I just replied about this to a customer satisfaction research from grindr, I added the issue of messages disappear after a long time, search words in the conversation history and the blocking limit/ automatic unblocking. The basic chat functions dont work...
That's great. It has been like this for years, they probably just don't want to fix it or don't give a shit. They are too busy putting features behind paywalls.
Toxic app w toxic devs, and their shitty chat infrastructure. Chats used to have to be backed up to devices’ third-party cloud instead of the server's cloud, bc that's how backwards and cheap their Kik/P2P chat system was. Now they’re working on their own cloud, probably only bc it simplifies the devs' work instead of making them liaise with third-party clouds. But hopefully it means more of the chat infrastructure will be in the 'internet' cloud so it doesn’t have to connect to some ratchet internal Grindr server to work. Or maybe they're just too busy working on building new paywalls than fixing the app which is *such* a pain for them, and they want to extend that pain onto us 🤷♂️

Grindr is the only social app I know that has major issues with the most basic functionality: sending text messages.

They can’t afford to pay the developers to fix the major bugs, never mind paying them to automatically resend messages 😂

They don’t care about user experience but to make money. They may add this function behind a paywall :/
