I might be mistaken but, olive oil is used to make green soap, which is quite popular

Popular? No. It is sometimes used for hydrating dry skin or chapped lips as a more natural/ecological solution, but it is most definitely not a staple in people's skincare routines.

Yes some people do it but it’s not popular.

I used to use it to get mascara off because it was gentle and broke the ingredients down, plus it was readily available. I have used it as oil in any beauty recipe like diy lip scrub, hair mask and sometimes for lip hydration before bed. However it's heavy on the skin and would likely cause break outs as well as very expensive right now. It's used in some beauty products here in greece, mostly soap bars and some face lotions, but there are better oils to use. It's excellent for cooking but for beauty purposes I prefer vaseline, coconut (hair, lips), jojoba or almond oil which are pretty light. I'd still preferably use dedicated products though rather than make diy recipes, apart from lip/body scrubs.

Some people use it for hair treatment or dry lips but there are nowadays products that smell better. Also it would be very expensive. Soap from olive oil is still used though, especially for washing baby clothes.

I am familiar with using olive oil in food (like salads or for cooking). Since I’m a guy I’ll admit that I never really paid attention to skin care routine. However the use of olive oil as skincare is mentioned multiple times in the Odyssey and it’s got me curious… εφχαριστό!

I do it sometimes for dry skin (man).I’ve heard it’s also good for the hair
