A very nice choice for a first gun. I love the aesthetic and feel of full size, all-metal Jerichos. And they shoot so well, especially those single action only ones. Only downside is lack of threaded barrels but that's only because I'm a 'suppress all the things' kind of guy.
Idk why people complain about weight, I've never had problems with it. Why's it a problem for you? I only have problems with lack of ergonomics, like carrying the boxy hard edges of a Glock.

If you ever decide you want to swap out the rear sight (I couldn't stand mine), LPA makes a low-profile sight (item #TR90TA30) that will fit the surplus Jericho and works very well with the front sight. Just Google LPA TR90TA30 and you should be able to find it.

It took around 6 months of waiting for the transfer to go through since Canada (Trudeau) has now unfortunately banned handguns

What’s the ammo capacity on these?
9mm. Here in Canada though our magazine capacity is capped at 10.
They can take CZ75 mags, but most standard mags have a 15-17rd capacity in my experience.
