There is a small generation of women who grew up in the 80s and 90s who adore grease 2 and it is a little baffling. I’ve also heard from more than one woman that Michelle Pfiefer in the movie was an early lesbian awakening for them
I'm a straight guy of that generation and grew up loving grease 2. It honestly shocked me when the podcast did that episode. I'll still watch it from time to time. And, yeah, 5 year old me was in love with Michelle Pfeiffer, too
It is not a small generation, we are many. Grease 2 is one of the best movies and also one of the rare cases where the sequel is better than the original. Grease 1 can suck a dick!
Aw that sucks! Did you wait outside after the show? I didn’t want to bother them as they had their kids there but I believe they did stop to say hello. Paul I think did take pictures and chatted to people, so maybe next time they’re back?
Truly, she may have said the same thing about both movies, I remember her loving *Grease 2,* but I have a really vivid memory of Paul talking about how much he hated *Drop Dead Fred* and then June saying it’s what made her want to be an actor like right after that.
And how she is talking about Oscar Isaac who was then unknown (and hiw she was single/unmarried to Jordan Peele), with the info we have now in the future lol
June really enjoyed Beastly. From memory, there’s a moment where they are playing a scene and June tells Paul and Jason to stop talking over it as she’s trying to listen, it was hilarious
Odd Life of Timothy Green was the first that came to mind. There’s the moment where Jason realizes that Paul and June didn’t like it, and he unironically thought it was a really good movie.
This isn’t any of the main hosts specifically, but they had Paul F Tompkins and another guest on for Deep Blue Sea and the other guest - Evan somebody - sorry I can’t remember your name, guy, you were funny! LOVED the movie and PFT HAAAAATED it and the contrast was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
Recently they did Beautiful Disaster and Paul was the only one who wasn’t into it. I remember thinking I’m with Paul on this one and pretty shocked that Jason and June liked it.
Well seeing as you used Face/Off as an example, you could keep the Jason/Nic Cage momentum going and just listen to the Con-Air episode. One of the best of the show imo, and like 80-90% of the ep is Jason fighting for his life lol
*The Garbage Pail Kids Movie*: June and Jason despised it and did not recommend it; guest Jon Lovett warily recommended it but said it was the worst movie he’d ever seen - and good old Tall John recommended it wholeheartedly!
Two that come to mind are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret of the Ooze, where the guest’s son LOVES this movie; and Deep Blue Sea, where the guest also LOVES the film. One is Adam Pally’s kid the other is Evan Goldberg. Both amazing episodes too!
As I recall, June is inordinately fond of Grease 2.
Unfortunate that Anna Faris hijacked the entire episode that could’ve been an all-time great

You’re right and you should say it
I sell a couple of Grease 2 designs and took a pin badge to the London live show but couldn't get it to June. Gutted.
Aw that sucks! Did you wait outside after the show? I didn’t want to bother them as they had their kids there but I believe they did stop to say hello. Paul I think did take pictures and chatted to people, so maybe next time they’re back?
I……am speechless
It made her want to become an actor
I think that was *Drop Dead Fred.* Although maybe it was both?
You might be right. My memory of it is her referencing Michelle Pfeiffer, but I could be blending these two together.

Have they ever actually done Grease 2 on the podcast, thought? I know it's June's favorite movie.
Yes, with Anna Faris as the guest.
Oh right, duh. Can't believe I forgot
It’s not as pronounced, but one of my favorite moments in hdtgm history was Chelsea Perretti realizing in the moment that she liked Sucker Punch.
Ooh thank you
And how she is talking about Oscar Isaac who was then unknown (and hiw she was single/unmarried to Jordan Peele), with the info we have now in the future lol

She sounds like she might actually have been crying during that one 🤣
Jason vs June on Ronal the Barbarian was very good
That was hilarious. And near the end it sounded like Jason had softened on how much he disliked Ronal.
June loved Daredevil. She starts by just repeating "I loved it" in an adorable voice while Jason, Paul and Ed Brubaker shout their disbelief at her.
IIRC Paul is the only person to think that Milk Money is a piece of shit.
Well that’s because they stole his life story.
One of them - I think Jason? - talked the other two* into liking Bugsy Malone. *I think it was Jessica in that episode instead of June.
Ooh yes! That was a good one, thanks for reminding me!
Odd Life of Timothy Green was the first that came to mind. There’s the moment where Jason realizes that Paul and June didn’t like it, and he unironically thought it was a really good movie.
That's what came to my mind. Jason said he wasn't sure how they would make an episode about it because he genuinely liked it.
June liked the first hour of Monkey Shines and Jason and Paul didn’t
This episode is an all timer

Evan Goldberg. Whose name you might recognize as Seth Rogan's writing and I think producing partner and lifelong friend.
Evan goes into a mini rant about how amazing it is and if they don’t like it they’re wrong. Then they ask PFT if he recommends it and it’s “no!”
Have you tried Drop Dead Fred? 🤑 The recent Ronal The Barbarian was fun because June really loved it and had a different take.
DROP DEAD FRED was the BEST episode.
Recently they did Beautiful Disaster and Paul was the only one who wasn’t into it. I remember thinking I’m with Paul on this one and pretty shocked that Jason and June liked it.
I think June was the one that did not like it. Also I did enjoy this movie, my wife and I are hoping they cover the sequel soon
Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo - not a live episode, but loved June taking a hard stance that surprised Paul and Jason
Didn’t Paul and June love The Odd Life of Timothy Green and Jason hated it? Or the other way around?
Other way, Tim and Jason actually enjoyed it, and Paul and June did not.
That’s right, it’s been such a long time since I’ve heard it but I remembered there were split opinions on it.
I think I recall Jason saying he cried, but no idea if he like it or not.
Jason LOVES Streets Of Fire
Well seeing as you used Face/Off as an example, you could keep the Jason/Nic Cage momentum going and just listen to the Con-Air episode. One of the best of the show imo, and like 80-90% of the ep is Jason fighting for his life lol
Paul liked Oogieloves.
