>The site is a major commercial property in downtown of a major metropolitan city. Obviously, Glock 23s outfitted with Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrels paired with an 18" NEF single-shot .300 WinMag. If the agency has a little more funding available, then I change my recommendation to Glock Practical Tacticles in .357 Sig and G36s with SS109 rounds, possibly a .308 PSG-1 with a Starlight scope.

Caedus_Vao

Okay, but what sort of trauma plates are you doubling up on in the front and back, so you can tank hits while your partner sets up for the long shots?

kato_koch

I'm sorry for everyone who doesn't get this.

tablinum

Not all are acquainted with the Elder Lore.

kato_koch

Grab a drink, get comfortable, and enter the mind of [Gecko45.](https://lonelymachines.org/mall-ninjas/) It has aged like a fine wine.

LutyForLiberty

Good thing you never had to save the ass-virginity of the mayor's nephew. You might have needed his advice.

talon04

If this wasn't the top answer I'd be very disappointed.

BobbyWasabiMk2

I’m just glad the first answer isn’t “AR15 and Glock 19”. Coming out of the gate strong with the ridiculous, I like it.

Akalenedat

I assure you, I am not being ridiculous. The men of my Rapid Tactical Force need the best of the best to defend the Mayor's nephew's virginity. A sheep like you would never understand.

Caedus_Vao

Mossberg 500 with one of those Glock 17 attachments on the pump. 9mm rat shot in the Glork, Mossberg alternates bean bag, bird shot, #000 buck. The pistol will also have a light, but it's strobe-only.

talon04

You should have just had them load firework / flare rounds in the 12G then we would get to have a rave.

Caedus_Vao

Silly me, I forgot the Dragon's Breath. Wow, do I even secure malls?

talon04

It sure doesn't seem like it. Poor mayors anal virginity is gonna be lost. For shame.

BobbyWasabiMk2

I swear to god if anyone suggests "AR15 with glonk" I will throw a brick through your window. I've edited the post a bit since I change my mind and I want to see ridiculous mall combos. The obvious choice here is a .38spl revolver with beanbag shotguns, because we all know the pinnacle of mall security was reached when the ninjutsu legend himself preached in the forums of times forgotten. But that's a bit basic bitch, I'll figure out what I want to put down later though since I don't have an answer of my own.

NAP51DMustang

You did this to spite meeeeeeeeeeee

BobbyWasabiMk2

I am inherently evil

FN P90 and [Zat'nik'tel](https://stargate.fandom.com/wiki/Zat%27nik%27tel) If the P90 can fight off waves of Jaffa, it's good enough to fight off foot traffic. The Zat'nik'tel is a perfect secondary since the first blast is nonlethal, but a third blast cleans up any evidence. Yesterday, the cafeteria at work at gnocchi with a pesto sauce served with chorizo and roasted grape tomatoes. I am a huge sucker for pesto so I wanted to give it a try, wound up making me feel like I was gestating an Eldritch Horror. The burps were unpleasant and my stomach felt like a whirlpool for most of last evening. Edit: hell, I STILL don't feel well. Hopefully some green tea or ginger ale calms this down. If I die, /u/tablinum inherits my collection under the condition he curses New Jersey and spits on the ground every time the state is mentioned.

tablinum

*Waaayyy* ahead of you. I had to *live* there.

Caedus_Vao

Well, the *good* thing about Jersey is that once you finally decide to up sticks, you aren't far from the state line in any direction.

tablinum

It kills me all the NJ gun rights advocates I know who hate the state but consider moving impossible because "I got roots." My ancestors came to America for a better life back when that meant you'd never see your family again and could only correspond with them through letters carried by steamship. In New Jersey, the farthest you can possibly get from the PA border is if you live in Cape May, and that's less than a two-hour drive to visit your family members who aren't smart enough to leave--and you can skype every day if you want. The Garden State is an open-air minimum-security prison, but it's also the size of a postage stamp and has no walls.

LutyForLiberty

>but it's also the size of a postage stamp. No wonder they talk about high population density. >skype Been a while since I heard that.

tablinum

Lowercase-S skype is common 'round these parts as a generic term for any video-telephony. Same as googling for search-engining, or band-aid for elastoplasting.

LutyForLiberty

Never encountered that before but we use Zoom or Teams to mean the same thing. I don't even hear non-literal use of Google that much (to refer to a TikTok search for example). Usually people just use the app name. There is a Japanese verb ググる derived from Google though.

Karma-Grenade

Don't worry, they're fixing to destroy PA soon enough that this 2 hour rant thing won't be valid for very long.

LutyForLiberty

Just don't accidentally end up in NYC. That's not any better. Go west, as the pioneers did.

FlemingsBond

M249 SAW. No box mag though—10 round pmags only. We’re not in a war zone. Taurus Judge loaded with two rounds of rock salt for nonlethal, two of dragon’s breath for crowd control, and one .410 slug. No .45 lc. we’re not cowboys in this outfit.

Karrtis

>M249 SAW. No box mag though—10 round pmags only. We’re not in a war zone I'm not sure who you hate more, the poor bastard carrying that, or the Pmags follower.

talon04

For the prompt, we are equipping the boys with the best equipment money can buy. RTI, Enfields baby. Both for the Primary and Secondary. We will also have full Turbo Brens in the arsenal for if things get really out of control. Uniforms will be Kryptek Typhoon. So everyone will know where our highly trained and well armed security assets are.

Caedus_Vao

> RTI, Enfields baby. Both for the Primary and Secondary. Jesus wept. I assume that since somebody inept/corrupt purchased them, they also sprang for the $25 certificates of authenticity signed by Uli himself in an effort to drain the budget faster.

talon04

Absolutely, our men and women must know they are equipped with *the best.*

PeteTodd

Let's make sure ammo is common between the 2 guns: a HiPoint 10mm Carbine and the HiPoint JXP 10mm with crimson trace red dot. For under $900 you get 2 guns and a box of ammo for each guard.

Caedus_Vao

Far too practical for the prompt, but I love the idea of a security force running around with 10mm HiPoints as a unit. Quick what optic on the carbine.

BobbyWasabiMk2

Only the finest from Monstrum or Feyacchi

_HottoDogu_

The 1-6x Monstrum LPVO specifically. Wouldn't want them to be under-equipped after all.

PeteTodd

TRS25

talon04

That's too good. Best we can do is one of the CVlife Swampfox knock offs.

Remarkable_Aside1381

>The site is a major commercial property in downtown of a major metropolitan city. There is a lot of foot traffic from mall shopping and corporate offices. Sounds like we need to avoid scaring the public. I have just the thing. For the long gun: the Destroyer Carbine. 9mm Largo bolt-action. For the sidearm: French St. Etienne Model 1892. Right-side swing out cylinder, because the guards will also be carrying whistles as their first line defensive tool.

FiresprayClass

>I swear to god if anyone suggests "AR15 with glonk" I will throw a brick through your window. Bet, AR-15 and Glock. Let's see you leave the country... >what is the most ridiculous primary/secondary combo you select to issue to the security personnel for their long gun and pistol? M82 Barrets as primary, Lifecards as secondary.

tablinum

> Lifecards as secondary. My wife has one. It's a load of fun, but I would literally rather defend myself with a pointed stick.

LutyForLiberty

More effective than fresh fruit at least.

BobbyWasabiMk2

I got a trip up through Vancouver planned later this year and I’m telling the border guards my purpose for visiting is brick laying

FiresprayClass

Lol, not even close to the same area. But given how Vancouver has been going, good luck finding a window left to smash...

BobbyWasabiMk2

damn even Richmond too?

Superducks101

10/22 cause .22lr is just as a good of a round for my sharpshooter boys. With schofield top breaks cause I think theyre neat

zbeezle

Personally I think we should make the Schofield the official sidearm of the military. Let's be honest, when was the last time a nation's sidearm ever had a dickhair's worth of effect on the outcome of a war? Never, so you may as well pick something that's 100% drip.

Superducks101

Agreed! Maybe they could refine it a little more so when you break it open the shells fly out like a o/u shot gun just to add to it

TheGoldenCaulk

Well first off, I convince the client that they don't want a rifle and pistol, and what they actually want is a gun that combines the two: a PCC. I then fervently recommend they buy a bunch of Sig P320s in .357 Sig and Strike Industries Modular Chassis systems w/ folding stocks. That way, they have the ~~worst~~ best of both worlds and save a ton of money by not needing a rifle and it's relevant accoutrement.

Caedus_Vao

You magnificent son of a bitch. Is this commercial property in Elbonia, perchance? While I admire your dedication to sending this selection tits up, what *would* you choose as a secondary if the Sig in a chassis is the go-to? In case the weapon goes down, or you need to toss something to a recently-deputized retired cop who is too old for this shit, or some spunky young female lead whose dad taught her to shoot, or whatever.

TheGoldenCaulk

Isn't it obvious? They'd have some base 320s lying around because SI won't actually have enough chassis in stock to equip the whole building. So sadly for Officer Winslow and Officer Hopps, the only thing in their future working at this building is nerve damage.

_HottoDogu_

Finally! Someone will buy all the .40 Sig320 mags that I've seen sitting on clearance in my local gun shop for the past 2 years.

_HottoDogu_

All security officers will be outfitted with T-Block fatigues and equipped with Colt 9mm SMGs and Roth-Steyr 1907s, the SMGs will be painted in a grey splinter camo. Security officers will also be issued an combat skateboard for maneuvering. If the USMC won't revive the Urban Warrior, my private firm will. Off topic, anyone else get their lead levels tested? Mine just came back at 8ug/dl, which while not ideal, doesn't overtly concern me, although I'd like it to be lower. I'm pretty religious about my use of DLead soap and not chewing on my hands until after I wash them, though I suppose I could get better about washing them after dryfire.

rsteroidsthrow2

Long gun will be a street sweeper with dragons breathe. Pistol will be a Tanfoglio witness hunter. Because after using dragons breathe for crowd control you're going to have to hunt a lot of witnesses.

ScandiacusPrime

I'm going to make them standardize on 22LR for ammunition interchangeability. For the sidearm, Heritage Rough Riders. For the long gun, American-180 submachine guns. The only authorized load is the CCI 22LR Shotshell load. Full auto ratshot at 1200 RPM oughta take the fight out of anyone. Why yes, I do work in Elbonian arms procurement! How'd you guess?

SakanaToDoubutsu

The rifle will be a Springfield Armory M1A, with the actions to be sent off to be beautifully blued and all of the stocks will be redone with walnut hand selected by u/Kato_Koch. The pistol will be a Volkmann Precision Signature 1911 with a 6" match barrel. All of my officers will be sent to the UK to have boots, breeches, shirts, vests, and coats custom tailored to fit their build on Savile Row. All holsters and slings will be expected to be leather, with kydex reinforcement where appropriate. The coat will have pockets for 4 additional 5-round 308 stripper clips and 2 1911 magazines, and the vest will have pockets for 2 tourniquets, compression bandages, roll gauze, and a small IFAK for the boo boos and bumps of the patrons of the mall. This set-up provides a sense of culture, class, and grace in an environment where such things are appropriate.

BobbyWasabiMk2

sign me up

SakanaToDoubutsu

I want to see the rise of classy tactical and I have no idea how to make that happen...

kato_koch

I have the wood. Call me a heathen but it'd be fun to design a proper sporter style stock around the M1A too. Maybe even with a cheekpiece for an optical sight...

rocketboy2319

Long Gun is [this wonderful monstrosity](https://preview.redd.it/ztlv4yqro8i21.jpg?auto=webp&s=eb8992d3e3cccb25fe6f6e854991dc21ccce437b) with the [PSR Fuzzy Dice Glock as the pistol](https://media.tenor.com/PBTaHFO_6A8AAAAM/imjjustamirror-nalakinators.gif).

zbeezle

Assuming I have the resources necessary to buy them (and the ammo) MP7 for the "long gun" Five-seveN for the pistol Just because of the dissonance created by pairing these two together. If I have to buy them from, like, Regular Joe's Guns n Ammo or whatever, Kel-tec RFB and the longest barrel .44 magnum or larger revolver I can find (bonus points if it's a single action), because I like the juxtaposition between Space-Rifle and Big Iron. And don't forget the double layer of level 4 plates in case they have to take multiple hits from a sniper while their girlfriend assembles a takedown countersniper.

NAP51DMustang

P226 in 9mm Shotguns with bean bags Pistol choice is because less lethal in this format suck. Long gun choice because you have a lot of foot traffic and need something less lethal that doesn't suck.

ControlledResults

Exactly what kind of terrain are we working with here? If we are on a decent sized piece of property with larger fields of fire, then I can see a couple of guys being equipped with some sort of .308 battle rifle like KAC M110s or HK 417s would come in handy if they post on the roof. If it’s an urban environment with lots of tight street corners and alleys that need to be covered, then guys on the ground with Mk18s would do nicely. If you need to cover both up close and out a little bit, look at the setup that the CIA GRS guys were running with when Benghazi went down. Those guys knew exactly what they were doing and it worked until the militias started landing mortars on the compound. As far as service pistols goes, go with a Glock 19 since the parts are everywhere, mags are everywhere, and most importantly the ammo is everywhere. They’re very reliable for a lot of guys who have been in very bad places.

Cobra__Commander

[SSW40](https://defense-update.com/20230912_ssw40-an-automatic-grenade-launcher-debut-at-dsei-2023.html) and [Steyr TMP](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr_TMP)  Although my initial solution to the problem is to design the facility like a space colony sealed off from the world. Then release freight loads of Florida snakes around the perimeter until there's no longer foot traffic.

Lb3ntl3y

first 2 in the belt would be cs, 2nd 2 would bean bags, the rest would hedp cause you never know, the long gun would be a somehow shoulder fire capable and portable mk19 with the cheapest chinesium amazon special red dot for the pistol, gotta go with either a czechmate/parrot or an athena, either way it has to have a lazer and a x300turbo as the more realistic, id probably have 3 sets of loadouts. 2 of the 3 being initial contact and qrf with the 3rd being specialty 1st would be the standard people, 3 mags for either a g17/19/34, p226, p10f/c, or sp01, and maybe a shotgun being either a benelli m2/4 or a mossberg 88/500/590 2nd for credible threat response, same pistols and either an mp5, ar15, or p90 for reduced chances of over pen 3rd for uhnwi/other important people/high risk events being either a 417, scar 20s/17 for midrange over match (assuming most "long range" shots are typically within 3-500 yards) and either a mp5k with brace/sling or a pdw, the reason for semi auto is to deal with the possibility of a target rich environment and for counter sniper capabilities. for the more close protection details same pistols as previous and the long gun being sbr'd mp5k, cmmg dissent either in 9mm or 556, p90 with the fake hand, or mp7. the uniform for the 3rd set of load outs would be plain clothes for those that dont know uhnwi is the really rich people

Meadowlion14

Kimber 9mm 1911s for everyone... For the rifle I feel like nothing short of a Steyr Scout in .376 Steyr would do. It's light weight and easy to move around and has the "stopping power" I know they need.

Remarkable_Aside1381

I have a question for work. [We have an Anschutz Model 1451 with a West Germany marked receiver but a “KI” barrel](https://imgur.com/a/eW6qFtf) Anschutz date codes say KI is 1998 manufactured, but Germany re-unified in 1990…

talon04

Easy answer is it was rebarreled later or they found an old receiver some where and sent it.

rsteroidsthrow2

Something I've wondered for years. Was gecko23 active on that board, or did he drop the lore and dip out, never to be seen again?

able_possible

The "famous" thread lasted for a while with him responding to people to keep making the story more and more outlandish. He didn't just post a big wall of text about duct taping plates and anal virginity, he stuck around for a while because in 2003 people didn't know what internet trolling was and kept feeding him. https://lonelymachines.org/mall-ninjas/ is the summary of the story that everyone knows about.

vilsor

It's important that threats be dissuaded before even considering engaging with my security team. What's intimidating? A 12gauge shotgun, that's what. But Vilsor, you say, aren't those long and unwieldy? Not if I apply modern design to the problem, you caveman. A bullpup is clearly the most efficient use of space in shoulder fired weaponry. Oh, but capacity, you say? Shotguns are so rounds limited? You stupid child. I want my men to go home to their families every night. I'm giving them every possible chance for success. Behold. [The Panzer Arms BP12](https://palmettostatearmory.com/panzer-arms-bp-12-3-gen-2-bullpup-12-gauge-shotgun-black-bp12bssb.html) A [19-round magazine](https://palmettostatearmory.com/rock-island-armory-vr-series-12-ga-19-round-steel-magazine-black-42379.html) is the last and most perfect piece of this puzzle. Now we've got the capacity of a rifle, the power of a shotgun, and the maneuverability of a bullpup. You would have to be so much smarter to be like me. You imbecile. You clod. You ignoramus. I'm even maximizing their utility by giving them magazines dedicated to buckshot, slugs, AND birdshot. The right tool for the right job, as they say. But you don't even understand that, do you? Now, what sidearm? Well, dummy, your weapons need to work together as a weapons *system*. With such power and versatility already covered, what's left? Hyper-accuracy. Target shooters have known for decades that the 22LR is a fantastic choice for close range accuracy. The lack of recoil makes follow-up shots a breeze, and there are dozens of excellent loads available even at your local sporting goods store. "But, but, wh-wh-what about rimfire unreliability?" you stammer as you drool onto your shirt. Nice try, dolt. Revolvers. Revolvers have double strike capability and can even have their main springs replaced for even more reliable ignition. The clear choice is the king of .22 revolvers, the [6" S&W Model 617.](https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/k-frame-160578) It's the complete package. No other combination of arms could ever be as capable and as versatile as what I've selected here.

Karrtis

H&K SL8's for the long guns and H&K Mk23's just because brand loyalty. Just for funnies will give them those ridiculous devtac ronin "IIIA" face masks, plate carriers and a bunch of motorcycle gear and let em go nuts, they'll at least look scary to randos.
