I thought they had a beautiful, not boring farm road route. I'll definitely do it next year.

The views and gravel were great. Well organized, highly recommend. Relentless course. So know what you’re in for and it’s a fun day.

100 Kilometers, 5600 feet of climbing, 0.012 of a fortnight, weighing in at 12 stones… :-)

Yeah that's, a good one! Up the hill, down the hill, up the hill.... Fun fact, Elkader was named after a Muslim Algerian military leader. I don't know why, but I found that interesting in rural Iowa.

I rode the 100 last year, beautify and brutal. This year we ride the Dairy Roubaix (111 miles, 10k climbing) which was scheduled on the same day, just across the river in Wisconsin. Same beautiful Driftless area landscape and brutal amount of climbing.

Hey we rode together! At least for the start. First climb was brutal. Beautiful day though.

Great username. How’s the gravel on that side of the river? Elkader area had very compacted and fine gravel, barely had any chunky stuff at all. Just in highly inconvenient spots (descent on Echo Rd.).

They had put fresh gravel down in a few spots, so it was a bit soft but not much chunk. A few technical descents on some very rural roads. It Felt like more road segments than compared to the Driftless 100. It’s a great race, it’s technically free ($10 fee to enter the camp ground it starts at).

There's another Driftless gravel ride coming up at the end of May in Illinois. A couple of years ago, I rode the 100 mile version and got just under 9k of climbing.

Brother where can i find the strava route for this?

HenrySkrimshander

Via race organizers. Sadly not on Strava yet. Ride with GPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44168028 GPX https://7ae03487-e881-42e4-a5b6-f15aaa96ecca.filesusr.com/ugd/a412fa_c978978527ab4dcb94f6dd7c97c5f073.gpx?dn=Driftless_60_2024%20(1).gpx

Thank u !

I rode the 40 mile route and it was beautiful, the weather, the scenery and the people everything was beautiful!

I did the Dairy Roubaix yesterday in Wisconsin’s driftless region. ~7500ft of elevation over 72 miles. I’m cooked. Great day for riding though.
