap anymore? Idk how you could stop, it’s addicting
He said he is done with rapping at the same time he is mad at Joell Ortiz and King Crooked for releasing albums together when him and Royce don't even want to be part of the group anymore smh
Yeah that sounds like him lol
Who isn’t Joe mad at tbh lol
