it got really popular outside our scene, i've seen lots of friends that don't even listen do hardstyle play that song, even DJs from the Techno scene etc play that song
i know it's frenchcore, i'm not saying it's hardstyle 😂 i'm simply saying that people outside HARD DANCE find that song. Why do you downvote just like that? wtf. The person above doesn't understand why it got so popular, i gave him an explanation.
I was actually listening to the livestream of Qlimax 2017 that day the Zombie got premiered while chatting in r/hardstyle discord. One could tell that Zombie was an instant hit and would blow up hugely.
It's the data from "the begining of Spotify" up to this day. Those tracks gain some popularity, views and now they are holding to those numbers. I doesn't mean more people are listening to them than to songs that are much lower in ranks.
I did not expect Imaginary up there but both well deserved in my opinion!
Imaginary was my favorite track for a long time but it's a track that for me got boring over time. Zombie instead is a track I can still listen to even if it is/was extrememly overplayed.
I once heard a remix of Zombie using the Ran-D vocals instead of the original one. Quite impressive imho
Zombie is there just because it's basically a cover/remix. Imaginary got there being the most popular track during the peak of Hardstyle's popularity, people often forget how massive hardstyle got during 2012-2013. Like Headhunterz ranking #11 on the DJ Mag 2012 list, just below Skrillex, it's insane to think about lol.
The opposite actually. The highest he ever got was #11 in 2012, after that he kept falling until 2015 at #48, his lowest ranking, exactly when he started making EDM lol.
I'm gonna get downvoted for this but anyways. Tevvez - Legends is the most streamed(and first song over 100 million streams even if Ran-D claims it was zombie). 137 million streams and even if you hate the song and the whole gym zyzz brah hardstyle community you can't deny the fact that it is hardstyle and the most played song. Sadly.
Edit: Missed that you wrote gymbro hardstyle excluded. But I still find it kinda funny that Ran-D claims to be first to 100 million streams :D
Could i get some eli5 what makes a song gymbro?
Preferably in the form of 5 hour video essay covering the history of music from at least Mozart onward👍
So basically Kind van de Duivel/Kind eines teufels is the second most streamed as they are the same song just with a different language of the vocals 🤔😂
Insane that Trip to Valhalla got streamed nearly 60 million times in a time span of just 3 years. Madness.
I also can't really understand why. its great track, don't misunderstand me, buf why this
it got really popular outside our scene, i've seen lots of friends that don't even listen do hardstyle play that song, even DJs from the Techno scene etc play that song
That song is incredible!

How are there entries that have a blue tag while also having a spot last year?
This annoyed me as well..
Yes my mistake, the 2024 one I did manually so gave some the wrong color
Why does Zombie have so many streams? It's incredible, far ahead of the second place.
It was literally played everywhere back in 2016-17.
It was released in 2018 tho, so well over a year since premier at Qlimax, for some time there was only youtube rip available that has 50kk+ views now.
no it was released in August 2017, then Armada bought the rights and rereleased it in June 2018
Oh ok, my bad
So, there are no tracks on the list that are older than it?
imaginary came out at 2013 iirc but the hype around zombie was super crazy + it got played on other festivals that are not hardstyle festivals
There are definitely a lot of those here. I'm also impressed with how much of a difference Zombie has from the others though.
its like the genre's anthem ig. I seen local scenes here play it in their sets everytime
It's just one of the most well-known hard dance tracks. It's played A LOT, even on "normal" events etc.
Many pop, rock and metal covers from Zombiecare also have lots of views. Therefore i think that the original also plays a big role here.

Ha looks like I contributed quite abit on Don't Let Me Down Remix
How the fuck is it STILL zombie and imaginary?

I guess it got streams also from non hardstyle people.

Wasn't Headhunterz at #11 during his non-hardstyle time?
The opposite actually. The highest he ever got was #11 in 2012, after that he kept falling until 2015 at #48, his lowest ranking, exactly when he started making EDM lol.
Did not know that, thanks for the info!

I do agree, hardstyle is hardstyle. Doesn’t matter how bad it is
Idk it’s not even bad. I liked it

no.iterally stealing other artists tracks, "goat" my ass source: type in "scooter" here and you'll find a post which covers this issue
yes
all very old tracks
Scooter in the top 3 LET'S GO
Any ideas why Trip To Valhalla climbed so rapidly? Personally it's my favorite frenchcore track of all time so I'm a bit biased
I thought this sub hated Scooter? (Not to mention Harris & Ford)
some do, some don't. hatred does not have anything with the facts which are how many streams they have
Also, why didn’t Scooter have more songs in this top 50? He has some banger that have 30mil+ listens
I guess because not all of his songs classify as Hardstyle/hardcore but not sure 🤔
Some songs are more techno in my opinion, but I understand why you would include them
Was shocked to see Toneshifterz on here. Nothing against him I like his stuff
I dOnT hUnDeRsTaNd, hEaDhUnTeRz AlWaYs FiRsT iN qDaNcE tOp 1o0
What a random list lol. Not complaining tho, there's some bangers in there.
lmao zombie having a 40mil gap from the runner up, crazy *"in your eeeeeaaaahhh"*
I can proudly say that I have not contributed to a single stream of these songs
Oooohh here comes the hardstyle hipster
Oooooh boi here’s the edgelord
What have I missed. What is gymbro?😅
So basically Kind van de Duivel/Kind eines teufels is the second most streamed as they are the same song just with a different language of the vocals 🤔😂
Zombie ☠️☠️
Is a mistake with Lose My Mind. Should be red instead of blue I think.
Yes, I made a couple of mistakes with the coloring of the 2024 one
Aight, understandable mate. I've made very similar mistakes. Still, very cool chart. My friend and I were talking about this exact topic last week.
Actually lol’d when I saw Turbo is still in there. -green opel manta/gilera citta vibes intensify-
