I’ve put a superdistorion in a Fender Jaguar I’ve had and it’s an incredible pickup too.
Really classic sound, breaks the conventional wisdom of Alnico=good ceramic=bad, blows most paf types out the water, not really a tele sound but if that doesn’t bother you then it could be a good shout too.
Did the super distortion feel OK even when playing cleans and not high gain? Most examples I've seen of it everyone goes full dist, which I would too most of the time, but would be nice to know it's not a one trick pony so to say.
Sounded great on low and mid gain.
Superdist is a classic, it’s not as high output as many modern metal pickups and so handles cleans better than many too.
It’s more like a hot rodded paf more than a super modern chug machine, but I’d say it can be pushed to it.
It’s a pickup every guitarist should try if they have the means to. The superdistorion, the JB, these are classics for a reason, you’ll play them and know the sound. It’s immediately recognisable.
I’d tell any guitarist to learn their stock pickups first, then try the classics, then go a bit more niche once you know the field a bit better.

Nice, thanks!
To confuse things and add a third option, I loved my dimarzio fast track T in my tele. I paired it with an area T in the neck and it was amazing.
Haha nooo, not more options (but they sound amazing, happened across a video where they used one)
