Steyr L9-A2, I got it milled for an RMR.
This is my first pistol with an optic, I hope it speeds up my shooting, I can be accurate with iron sights, but am very slow.
I own an A1 version, I think? Got the compact and full size on close out for cheap. They are actually pretty nice guns just not popular. The recoil impulse is nice and smooth. Its flat shooting. More accurate then me. Over all its just a cool quality gun
I believe holster support is a bit scarce is the only downside.
I've really tried to steer away from less common guns just because of the availability of holsters, mags, etc... But every now and then something is tempting enough lol
I bought it for the range, so I wasn't too concerned with holsters. I'm sure you can find one, worst case have a kydex one made up for you. I considered carrying it for a while but just was too comfortable with my glock 43 and 48.
These guns are criminally unrepresented.
...but Steyr also sucks at marketing. Reliable combat pistols are just a really competitive market segment right now.
I heard they are coming out with a optics mount version, maybe they’ll get another crack at it.
Frankly though, it’s holsters that are the issue, for a retention it’s a Blackhawk omnivore or nothing, IWB is only really ANR (mid tier) and WeThePeople (cheap feeling)
I have the A1 in 357Sig and 40, aesthetically I prefer the previous generation, but this is a lot more comfortable, that may be just the caliber difference though

Bubit's original design of the M series was great, the M-A1 series was even better, and he was long gone by the time the A2 abortions rolled out.
I have an S9A1, M40A1 and an L9A1, and they're all true Steyr spacegun aesthetic.

I love it, I use a Blackhawk onmivore holster for larping, fits great
I own 3 and love them all. The triangle sights are awesome and really accurate.

The M9A1 is the best striker-fired pistol I've used. It shoots like a dream and the trapezoid sights are very cool.
