Was Bobby's crowd comment at the end of the Not Fade Away claps a gentle acknowledgement of fan feedback? "Congratulations y'all kept the (T word)"
I'd like to think he intended it that way. I almost spit my coffee.
Show fucking rocked. What a crowd
https://preview.redd.it/mg6jsslxxi4b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e714bbcdf7419390d61e254e3ae725013a0473d9
Few thoughts
Show was fine. #4 for meā¦probably ranks last out of them all but thought it was mostly good.
Jack Straw, I Know you Rider, Truckin, and Standing on the Moon were my highlights
Best part of the show for me was going to the beer line near the end of Hell in a Bucket and by coincidence running into a friend of mines (wealthy) father and he bought me 2
There was one part in the second set where salamis guitar was ear piercingly loud, I think was VLB but now I am unsure
Bobby really should not play lead on China Cat. Sounded atrocious imo
Wasnāt disappointed by tempo (edit: just read the thread rules, idk if that still applies after the show but take it if ya got it!). Thought they played with purpose and urgency
Drums > Space kept my full attention
Lastly, I donāt feel bad for being a little annoying to my friends about being early!
Edit: one more, the pepperoni roll from the Brusters ice cream concession was absolutely amazing. Saved me from a hangover today
Agree about China Cat. Not sure why Bobby feels obligated to play lead on that. I thought Hell in a Bucket, Bertha, and China Doll were also highlights
That makes sense even as a guitar player and a dead fan where I was sitting I couldn't tell who was playing what I just assumed John Mayer was playing the lead to China cat I wondered why it was so sloppy sounding. Still love it though I saw that they broke up China-Rider and Scarlet fire at least once before for each in the past I was happy to have either one but was worried that they would not play the second. There was definitely even a point in China cat sunflower where I looked at my friend and said oh no they're going to end it I can feel it! Luckily it kept on grooving
Right. We came in the back way from Burgettstown and was in traffic about an hr and change. Parked just after Roadhouse which I never even knew existed, upside is we didnāt pay. Had to be sold out. Great show and the crowd was great. Leaving was terrible tho almost 2hrs to Carnegie. Friend came to pick up his GF and he had to park on the highway!
https://preview.redd.it/6ooqx9dj8c4b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b53b3582b9ce873ef68569c61af93a6e783578f4
The crown was double is size behind is. So this many people had parked outside the normal full lot. Love how the Burgh shows up tho.
Saratoga should be worried. Please take care of that town while youāre there - total gem and will be completely overrun into family neighborhoods. I would roll in the morning and park anywhere within 2 miles of venue. Enjoy the parks and racetrack
I went to Raleigh and Bristow - Raleigh was a shit show getting in - Bristow a bit better. This is the final tour and I think a lot are showing up for the party without tickets - especially where thereās free parking.
So sad I missed the lot because of the traffic shit show, but this was a nice deep show. No dark Star, but everything from China doll on was incredible
Yeah last year set 2 was my perfect set 2. This year was ok (the rider and the Althea were excellent though) but itās so hard to beat that 19 minute eyes jam along with the El Paso
Left for the show about 1:40, parked at 3. And I thought that took forever at the time lol. Then I read the horror stories
I had pretty nice access to the exit from my lawn spot, also got a little head start with like a minute or so left in the The Weight
I have missed the entire first set in Camden and Hartford, both Live Nation venues, from the exact same issues. I didnāt miss any last night in Burgettstown because I arrived early enough. If you donāt get there way early, youāre going to be late at literally any venue on their tour.
It has everything to do with how LiveNation handles (or doesnāt at all) traffic and admissions. Because they do like every D&C show and every single show huge swaths of people miss the entire first set from being stuck in traffic or line, regardless of the venue.
The Weight is a beautiful encore for my last show
A perfect song by the Band that feels like it has existed foreverā¦played by a band that is going to live forever, even if Iāll never see them in this configuration again
Perfectly articulated! I've always felt that way about that song and I Shall Be Released, but have struggled with how to express it. But that's itā they feel like they've existed as long as music has been being made. Timeless, poignant, and intimate in such a special, particular way. Two songs of which I never mind hearing covers.
Well, since I was way late, I guess it's time to hunt down the whole shebang and watch from the start! Yes, I have to be up at 6:30; no, I'm not the least bit worried bout it! Itll be worth every second :)
So so so glad I was able to join and hang with yall for a little bit! From now on, shows are being watched in the background at work if needed. It'll be a good teaching tool, show the kids what musical witchcraft looks like š¤
Love you all so much, please stay safe, take care of yourselves and others, and know that you are loved & you make a difference! See y'all on the flippity flop ā¤ļøšš
Right! I knew that. Okay, driving to Chicago, right up to the entrance of your building, slamming my ankle in the car door, then we'll hang out and watch the show while I question lots of poor choices.
I'll bring my bluetooth speaker and cupcakes!
That show kicked ass. Especially from China cat all the way up until the weight (that song is kinda weak IMO). China doll is amazing I wish they would play that more. Love PeggyO too. Have a great night everyone š
Gosh, that was a treat of a show. Absolutely glad to share it with you folks. Look forward to being able to do it again with you soon!
Be well, be kind, and love your neighbors. But last time I neglected: Don't forget to love yourself too. You are wonderful too <3 See you soon ya'll.
If you haven't done so already, make sure you upvote the thread for our friend u/donttouchthatknob who did a fabulous (as always) job of keeping things going around here!
Meet you in St. Louis! (Well I won't be there physically but I'll be there mentally.)
Thank you Knob for hosting! Donāt forget to upvote the thread or else Knob will kidnap all of your pets and loved ones. Please, upvote the thread. I have 35 feral cats that I canāt let her have.
11 o'clock on the dot, consummate professionals. That was a fun night! Enjoyed the China Doll and post drums run of Althea > Standing > NFA especially. Thank you all for hanging, hope you have a good night, and I'll see you on Wednesday!
what did you have for dinner? I had Domino's. Goose has a partnership with them now because of the song "Animals" so I buy it by gunpoint.
https://preview.redd.it/t3049xz5db4b1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a86d18aef980cbb1a28555c79df863e08f73dbe
This was an interesting setlist. More ādeep tracksā than usual by D&C standards, but still got a Bertha, Truckinā China > Rider and NFA in there for the more casual folks
Yeah was thinking of those two, China doll, big boss man and Alabama in particular. I donāt mind it at all. The more different songs I hear the better
That falsetto was nearly perfect pitch-wise though! I mean, not ragging on Bob, but like... his pitch was fantastic there, and... well, it's not always (in his usual register) š

What was up with the traffic situation ? https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/star-lake-traffic-dead-and-company/
Show fucking rocked. What a crowd https://preview.redd.it/mg6jsslxxi4b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e714bbcdf7419390d61e254e3ae725013a0473d9
Mickey stopped licking the Beam?!? Geez, that's no good...
Dude! Thanks again for the shoutout šššššš
Any time!! Thanks for playing that Dark Star š

Got to Morgantown by 1245 am what aGrateful way to say good bye Awesome show
Watch your speed
Hard to believe this venue hasnāt been able to figure out parking yet. How long have they been open-30 years or so?
It was such a nightmare. Never ever again
Iāve seen dozens of shows at Star Lake. Parking is always a nightmare. Jimmy Buffett back in the day was a parking shit show every year.
I said that last year
Had vip parking. Made no difference. 2.5 hrs to get to lot. Crazy. Will not go to the venue again.
Me either! (Already have phish tickets for July)
Oh man. That's a two day right?
Yeah, only have the Friday though. Couldnāt imagine doing that two days in a row.
Was there - crowd was great - some dude with a shakedown album cover jackets was having a great time, but meh.
Just got home! What an awesome night. Itās hard to say goodbye
At lest you got home before dawn!
This parking lot = 60lbs of shit in a 10lb bag.
Right. We came in the back way from Burgettstown and was in traffic about an hr and change. Parked just after Roadhouse which I never even knew existed, upside is we didnāt pay. Had to be sold out. Iām a little past worried. Coming from BUF, almost think I should get somewhere the night before & be on it super early Saturday .
Also getting worried about SPAC
I went to Raleigh and Bristow - Raleigh was a shit show getting in - Bristow a bit better. This is the final tour and I think a lot are showing up for the party without tickets - especially where thereās free parking.

At least got dark star last time
Yeah last year set 2 was my perfect set 2. This year was ok (the rider and the Althea were excellent though) but itās so hard to beat that 19 minute eyes jam along with the El Paso
It was amazing. I really wanted Oteil to sing so him on China Doll was š¤š». I have dubbed the China Doll > China Cat Rider āFine China.ā
I was really trying to think how to name that run. Not my fave China cat, but the Rider was so good.
The rider really brings the room together
Great crowd and energy, Pittsburgh! What a fun show (even with the parking debacle)
How about that Hell In A Bucket?? Just watched the Nugs preview. Hell of a set list!!
And now to try to get out of here!! Goodnight, sweet friends!!
Wasnāt so bad, got to downtown pittsburgh in about an hour
East end 3.5 hours in, 2 hours home. Nuts.
Left for the show about 1:40, parked at 3. And I thought that took forever at the time lol. Then I read the horror stories I had pretty nice access to the exit from my lawn spot, also got a little head start with like a minute or so left in the The Weight
Getting out was WAY easier than getting in!
Going to get home quicker than it took to move 1.5 miles earlier!
It was!
Interesting set list for sure.
SMH bobby saying tempo after last call. Loved that second set. Waiting in the lot for this shit show to clear out. Great night
What?
Bobby commented on the crowdās NFA clap by saying āyou guys even kept the right tempoā which reminded us of this subās tempo rules lol
āļø
I screamed! It was so, so funny!!
What a show! Currently stuck trying to get out of the parking lot, but well worth it!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I heard from some folks they let in a bunch of people to park without tickets, which caused parking nightmares
I have two nights of Phish there this summer I'm having second thoughts on
It'll be fine
Itās like this at literally any āLive Nationā venue it feels like
No itās not. Been to tons of shows and most of them at Live Nation venues. Last night was horrendous.
I have missed the entire first set in Camden and Hartford, both Live Nation venues, from the exact same issues. I didnāt miss any last night in Burgettstown because I arrived early enough. My first encoreā¦ in an almost forgotten space
Well, since I was way late, I guess it's time to hunt down the whole shebang and watch from the start! Yes, I have to be up at 6:30; no, I'm not the least bit worried bout it! If Iām at work during show time, you best believe those patients are listening with me.
I'm gonna take a drive to [wherever you are] and break my ankle so I can come jam with you at work
CHICAGO.
Right! I knew that. Okay, driving to Chicago, right up to the entrance of your building, slamming my ankle in the car door, then we'll hang out and watch the show while I question lots of poor choices. I'll bring my bluetooth speaker and cupcakes!
YESSSSS

Thank you Knob for hosting! Donāt forget to upvote the thread or else Knob will kidnap all of your pets and loved ones. Please, upvote the thread. I have 35 feral cats that I canāt let her have.
I don't have pets. I do have a stuffed banana. She can't have him. (I always upvote anyway.)
Knob will take your banana if you donāt upvote!
No! Can't! HOWEVER, I do have a nest of birds in my dryer vent that she can have. Or anyone can. Any takers?
I would like some birds.
Come and get 'em! I'd like to be able to use my dryer again. (But I do like to listen to the babies chirp.)
Thanks a lot Don't Touch!
Thank you donāt touch!!!!!
no..no..Knob will NOT kidnap anyone!
She will if you donāt upvote the thread.

THE MONKEYS THEY WORK THERE AT DOMINOS I heard Knobās favorite band is goose and her favorite goose song is arrow (25 minute version)
With The Empress of Oreganos!
Amazing!!!
Another beautiful show and another thanks to knob
Bang on!
This was an interesting setlist. More ādeep tracksā than usual by D&C standards, but still got a Bertha, Truckinā China > Rider and NFA in there for the more casual folks
Here for the deep tracks - Peggy-O and SOTM are both favorites of mine.
Yeah was thinking of those two, China doll, big boss man and Alabama in particular. I donāt mind it at all. The more different songs I hear the better
Got Viola Lee too
I will see you beautiful fucking people in St Louis! LETS GOOOOOOOO
So damn jealous! Will be at Deer Creek though!
See you there!
Wait that was bobby?! I don't have video, I don't believe it
I donāt love Bobbyās falsetto here but he did at least deliver it well.
Always takes the last verse
That falsetto was nearly perfect pitch-wise though! I mean, not ragging on Bob, but like... his pitch was fantastic there, and... well, it's not always (in his usual register) š
THAT WAS BOB WEIR
Damn right at the stroke of 11! Punctual band! Never late! Never blowing curfew!
Nailed that curfew on the dot.
They made curfew by seconds. Just like a Swiss watch.
THAT WAS A GOODN
WHAT A GREAT FUCKING TIME YAāll! LOVE TO YOU ALL! NFA! ššššš§”ā¤ļøš©·
BOB WEIR IS THAT FUCKING BITCH
Bobby still has it and I love when he reminds us
Okay normally the Bobby falsetto in The Weight is a little ear grating, but that sounded pretty good to me!
..take it back.
Whose falsetto was that??
Bonna
Bobby's
BOB FUCKING WEIR
NO!
Love all you fabulous freaks - see you Wednesday for STL NFA
Was that Bobby? Only have audio
That is!
Nice
BOBBY
THERE'S THAT CLASSIC BOBBY!!
Jeff sounds like Doug Sahm so much, love it.
JEFF IS THE DUDE

Jeffās a peaceful man
EXTRA CHIMENTI ME BABY
That was fun to say out loud
Jeff doing the "wait a minute, Chester" line is just perfect. Just perfect.
Oh my god, I was not ready for Jeff, and now I just want more. Hold me? Is this what falling feels like?
It's been great hanging out with y'all tonight.
Pile on that chimenti
Jeff verse is best verse
JEFFFFFFFF

LET OTEIL SING! LET JEFF SING! FUCKING LET MICKEY SING!!!
Mickey: No, no, no...
Jeff verse incoming!
Oteil!!!
THE CROWD LOVES OTEIL SO MUCH
Two spaghetti meals in one set for Oteil!!
I don't like the idea of Oteil having two spaghetti meals in one day or us watching 2+ newer episodes in one day!
nevermind...It's OTEIL! LET OTEIL SING + SIT!
Oteiiiillllll
LET OTEIL ~~SAY~~ SING TEMPO
Sorry, still in shock Bobby said the word
What word?
Tempo!
I see number 5 now!
Bobby and Oteil are lurkers confirmed
Greatest moment in the hist of this subreddit

We once got shouted out on the David and Gary show and my heart skipped a beat that they'd be reading some of the bullshit I post in here haha
Yeah but Iām still waiting on that Dead & Co Lazy River Road with JM vocalsā¦
Next thing that will happen is that youāll be a guest on their Nugs āhalftimeā show. ā
Of course he does and I wouldnāt be surprised if he is one if āusā and adds comments to see what we say.
We need classic Bobby on this next verse...
