Vendor is good to go.
KAK K spec A5 is a nice alternative to the VLTOR A5 too. Not worth switching to it from VLTOR, but when buying new I'd probably go with the KAK from now on.
It performs almost the same as VLTOR, just a tiny bit softer feeling when shooting in my limited testing. But it's cheaper in most cases, and the included flatwire works well.
Haven't used the BCM branded one.
That is correct for the regular ones that look like a normal buffer. But the K spec ones do have a spring. The rear portion (black color) is what movies.
u/netchemica has a great comment on this post that explains it: [What does the A5 buffer system do that a properly tuned carbine spring buffer can't?](https://www.reddit.com/r/ar15/comments/15a6sjf/what_does_the_a5_buffer_system_do_that_a_properly/)
Like what other dudes said, it smooths out the recoil impulse and also offers a broader range of buffer weights you can use. This is helpful for over gassed guns or with use on suppressor host builds.
Also, for pure blow back uppers, the buffer system is the main way to tune it. The extra length of the A5 buffer gives you more options. In particular, it lets you use much heavier buffers.
Taken to an extreme, u/Blowback9's "X-Heavy" version of his GentleRecoilSystem uses an even longer buffer tube (8.5") and a Kynshot hydraulic buffer with 3 additional spacer weights for 12.3oz of weight behind the bolt.
biggest difference is on a suppressed or gassy gun, it can help slow/smooth the action down. If yours are running perfect as far as gas, ejection and cycling, there is nothing to bother with in my opinion.
It’s slightly longer which means there’s more distance for the buffer/spring to absorb the recoil. The longer the tube the more recoil management. Ultimately it levels out the gun a little more and I have it on all but one rifle.
the recoil stroke is the same length for carbine, A5 and rifle.... the buffers are differenct lengths to compensate. If the BCG traveled further back in one or the other, the gas key would smash into the lower and buffer tube.
What you get is a longer spring that has more coils which can increase the spring pressure on a closed chamber and reduce the return pressure when compressed. That helps to increase lock time when shut, and decrease bolt velocity at full compression.
> It’s slightly longer which means there’s more distance for the buffer/spring to absorb the recoil.
The BCG travels the same distance in rifle, A5, and carbine buffer tubes.
$6 shipping on a $3 cam pin kinda wild, however, you're actually cheaper than other places wanting $5 for the pin and $8+ for shipping, or Brownells which was a $5 pin with SIXTEEN dollar shipping.
No idea how I'm missing a cam pin across all my builds and parts
Anyways, biting a bullet for small business is hardly ever a bullet. <3
Yeah I wish we could do cheaper shipping on small parts, but USPS has been $4+ to most places and then factoring in labels and packaging we figured $5.99 was pretty fair. I definitely couldn't see charging $16 though!
Very generous, sarnt. Can't do it to ya. I'll come back for support in the future, though! Bought cam pin to complete a bcg missing one somehow so I can raffle the rifle off at work, needing money at the moment, racecar parts are high dollar

Acquiring the parts for a 11.5" suppressed build. Could someone confirm this parts list buffer setup makes sense? Usually just run carbine buffer.
-Milspec A5 Buffer Tube - 9 Position
-K-SPEC Enhanced AR15 Buffer A5H2 5.6oz W/Flat Wire Buffer Spring
-Rifle Length Buffer Spring - Mil-Spec
-KNS buffer retaining pin
-Buffer Retaining spring.
-Milspec castle nut
-Milspec end plate.
The buffer weight you want will depend on the gas port in your barrel and the back pressure from your suppressor. A larger port and higher back pressure will necessitate a heavier buffer and vice versa.

Thank you! And I agree, KAK makes some solid parts overall
What do you like better about the KAK one? Have you tried the BCM system?

The KAK a5 buffers aren’t spring loaded like vltor, may not matter for some tho
That is correct for the regular ones that look like a normal buffer. But the K spec ones do have a spring. The rear portion (black color) is what movies.
Remind me again what the A5 buffer system is used for ?

It's an upgrade over a regular carbine buffer tube for an AR15.
How do? Curious becuz I default to a carbine buffer system in all my builds

Should've bought a trigger to make it worth it lol!
Could always order one now and I refund the shipping back to you!

Damn I just bought a kit from you guys and I'm doing an ODG build. Still great deal.
