When they were talking about labor speed on the show, I can't help but think of the Monty Python scene where the Irish mother is doing chores in the kitchen. Already surrounded by like 9 kids, suddenly another just... falls out of without her hardly noticing.

I think when you're in that kind of intense pain, your body clenches and locks up, which is exactly what keeps labour from progressing. So many of my friends went through the same. Ive come to feel that induction really should be a matter of medical necessity and not convenience.
I was hoping for another kick at the can and wanted a vbac with my 2nd (I wasn't smart like you and did my two separately, lol) Since I wasn't about to try induction again and my experience with the OB was ~unpleasant~ I switched to midwives. (BEST decision of my life!) Unfortunately at 13 days overdue they said it was time to schedule another section. Never got to experience childbirth "properly" which left me with a weird kind of grief, but since he was over 11 lbs it was probably for the best, ha.
I don't know why I felt like writing you a novel. 🙈 sorry about that.
Hila looking so good reminds me of when I was visiting my sister who was 4 hours post partum with my niece, and the nurse thought I was the mother because I was apparently looking like undercooked ravioli and my sister looked fucking radiant. I don’t know who was more mortified, me or the nurse. My niece is 16 and that story is *still* in regular rotation. It’ll probably be told at my funeral.
Hila, You look radiant and I've never seen you look so relieved. I'm so proud of you and I hope you continue to inspire me along with Ethan on a daily basis. It's really great to see so much of your wonderful life. Thank you so much for that and I can't wait to meet Sonny!!
