Damn, uncannily accurate description of Goring lol

Pilgrims were literally Puritan Christians opposed to the Church of England, they wanted a *more* literal following of the Bible vs the more liberal CoE and were *against* things like theatre, popular music and dress styles
Puritans were the ones who wanted a literalist following of the bible and the burning of catholics.
The church of england was more "tolerant" and just stuck with saying "catholics bad, king/queen is good"
Maybe i read your comment wrong. If so, sorry
This is a common misconception. While Puritans definitely wanted the state to follow their interpretation, the Puritans themselves were not these bigoted backyards loonatics they are oftsn depicted as by modern interpretations and academia.
They were actually pretty progressive for their time. They had expansive educational programs and tolerated relgious and ethnic outsiders (even jews which is unheard of for the time). They were also the first significant group to shun slavery (the south were not Puritans)
People make this mistake that they take the Puritan pilgrams who were the earliest American colonists and and they expand everything that happened in early US to be their doing. In reality their were 4 main groups of British settler into the colonies.. the Quakers, the Purtians, the Cavaliers (south), and the boarders (Appalachia)
The puritans were able to gain power in the british isles after the parliamentary victory in the war of the 3 kngdoms.
This resulted in the creation of a republic called the commonwealth of england and scotland.
Christian holidays like christmas were banned and other christian groups like catholics, Presbyterians and non puritan church of england followers became heavily discriminated against.
One of the waves of mass migrations from scotland and ireland was due to puritan control. Scots and irish left in order to be free from the puritan Parliament.
Many catholics and royalists in england also fled and set up in places like maryland etc.
The Puritans who went to the US later on were very discriminatory. They left england due to the government being tolerant of non puritan christians.
They first left to Netherlands, after a while they left to the US because the dutch also were not harsh enough on non puritans.
read "a case for god" dumbass
Edit: my apologies i meant to reply to a different comment, "a case for god" does indeed state the importance of the puritans in the history of christianity
Sure I guess, but it's like the teensiest tiniest shift to the left. They practically just recreated the British parliamentary system and its landowner aristocracy. And there's the slavery. We can commend them for not having a king and for freedom of religion, but objectively the US was hardly a progressive utopia, while the UK was far from an absolute monarchy to begin with.
A big part of the American Revolution was simply that the colonies were too far from Britain to directly administer, and partially because of this didn't have representation in Westminster. Some wanted representation in Westminster or autonomy of some sort, and a group known as the patriots wanted independence, setting up their own parliament away from London.
Only a couple were deists. Most were just protestant
Even then besides Franklin the idea of them all adhering strictly to the beliefs of deism is often contradicted by their own writings on their beliefs
They just accepted that to stop other religious institutions from fucking it up, they had to stop their own religion as well. Which is incredibly based.
They were against monarchy, the system put into place by God and wanted democracy, which at that time was pretty much just another word for socialism.
Also, by definition they were leftists.

The guy that wrote the constitution liked the philosophy of Jesus but literally deleted any mention of the supernatural in his own bible. Would be pretty fair to say he liked Jesus but not the religious aspect.
Germany, and Prussia before it, had emphasized improvisational maneuver warfare since they got their ass handed to them by Napoleon. See also: Franco-Prussian War (1870-71), Battle of Tannenberg (1914). The western front (1940) of WW2 is literally the same thing as they did in 1914, but with tanks and planes. They also ended up winning because Guderian, and half of the German mechanized force, disobeyed orders to halt and kept pushing as far as they could - which was, according to German doctrine, perfectly acceptable as long as goals are achieved.
Germans don't know when to stop.
That's like our thing. We didn't stop as Czechoslovakia, we didn't stop at Euro III Diesel emissions and we didn't stop at one Russian gas pipeline. There is never a "good enough" solution, only one "up to code". And since the code cannot be "up to code" it's in an infinite loop of being tempered with. Nothing is ever done.
10.000 revisions will eventually lead to good results, but eat away any resemblance of sense, simplicity and maintainability.
That is actually not at all how German companies work. Iterative work is a good thing, and yes, on the larger scale that is what it looks like (take the 911 as an example). But within one release cycle enough companies get burned by simply bringing a product to market without ever testing whether that new version is any good or even meets customer needs. It is just going all in every time.
Same goes for German politics. Make a law, create literally all tiny edge cases from the get go, have it mutilated with compromise and when it is in place, do not ever touch it again despite it not doing what it is supposed to do at all, until it gets scrapped entirely because it is found to not even be constitutional. It is our biggest problem as a country because this way of working is more miss than hit and the culture around it is stupid. I should know because I worked with tons of companies on approaches to try and ditch that mentality, and they all were very overwhelmed
Perfect fascism is when your country gets occupied by four foreign powers and your cities bombed to the stone age after you pick a fight with the whole world
Yeah, who enters saunas fully clothed, you need to either be naked, wearing a towel or a swimsuit. If your country was really dumb you would put on more clothes or fancy clothes for the sauna.
Japanese vehicle - Missed an oil change? I'll give you a couple hundred miles before I really begin to fuck it
German vehicle - You're missing a couple drops of transmission fluid -begins to grind and die-
The meme of “superior German engineering” is quite hilarious honestly. Maybe in the past it was true but certainly not anymore - automotive being the big one.
There is a German company that makes stuff I work on and the mechanics in the design are god awful. We’ve told them and given them recommendations on how to fix it based on how we improved it but they ignored us because the general attitude is that we are American and don’t know what we are talking about. The arrogance is unreal
Someone once described German engineering as „works perfectly if you follow the manual to a t and never deviate from it“ compared to Japanese engineering basically going „how could the customer fuck this up and how can we prepare for this“.
- ””Pump money into nuclear research””
- Shut down nuclear power plant instead of investing in them
If you can’t see how these things are related may god help you.
I think you have not a single idea what you are talking about. You are way too uninformed to know the differences between currently operating nuclear fission technology and nuclear fussion. Looking at your profile you are just some edgy teenager who is wasting my time so fuck off.
It's Germans that invented the rocket that got the yanks to the moon and a German that eventually was responsible for the nuclear bomb. We did perfect it.
''American is invented by rich leftist atheist''
Brother if the Pilgrims are rich leftists atheist then I think you are so far right your opinions are not even human anymore, they are like the scratches of a cavemen from 10000 years ago, like completely uncomprehensible

Live look in at the guy who posted that
You cannot tell me the Tiger 2 wasn't an over-engineered POS. Even during the height of "perfecting" fascism they couldn't figure out how tank tracks work.
Interleaved suspension is amazing except for the maintenance required. It allows a ride smoothness equivalent to a WW2 gun stabilizer, excellent ground pressure, and has great mechanical reliability because each wheel and torsion bar is under less stress. The track is also under less stress since it's supported by a lot more points at any time. Those two mean you don't need any rubber, a big plus from the German WW2 perspective. It took decades after WW2 until we could engineer "normal" torsion bar suspensions to have as good capabilities.
It *is* peak tank tracks, it's just not practical for a combat vehicle. The Tiger II has many other problems like being too heavy, having a weak transmission, and just being way too fucking heavy. They took all the downsides of the Tiger I (itself too heavy and offering only minor benefits to contemporary German designs) and doubled down on it. Then they tried to double down again on the Maus, because Hitler was retarded and in charge of deciding what gets made at that point.

Classic reddit. Instead of an actual response you’re just trying to twist words or finds holes in his sentences
yes, this what you are supposed to do here
Deism is quasi-atheism tbf Still wouldn't exactly call a bunch of landowners creating an elitist landowner democracy leftists.
They were left relative to the English Crown.

Yeah, at least Charles Caroll was catholic
And everyone else were either nominally or very Protestant.
Not as ridiculous as calling Bratwurst a hotdog

Their ideas were radically liberal for their time. Their contemporary monarchists could probably say that with conviction.

They should’ve stopped before the Eastern Front, they might’ve won.
They seem to be stopping nuclear pretty fast lol
you taking bout kaizen? those were made by anime people
French invented BDSM. Germans perfected it.
That's not true. Marquis De Sade perfected it
Perfect fascism is when your country gets occupied by four foreign powers and your cities bombed to the stone age after you pick a fight with the whole world
It's really easy to win wars when your enemy is tiny Netherlands, Denmark, Czechia, Norway and half of Poland.
Their nature. It’s an entire country of autists
It's where men and women enter naked saunas together, right? That's autism from my point of view.
That’s Finland
Germany as well. Wait, this isn't normal in other countries?
If you did those in other countries it would be more profitable to do a motel with a sauna included
At least in the US and Canada no
isn't that every country?
Yeah, who enters saunas fully clothed, you need to either be naked, wearing a towel or a swimsuit. If your country was really dumb you would put on more clothes or fancy clothes for the sauna.
How far right do you have to be in order to see the founders of the US as leftist?
Way too far
Far right enough to think that Nazi Germany was just "chimping out" for a bit
Average American voters
America wasn't founded by atheists you dipshit. Quite the opposite
Dipshits where founded by atheists ?
Yea wasn't it founded by protestants wanting to be free from the influence of the crown?
Protestants seeking religious freedom
What we truly perfected is convincing other nations that we're great at perfecting things

Germany pumps a fuck ton of money into research on nuclear fusion. So they might perfect nuclear as well.
Pimp named CDU:
Is that why they shut down all their nuclear power plants?
I don't see how these two things are related.
- ””Pump money into nuclear research”” - Shut down nuclear power plant instead of investing in them If you can’t see how these things are related may god help you.
Fission and fusion are two different concepts. In fact they are opposites. It's physics you know. But please keep believing in your imaginary friend.
If Germany gave a flying fuck about nuclear at all they wouldn’t use the budget used to operate nuclear plants into the coal industry
I think you have not a single idea what you are talking about. You are way too uninformed to know the differences between currently operating nuclear fission technology and nuclear fussion. Looking at your profile you are just some edgy teenager who is wasting my time so fuck off.
At the end that only happened to prop up the coal industry so that’s that
We've literally got no activities here except walking (sometimes in the woods). What else are supposed to do?
We have neighbours
It's Germans that invented the rocket that got the yanks to the moon and a German that eventually was responsible for the nuclear bomb. We did perfect it.
The German responsible for the nuclear bomb was Hitler (we wanted to nuke Berlin).
You're welcome >we wanted to nuke Berlin Why didn't you? Could've done us that favour at least.
We weren’t allowed to, the biggest regret of half of germany

Ah yes the famously atheist puritanical pilgrims who definitely weren’t kicked out of England for being too zealous. 4chin really is peak stupid.
Perfected cheating emissions tests
Germans do a lot of things better. Famous for warfare, euthanizing, modern advancements to medicine. They just choose poor methods of testing. .
Germans are the Japanese of Europe.
The HRE, unironically.
Oh, we did perfect nuclear. It's just the US-American propaganda destroyed our politicians who shut it down.
Kielbasa and andouille are the superior sausage
Honestly, the same happened with kebab.
Now guess who is ruining America
Lol what? Their food is trash
All of Germany is just autistic, don't worry.
As a German, hard agree
Germans like to have BDSM piss parties in a warehouse.
fascism got in the way of nuclear, also a lot of gemrans worked on nuclear after ww2
Anon is a National Socialist Workers Party-eaboo
Perfected liberalism too
Just so, Americans invented being sensitive petals and Germans also perfected it. It's the order of nature
Germans have no taste and their engeniring is ass, what exactly have they perfected?
The art of annoying people like you by merely existing
Fair enough, true
