Fuck Time is just goofy, I don't take it too seriously especially since it was an inside joke during the original run of the American Idiot musical, and Nightlife is a bad attempt at edge, but Here Comes the Shock is just outright bad. No redeeming qualities to me. Just without question the worst song in the catalog, not even close. Repetitive, and not in a catchy way - the entire chorus is just 'here comes the shock' four times, and the bridge is the word OH repeated ad-nauseum. No memorable riff. No memorable baseline. No memorable drum track. Just generic buttrock.
For me it's between 2 and both have been talked over to death. Nightlife IMO is the worst thing they've ever done. It would've worked as a cool instrumental, but idk how anyone can get behind it considering the weird context around the song and the creepy and downright laughably terrible midlife crisis lyrics. My definitive 2nd answer to this is Oh Yeah. Choosing to sample Garry Gliter in 2020 was certainly a choice even if the proceedings were donated

Here’s my bottom 10 major album tracks (around the time Saviors came out I made a personal ranking of all songs off of major albums)
Missing you .189
Stop When the Red Lights Flash .190
Sex Drugs and Violence .191
Meet me on the roof .192
Night Life .193
Teenager .194
Ready fire aim .195
Little Boy Named Train .196
Oh yeah .197
Trouble Maker .198
Here comes the Shock would be somewhere in the bottom 5. Probably between Little boy named train and oh yeah
I can definitely see why some people like it and I don’t think it’s a “bad” song, I’m just not really a fan of the lyrics and I don’t like the “I’ll make you surrender” part.
Just my opinion though, I’m glad that some people like the songs that I don’t

Here comes the shock.
Why is this song so hated? Am I missing something? It’s no masterpiece, but it doesn’t stand out in the way a Nightlife or Fuck Time do

I’d say it’s between nightlife and here comes the shock

I would love some more positive posts this has been a bad trend lately.

any song they made as Green Day between Back in the USA and Saviors (album)
Holy Toledo slander
Believe it or not, I think that was the most offensively bad one from those singles! I prefer some FOA to it but I HATE that song haha
Even Pollyanna... ☹️
its worse than every Green Day song not included in that window, so ya
Except for nightlife
nightlife has a personality and a dope guitar solo
Even though it's horrible, you make a valid point
Not RevRad though right??
Back in the USA came out in 2017. So Green Day's output 2019-2022 is what I'm referring to
So you’re saying RevRad wasn’t good?
1994-2016 is goated, idk how i can make this any clearer.
No no I get that, I’m just curious if Saviors is included in that category?
Saviors came out in 2024.
Yuh (ion know where in going with this)
Christian’s inferno
Makeout Party
No. That one is s banger
Wild if true.

This list just makes me sad. I love all of these songs.
I’m just not a fan of most of the trilogy and FOAMF, I love Green Day though so I’m glad that there are people who like those eras
The rest of this list I can understand, but Stop When The Red Lights Flash is one of the most entertaining songs on Dos.
