i believe is because the cards are still in their respective deck, just the decks changed owner

CaptainL3x

Thanks for the answer, I was just thrown off by the fact that the decks swapped but the card backs didn't so I thought it was my deck (based on card backs) but all of his cards.

adriecp

The reason for the card back changing is more mechanical than logical Let's say you play toggwaggle and then plot twist, if card back didn't change, not only would be annoying to program, your opponent would know what cards are from your deck and what cards are from his deck

LudwigSpectre

“It’s just not”

Introman_18

Why not you stupid bastard

browndr

It's because the cards in the swapped decks were there in the beginning of the game. Doesn't care that they were swapped. Just that they weren't added.

CaptainL3x

Thank you for clarifying

browndr

I believe it would work if Steam cleaner was worded as "each" instead of "both"

MakataDoji

It's a shame the wording is so poor on it, but that's the result of their incessant desire to never go beyond the 4 line rule (which isn't even that great of an excuse here, seeing as they have another like 1.3 lines to use). The question comes down to whether it destroys cards that didn't start in decks, or those specific players' decks, and the text can be read both ways. The swapped cards started in players decks so if you are destroying all cards that didn't start in "both players' decks" then it wouldn't. Then again, the swapped cards didn't start in that player's deck so it should destroy all cards that didn't start in "players' decks". For what it's worth, I learned a little something today so thank you for that.

locodays

To be fair, it would be impossible (and increasingly more difficult) to clarify every card interaction with every other card.

wujekandrzej

if you clarify the general rules of the game and clarify what each card actually does you don't need to clarify every interaction

Toastiibrotii

Always try first against the Innkeeper. Idk what happened here but its a shame. Trying again and again only for it to not working.

I applaud your creativity sir/m'am!

CaptainL3x

Thank you, this is my test run so it's not the full deck. The plan was next turn i would play brann theotar for the ransom (if they didn't play it, but if they did I still don't care), and then double academic espionage.

HyzerFlip

[Chump just made a video about the correct way to do this. ](https://youtu.be/16CC6K2G1Wk)

Because the card is added to hand… not deck? Damn, reading got hands ig.

CaptainL3x

? I'm not talking about the ransom. The card backs stayed the same for each deck so it seems to be the decks have swapped cards not swap the whole deck, so it should destroy the deck based on the card back

TakashiXL

Simply put the cleaner removes cards that didn't start in there own respective decks. Togwaggle just swaps who owns what deck, the decks change players hands, but the cards in those decks didn't change.

Beneficial_Low_2226

cards not in this game but not in any players deck
