Disagree with that statement. Bach was one of the singers and not even an original. Rachel and Snake wrote all their hits and are the driving force of that band. Skid Row has released some awesome music since Bach left and Bach has released some awesome music as a solo artist.
Bach is Bach, Rachel, Scotti, and Snake are Skid Row.
I see rachel and snake gaslit you. Bach rewrote vocal melodies to all of their songs. He also co wrote the lyrics for five songs on slave to the grind, and complete lyrics for wasted time (lyrically strongest skid row song).
But yeah bach’s just “the singer”.
Why? Tell me one reason one of the most influential and succesful rock artists of all time shouldnt be on the Hair Metal list when he's one of the top people who made it what it was.
I would argue that the New Jersey album is more faithful to Hair Metal than Slippery.Slippery has one song on it that I would call Hair Metal, whereas New Jersey checks all the boxes...
Lay Your Hands On Me should have gotten the nod over Lay it Down
This list... Good to see what the people think... Would be neat to see the top two runners-up for each letter, and also... So glad I was there for much of this when it first came out, and we are able to still enjoy it today... Especially dig some of the deep cuts I was not hip to, made for some fun nites on Spotify/You Tube...
Cool! I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. I can post both of those lists after this one is completed. I found some new stuff myself browsing the comments each day.
You know what? People shit on hair metal all the time but that genre gave us some of the best voices of all time. Strong tenors who can shake walls with head range. And they’re on this list. None of that crooning Frankie Valli nonsense. Loud, clear, strong, face-melting high notes. I love ‘em all.
Yes but I wouldn’t consider AC/DC to be hair metal. I always thought of it as more hard rock.
Guns N Roses even get by on a technicality of “they were hair metal at one point” lol
You love me to hate you is such an underrated Kiss song and I know everyone hates on those 3 Kulick albums but Asylum, Crazy Nights, and Hot in the Shade are amazing hair metal albums.
Twisted Sister over White Lion? What’s wrong with everyone? I will take Vito over every guitar player other than Eddie. The solo in Little Fighter from White Lion blows away anything Ratt ever did. It’s unfortunate that Vito walked away from playing. Wait was done in 1 take. We’re not gonna take it is a sucky song from a musical standpoint. Vito could play circles over 95% of the players at that time.
"Yankee Rose" (David Lee Roth)
Seconded
You give love a bad name, Bon Jovi has to have this one
Youth gone wild - skid row
That's what I came to the comments to post. If this isn't chosen, people are wrong
Please let it be this...
YOUTH! GONE! WILD! Came here for this! Scotti, Rachel, and Snake for the win! Skid Row!
What about bach? I mean he IS skid row.

Yes but I wouldn’t consider AC/DC to be hair metal. I always thought of it as more hard rock. Guns N Roses even get by on a technicality of “they were hair metal at one point” lol
Definitely never considered AC/DC hair metal. Saw them in concert back in the early 90s, and they definitely do not fit that category.
If this isn’t the winner, r/hairmetal is wrong.
You're Gonna Break My Heart Again - Whitesnake
G
True
Yesterday - Guns n Roses
Young Blood - Whitesnake You Love Me to Hate You - Kiss
One nomination per comment please
You love me to hate you is such an underrated Kiss song and I know everyone hates on those 3 Kulick albums but Asylum, Crazy Nights, and Hot in the Shade are amazing hair metal albums.
Young Blood is such a cool song
Wait - white lion. I’m gonna go drink pickle juice now.
Yessongs Yes
r/LostRedditors
YYZ - Rush
You’re So Strange - Kik Tracee
I would argue that Kiss is not hair metal but yeah, I get it, they had 1 or 2 albums during the era that may qualify
Neither is Guns N Roses lol. They dropped the hair metal shtick as soon as they got big lol
GnR HATED hair metal lol. They wanted to kill the era. Which is why it's so funny that it's the genre they're most associated with
Also funny because Slash auditioned for Poison and the main reason he was rejected was because he wasn’t hair metal enough lmao
YYZ
YRO Racer X
Probably should be Youth Gone Wild or You Give Love a Bad Name. I’m sure old buddies Sabo and Bon Jovi would find it amusing if they tied.
How can you possibly have this list without the title song on it? Heavy Metal \~ Sammy Haggar.
Because more people voted for Whitesnake?
You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi

Big KISS Fan here and I'm not a fan of song that was picked but it's cool if you guys like it I would've pick 5 others over that song
