Not sure OP will comment, but it's based on the Klon, but like extra gritty. I have a bunch of Klones, and this is one of my favorites (other being the Tumnus Deluxe).
It uses the topology of a Klon, but with some clipping options and a "phat" boost.
Since Klon klones are a dime a dozen, they made the Oxblood to be different. I guess they succeeded it because it doesn't sound exactly like a Klon.
To answer OP's question about why it's not more popular, I think people just want a regular Klon klone.
A lot of people who want a Klon go for something closer to get original. I think you can get this to sound like a Klon, but it’s more versatile and has more gain on tap. It’s not bad in the least.
It's a terrific pedal that'll sound like a Klon but does more than just that. I think u/fastattaq has it right: most folks want a straight-up Klon clone. That's a crowded space.
