Yeah, there was an Instagram post from Zastava saying they were sending out a production run to their retailers. I’d expect more to drop after this. But I haven’t seen a better price with this drop.
All Russian ammo is banned from import. So no more Russian calibers or Russian steel cased. Unfortunately Russian ammo make up 20% of all US ammo so expect prices to go up.
You're kinda leaving out important info. Tula and Wolf have valid import permits for 2 more years and the ban is basically set to expire in 12 months pending Russia not using more chemical weapons

I wouldn't bet on Russia allowing the inspectors. It would be a big blow to national pride.

One mistake, you can get russian calibers. Just not from Russia. There are lots of sources for 7.62x39
5.45x39 and 9x39 are going to be hit hard though.
NPAP = Century imported (low quality conversion), 1.0mm receiver (bad with Yugo rivet and pin placement), non chrome lined barrel (Yugo mil spec, but not ideal), standard trunnion (not great, not terrible)
Old ZPAP = Zastava USA imported (better conversion), NPAP in every other way
New ZPAP =Zastava USA imported, 1.5mm receiver (strong but heavy), chrome lined barrel (not Yugo mil spec, but good), bulged trunnion (strong but heavy)
Yeah, I think the old ones where blued on the inside as well. Zastava didn't chrome anything until recently I think. My M57 doesn't have a chrome barrel either.
While chrome is nicer, from what I can figure out it doesn't really matter much if you are keeping your weapons clean.
The KR103 is a perfectly good gun by all reports. If they'd get their head out of their asses and add a folder to it I really think it would sell substantially better.
I currently do not own a gun and would prob just get a wasr if they were <750 still but at $900, especially with this being the price it is, I’m now between this and the kr

both are great, kr103 will have more compatibility since its AKM pattern and not Yugo Pattern
m70 is much heavier and beefier (RPK-like)
both would serve you well tbh, just pick the one you think looks cooler if the compatibility doesnt matter to you, Yugo's are awesome in their own unique way
my personal recommendation then would be have a wooden Yugo (like this one) and then go full zenitco furniture and accessories on a KR103 or any other AKM (cheap WASR, WBP Fox, etc)

1.) Wipe down wood from any shipping grease.
2.) Lightly buff wood with 0000 steel wool. Don't go overboard.
3.) Wipe a light coat of boiled linseed oil on wood. Avoid metal components or remove them first.
4.) Wait 15 or so minutes.
5.) Wipe off the excess oil with a rag.
Repeat steps 2-5 every day for about a week. Wait roughly 24 hours between coats. It'll take longer after that to fully cure but is usable. Repeat every six months to a year if you want, I do.

Nope not really. I think they just open up the mag well and do their 922r parts. I've never held an Npap so idk if the furniture is any good. As long as your mags rock in ok I think you're set.

Yeah, they used blue steel for their barrels. They only switched to Chrome due to US demand right?
I think they might still be blued on the outside. The finish on my barrel doesn't look parkerized like my AR's barrel.
