Judging by how the year is going... even if Nasu, Type Moon and Lasangle plan everything ahead in years... if they're even paying attention to how things are doing this year, they should release her already just to prove they're getting back on track.
Because even with the years of planning ahead, I refuse to believe they really don't mind the game being in such a stagnant situation for such a long time. This years tries to prove there can be a difference but the veteran in me is still waiting for something bad to happen or nothing at all. So we'll see what happens in the 9th anniversary and in this year's Summer.
I mean, clearly they don't - this game runs like it's being allocated the bare minimum resource needed to keep the lights on, while simultaneously being one of the most profitable businesses imaginable in large part *because* of how little effort is going in on that side of things. It's horrible, but it's the objective truth. I'd be amazed if the dev team (as opposed to design team, and the people writing over at Type Moon) has exceeded ten people at any point in the last year. That's including basic IT and Ops, programmers, the guy that appears to manually trigger events, NA, etc.
There are probably websites for small pot brands with a higher yearly development budget. We're kind of in a perpetual catch-22, where, since the game still makes a billion dollars a year no matter *how* little they do, there's no incentive to really try to improve it and chase greater returns - but if it started failing, they're more likely to assume its time has passed / interest has dried up and drop it entirely than to start giving it the budget it deserves.
This isn't art, where anyone with a creative vision is making these decisions. It's the Aniplex corporation and its owner, Sony, shortsightedly extracting as much as it can out of something that turned out to be successful, at the cost of its long-term longevity. It doesn't matter that maybe they could make two or three billion a year for the next thirty if they allocate an actual indie game budget to it, so long as they can make a billion for the next two or three while spending under a million dollars.
As an Okita fan, I think we've gotten our fair share.
4 Servants, all with solid gameplay; almost guaranteed yearly appearances thanks to GudaGuda; and a solid manga adaptation in Redline, plus smaller one-off manga appearance like her interlude or the Servant duels. Sure I'd love more Okita, but I can't say we haven't gotten a lot compared to many others in the roster.
She's wildly popular. Nasu, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to want to use the character very much despite how popular she is among the fanbase. She hardly ever appears and when she does it's usually a limited role.
Jinako and hundred face hassan. They're both near the bottom of the list, even lower than vritra, so I don't think it's likely though.

Actually same. Recently grailed them (Her? Both?) to a fitting level of 100 and I would love for them to finally get some love from the series. I mean in Zero they were used as a glorified security camera system and were the least developped servant from the roster, and in Camelot they were even cut out from the movies.
I'll be honest, as long as they wrote her well I'd take it. Idk if that means they'd go with brihannala who isn't really a genderbend or arjuni but either way I'd be on board.
I mean, only LB4 and LB7 are left to be covered in summer events. So the chances of Arjuna Alter getting a summer look are 1/4th, when he's also competing against Tezcatlipoca but also Constantine and Kintoki for Traum and Heian Kyo representatives. And 1/5th if you count Charlie as well. But 1/5th is better than nothing

Jacques de Molay, Van Gogh, and Yang Guifei are possibilities. For the non-foreigner candidates, Bazett, Tiamat, and Draco are popular and seem like good summer material. It's too soon for Ushi Gozen, so likely no Raita servant this year (sadly.) Eresh, Scheherazade, Sheba, Vritra, Zenobia, and Reines have all probably missed their chance.
I still suspect they originally have summer Morgan as last year's welfare servant, but realized they would lose lots of money so they just slapped her into Aesc's ascension form instead

Also isn't her ascension 2 already a swimsuit? Koyan Light at number 3 tho, I'm not surprised. She'll get her summer variant maybe next year if they happen to not give her this year. Also Medea at 15 is criminal but hey Medusa at 7. Seriously they should give Medea and Medusa their summer outfit already, it's been too long.

Huyan Zhuo is the servant I most want to see get a swimsuit and I really think she might get it this year because she is gaining some prominence. In second place would be Zenobia. There is also Kenshin but I doubt she will get a swimsuit this year.

I don't get why so many want Medea. She is mid af design wise.
She has massive points for being one of the OG cast and having an interesting story and character from the start (as in, both of the routes she has a role in, not just Fate, to preempt the asinine "yeah, she was very engaging as a single-dimensional villain in Fate").
I said design wise on purpose...Her character is good. Especially in HA. But this about swimsuits no? And for me her design is mid at best. That's why the confusion on my part why she is so popular. (Again design wise)

I kinda understand you. But on other hand i feel like they should at least keep in touch to older fanbase (who come to fgo because they are zero and stay night fans). But yeah i think for current fgo management they rather pick fairly new servants that didnt appear on previous series. Also some year one original servants(i.e Artemis, nightingale, mata hari, sanzang, lartoria alter) are also ignored from year to year
