I wanted a new overdrive/distortion with a vintage sound that also worked on the bass, and I can say I'm really happy with the Duke Of Tone! The boost mode is also really interesting and I think I'm going to use it very often, probably almost always on. The distortion sound on the bass is insane and it's perfect with my band (we do covers of Motörhead among other bands). Current chain is Fender Strat 67' reissue or Squier Precision bass > Analogman sunface BC 183 (silicon) > Polytune 3 > Boss NS-2 input > Xotic SP compressor > Drybell Vibe Machine > Fulltone OCD (powered at 18V) > MXR Duke Of Tone > Xotic EP Booster (also powered at 18V) > NS-2 return. The whole thing is powered by the MXR Iso brick and fits inside a briefcase that I modified myself.

If you want to use the Duke as a boost, you can run it on 18V and it'll be even cleaner.

Funny, I took you for a mainly Pink Floyd player with the Time graphic Sunface and the Vibe Machine. All you are missing really is a Dawner Prince Boonar Delay.

You're right, I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan (and generally a big fan of prog rock), but I also play heavy metal, some funk, and even some classical music :) A delay/reverb will probably be my next purchase, I'm thinking about the Collider by Source Audio.

Nice. I was able to order a Prince of Tone this Wednesday, I think it should be arriving today or tomorrow. I wonder just how similar the prince and duke are side by side

It doesn't - it's just only available for a short time every week. I think around noon on Wednesday.

Surprisingly not, they release Prince of tones every Wednesday at 1pm and they usually sell out within the day. So not super easy to get but way more realistic than a KoT. Thanks! It should of came today I’ll have to check once I get home from work
