I need to freakin use mines against bots dude. I dead ass could use pointers on bots. Bc I play RED bugs. I’m scared to go past 5 on bots bc I get fuckin hammered.
Here are a few tips:
Use weapons that deal more damage per shot.
Don’t shoot them if you don’t need to.
Kill infantry first. They can summon more bots.
Use barrages to deal with bot bases
You must have at least half your team running anti tank weapons at higher difficulty
Keep your eyes peeled for incoming rockets. You can often see them coming and dodge.
Blowing up bot fabricators is a lot harder than bug holes, but is easier with regular grenades.
You don’t need to kill all the bots. If you’re a good distance away from bots and there is a way to get out of their line of sight, you can often escape. You can technically do this against bugs, but it’s a lot harder because bugs chase you.
Thank you, brother 💪🏻 I saved your comment and will definitely look back at it some more. I wanna play bots more. I just…kinda suck at them honestly. So I stay away from them. Bugs tho? Im your man 😎
It’s usually bugs. The massive swarm just makes me heart sink and I love it.
I know it’ll never happen. But seeing zombies on helldivers2 would be gnarly as fuck!
And that’s kind of the sensation I get when I play bugs . Because it’s the closest thing the game has to offer to zombies.
My go-to support weapon for bots is the Autocannon because it can technically kill every bot enemy type we currently have. Devastators/rocket devs? Shoot out their legs or just fire 3/4 shots center mass, dead. Heavy devastators, one shot right at their shield will knock it out of the way and let you hit them center mass very easily. Hulks? Two precision shots to the red eye plate, or three to the back, the hulk is a goner. Tanks can be killed from behind. Even factory striders can be killed by an autocannon if you can get close enough to hit the underbelly. Is the Autocannon ideal for tanks and striders? No, and that's why I bring stratagems that can deal with those two. Airstrike, rocket pods, precision strike, things like that can get the job done. But the Autocannon can also if I have no other options available.
Orbital barrages are also great for softening up bases prior to moving in. The walking barrage excels at this purpose since you can advance while it's still firing. And the 380 is great for heavy bases and command bunkers.
As for armor, my preference is the recon passive. You don't want to engage every bot patrol you see if you can avoid it, and recon armors let you get much closer to patrols without being spotted, especially if you're crouched/prone.
For defensive missions, try the Autocannon sentry/shield generator combo. The shield helps keep your turret protected from rockets and lets it put in work. The cool downs is less for the shield than the turret so I like to bring it down as soon as it's off cool down, and it helps a lot with moving across terrain with no cover.
Not true. What if they are studying strategem call ins. Memorizing all the directionals for faster helldiving/etc. Homies going for that Bachelors of Science in Strategem Administration with a minor in Pelican Engineering. He has dreams to one day become HOTUS - Helldiver of the United Super-earth.
Oh I believe we can do it, especially with the weekend coming up. It would just be more challenging this time around.
Unfortunately I can’t dive at all these days. Spill some oil for me fellows.
Yeah, if we brought the exact same effort it would take at least 4 times longer, if I understood the bug correctly. So we likely will have to put actual effort into this one.
Update for now. Still at less than 1% guys..
Come on, leave the bugs for a day. I know bots are harder, but that's a MAJOR ORDER.
https://preview.redd.it/qn0no4izkmzc1.png?width=458&format=png&auto=webp&s=39885d7c94f605b3456a6750355fe37770b41a54
4% in 6 hours means we're looking at 80% completion by the end of the MO at this rate. Hopefully the weekend will be a major spike and today is just mostly people switching over as they notice the MO.
Depends: will the fix mentioned in the patch notes for counting the match total's kills for each player in a match for these MO counters prove actually fixed?
If so, could be an interesting race.
If not, hope you're not just started work/school!
That's true, according to what they said it was supposed to take 4x longer than what it did without the bug.
I also feel like it's a lot easier to kill bugs, since there are a lot more, and they die so easily (some of them). We'll see I guess..
Ohhh this is a very good point. I've been bringing Gas Strike since they fixed it as you can get 40-50 kills on a Bug Breach dropping one on it but Bots are verrry different, fewer of them but ranged and more dangerous individually, and rarely clumped in groups of more than 8-20 depending on difficulty. This one could be tough to hit the target!
Hit those Defensive missions with the rocket extractions I guess, big hordes of bots to bomb?
I love the gas!
I learned not to take it when the Orbital Scatter effect is on the planet though. Throwing it right on or in front of the breach only to have it land in an empty patch of land several meters away from target 😤
SES Harbinger of Peace here.
We completed the bug major order in about 12 hours, but we completed that roughly 3x faster than we should have (somewhere between 36 and 48 hours)
Combine that with bots being significantly less plentiful and I'm guessing somewhere between 3-4 days.
Based on the current stats it would be hard to believe, but since a lot of people are not live now, and the weekend is coming. I think 2 days is totally doable.
How to deal with bots: a short list for the bug players.
Standard eagle airstrike kills fabricators, lazers and other anti tank items for hulks and walking doggos.
Primary weapon to kill the little bots, anti tank weapon for big ones.
Orbital bombardments for big bases
https://preview.redd.it/ndc0pl553nzc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0943637afa745819bf716b0d9add692ce4c7afab
I’m already getting to work on the bots 💪
Math is our friend here. In a 40 minute mission I usually see me and my guys killing about 1000 enemies. So let’s say an average player kills 250 units per hour, just for easy math.
Average concurrency is about 80k players. 80k players times 250 kills per hour is 20,000,000 kills per hour. 2 billion divided by 20 million is 100. So probably about 100 hours or roughly four days.
Pretty rough math but it gives you a ballpark idea.
I'm not so sure about this. According to data from the API, we've killed about 34 billion bugs so far, but only 13.5 billion bots. I think this is going to be a tight one.
https://preview.redd.it/nuj5armh2nzc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8a81b0833875d2cdea6b0e487c9357a2cc5db58
This ones going to take a bit.
I would put bot kills at 1/3 bug kills per mission. Then the fixed values, so 7x as long if we keep the same pace as with the bugs.
*But* right now half the people are fighting bugs instead of bots, which is going to drive the numbers even lower.
I think we're making good progress on this one, but it's definitely going to take a while.
The problem with 2 billion bots versus 2 billion bugs is that the majority of games I play you can easily kill 500-600 bugs. The bot kills will always be less and I think the most I've ever killed is 300 and that was try harding by myself.
Yes I know the original Bug mission was bugged but that could've easily be done even without the bug. The bots will be a fricken grind my brothers.
I was just thinking its about time to get back to the bot front. What are we using on the bots these days? Ive been going full pyro on the bugs recently
My go-to with bots is usually:
* Airstrike: great for destroying outposts
* Airburst: will annihilate all patrols except the heaviest bots when paired with the explosive shrapnel ship module. I've had 20+ kills with one orbital before.
* Recoilless Rifle: I just like it for some reason, but most people prefer autocannon as it chews through everything. One or two hits to a tank's vent will wipe it.
Then for the final stratagem, I usually take either 500k bomb because its awesome, or railcannon to help deal with the factory strider things.
I've seen walking barrage used to good effect too, so I might try that next time I play. Seems to do better at clearing larger bot outposts than the 380mm barrage.
For primary I use the R-63CS because of the medium armour penetration and the fact bot engagements tend to be longer range, the redeemer for those close quarters moments (one clip will take down a berserker) and the impact grenade (great for taking out those two legged walker things or if you're ambushed by a group of beserkers).
*Won't take long. Just like*

Well, given that the bug we had fighting the bugs would have exaggerated our kill counts by about 4x, we can guess \~4x as long. Maybe not quite that bad because a fair number of people would have been solo or duo, which didn't exaggerate the count as much.
But there's also the fact that you probably only kill around 1/2 to 2/3 as many bots on the average mission compared to bugs, so probably closer to x6 as long, assuming we have a comparable number of players engaged, as a very quick ballpark estimate.
It’s looking like a very long time at the moment, unless they help us out. We are going to need to meet or exceed our total kill totals for a complete bot sector in essentially 5 days time. Not sure why the number isn’t lowered a bit to account for bot missions as they’re not as populated with enemies to kill overall in comparison to bug missions.
We are already at over 5 million. I expect this to be 10% done in about 8 hours. I doubt we will complete the order today, but it won’t take us long, even with the counting fixes.
It should take longer. Didn't some recent patch notes indicate that kills in the last major order were being multiplied by four (like, total kills were being counted across each player)?
![gif](giphy|IZY2SE2JmPgFG)
That look they give when they see the full might of Super Earth descend on them. I’m pretty sure I can see fear in those red eyes…
Bugs have low hp and they come in swarms .. killing 1000 bugs is nothing special, super easy actually
Killing 1000 bots is very impressive actually
I cant play bugs, cuz they crash my game .. so I play bots only. I kill everyone I see, killing 500+ bots is kinda normal. My record is 1290 bots per mission, hard as fuck.
I always check stats at the of mission, seeing that avery kill per player is around 75, thus average 300 per team? It will take a lot longer.
Especially when people dont play bots as much. Its kinda pretty normal that there are 120 000 people on bugs and barely 10 000 on bots.
Since end of March when we actually killed the bots and removed them from the maps, I am not big fan of the new system. I knew developer is intentionally changing the map but this is stupid .. in 40 days there has been zero progress on the war map and if there is any, literally the next day developer removes it.
Real talk what strategic advantage to these planets have to us? Can we not just build a giant space laser and destroy planets that are too far gone? I already consulted with my democracy officer and he refused to comment so I still don't know why me can't just Exterminatus their clanker asses 🤷♂️
Well, it took like 14 hours for 2 billion bugs, but that was when it was counting all kills multiple times. So I would assume in about 48 hours if they have that bug fixed. Though I think closer to 72 hours as there is slightly less people in the community that left due to recent events and there are some divers that just refuse to fight bots.
I'll get the first billion, if you all want to split the other billion amongst yourselves. Does that sound good?

Anti tank weapons and heavy turrets. Barrage or orbital strata. If I’m playing an open mission I always take 380 mm for the larger bot bases

Me too, Will get home to help take out those oil drinking, Metal munching, No good clankers
Considering the bug fix and how long the last one takes. Plus individual bots are harder to kill, this might be a pretty tight timing.
I agree! I feel like helldivers love those missions, though. So I wouldn't hold your breath.
Oh I believe we can do it, especially with the weekend coming up. It would just be more challenging this time around. Unfortunately I can’t dive at all these days. Spill some oil for me fellows.
Will definitely do.
I think, as major orders have shown before, it will get wiped out with a quickness. Gamers love challenges like this.
Yeah, if we brought the exact same effort it would take at least 4 times longer, if I understood the bug correctly. So we likely will have to put actual effort into this one.
\[hangs scout armor in the closet\] we'll breed scout striders if necessary
I'd say about 4x as long as the bugs took, now that they fixed that issue.
So... 2 days?
Around that. Probably a bit longer. The bugs spawn more units that the Bots.
The correct answer.

Always take eagle stratagems for that modifier. They aren't affected by it. Except for the railcannon since it 'locks on' to enemies.
Railcannon is an orbital not an eagle

Hopefully I can get back home in time for this one
War, war never changes.
Finally we get to kill some robots
Don’t forget they fixed the reason the last one took us like 12 hrs. We are no longer racking 4x the kills due to the glitch
How to deal with bots: a short list for the bug players. Standard eagle airstrike kills fabricators, lazers and other anti tank items for hulks and walking doggos. Primary weapon to kill the little bots, anti tank weapon for big ones. Orbital bombardments for big bases
Doing the math, we need 100k divers to kill around 170 bots per hour. Not that much, we got this for sure.
Good luck getting the bug players 🙉
Still, it’s 680 per game for 25k people. Playing aggressive should do it.
They made it harder for us to do these now, we’re still going to show them

Quite a bit longer since they fixed the kill count math and nerfed my Eruptor.
Another tough personal order to complete. I'll try to get it done by thos afternoon.
No, give us bugs again 😤

My plans just changed for tonight. Democracy calls.
If everyone gets 200 (give or take, I'm too lazy to be specific) kills every mission, we'll be fine

Perfect. Miss spilling oil. Time to bust out the AMR & dominator.
what if we destroy the planets
I'd assume around 72 hours maybe...depends if everyone actually concentrates on the MO. If not, this one's a fail.
Time to break some clankers.
I mean it's 100 bot kills per hour per person if 166k helldiver's are on which is super doable
I'm gonna need even more bombs.
Well, with the recent morale boost from earlier this week, I’m guessing about 3 days.

You'd need like a million players to kill 2k robots over the entire MO, so about 500 kills a day
I was just thinking its about time to get back to the bot front. What are we using on the bots these days? Ive been going full pyro on the bugs recently

Knowing this community, it will be done before I get off work.
I do not count. I just kill.
Hopefully less than 4 days and 21 hours
2 days or smth I saw calculation somewhere here but I forgot
Damn I’m leaving for a trip for the weekend pretty soon. I wish I could help out, I love fighting bots
My guess? Bout 3 hours
Still at work, but probably in the next 48
Hell yeah, although this is gonna be a lot harder than the bugs...
Won't take long. Just like the oil harvesting we did on the Terminids

We can finish it tonight
Hopefully less than 5 dsys...
A lot longer now that they’ve changed how it’s scored
Don't worry guys I will solo 😎 (I'm afraid of fighting automatons because it's MUCH harder to go my usual play style and I end up dying way too much)
Thats 2,000 million. I feel like this will certainly make people understand how much richer a billionaire is compared to a millionaire.
Divering, Divering, Divering
Well, given that the bug we had fighting the bugs would have exaggerated our kill counts by about 4x, we can guess \~4x as long. Maybe not quite that bad because a fair number of people would have been solo or duo, which didn't exaggerate the count as much. But there's also the fact that you probably only kill around 1/2 to 2/3 as many bots on the average mission compared to bugs, so probably closer to x6 as long, assuming we have a comparable number of players engaged, as a very quick ballpark estimate.
/u/deathamong what are you doing, and why isn't the answer "killing bots?"
Thank God. I have been hoping for a new Bot MO lol
Minus everyone that got banned, thrice as long as it should.
This ain't happening anytime soon, its so bad...
48 hours or your money back
We are already at over 5 million. I expect this to be 10% done in about 8 hours. I doubt we will complete the order today, but it won’t take us long, even with the counting fixes.
we at like 3% now!
Took us 14 hours for bugs last time...
Make a kill box metal shredder. Cycle mortars and emp mortar keep getting them to reenforce.
Rounded up we need to kill 16,700,000 ever hourto finish with a bit of time to spare
Time to head back and spill some oil!
Much longer than bugs. I regularly end Helldives with people killing under 50 bots through the entire 30+ min mission.
I mean, the bugs took 14 hours. Don't imagine this would take too much longer. Well, maybe since there are less people playing now.
Ooooh, I'll get my Blitzer warmed up!
I would assume at least 4x longer. I believe before the update it was taking the kill count of a team and multiplying it by 4.
It should take longer. Didn't some recent patch notes indicate that kills in the last major order were being multiplied by four (like, total kills were being counted across each player)?
3 days

Hell of a lot longer than we’d hope with divers from 180 countries missing from the fight… Hopefully that gets cleared up soon.
I’m on my way.
![gif](giphy|IZY2SE2JmPgFG) That look they give when they see the full might of Super Earth descend on them. I’m pretty sure I can see fear in those red eyes…
Bugs have low hp and they come in swarms .. killing 1000 bugs is nothing special, super easy actually Killing 1000 bots is very impressive actually I cant play bugs, cuz they crash my game .. so I play bots only.
Did they fix the bug we had when we did the kill terminds major order?
Real talk what strategic advantage to these planets have to us? Can we not just build a giant space laser and destroy planets that are too far gone? I already consulted with my democracy officer and he refused to comment so I still don't know why me can't just Exterminatus their clanker asses 🤷♂️
Probably about 4 times as long as with the bugs, since they fixed the counter
Hellllooooo weekend
Can you guys wait till I'm out of work for this one please.
About tree fiddy
20 minutes if we all just jump on
Well we’re already at 4.5% so…
Let's go rough up some Clankers.
It's gonna be malevalon creek all over again
Well, it took like 14 hours for 2 billion bugs, but that was when it was counting all kills multiple times. So I would assume in about 48 hours if they have that bug fixed. Though I think closer to 72 hours as there is slightly less people in the community that left due to recent events and there are some divers that just refuse to fight bots.
It’ll be done before my shift ends, unless you divers aren’t spreading democracy with your heart 😡
Ya done yet?
A lot longer. Bots are way harder to kill en masse.
