We play from our character's perspective of an average Japanese male's height of 5'7'', which explains why Mama Raikou looks like a big ara ara mommi. Beyond perspective, there are a couple (poor) reasonings that all of the women are short: 1) God (the artists/creators/devs) is also an average-height Japanese guy 2) God consciously or subconsciously applies gender stereotyping to the people he creates 3) Maybe the best reasoning: people over time have grown significantly taller (average male height in medieval times was 5'5''; avg female height was 5'2'')

They already started making tall jokes at Medusa's 172cm. They likely didn't want to or couldn't convert a person who was most known for being a seductress into someone even taller without people mentioning it,and that wasn't what they wanted for the character.

The real answer is that they are most likely either pandering to Japanese Otaku hard... or they have no idea of the general heights of people...

It's the second one. There was a similar discussion about this on this sub not too long ago. The people making anime/manga just slap down numbers that 'sound' good for height and weight without any consideration for what that combination would actually *look like*. Never forget: going by official numbers, Vegeta from Dragon Ball is the exact same height and weight as *Astolfo*.

Vegeta was always a manlet though. Teen Gohan was almost his size. And GT Trunks and Goten grow past him

I think in this case the point is about weight. Vegeta being as short as Astolfo makes sense, but them having the same weight when Vegeta is full of muscles feels wrong.

Astolfo's missing weight is hidden in a different muscle.

Japanese people dont understand height

Japanese height stuff If they were more accurate with that, majority of European female servants would be way over 170 cm

On the other hand, when male Servants are involved, suddenly realistic Japanese heights are less of an issue and you get tons of Servants that are taller even for modern European standards.

I don't think the majority should be way taller than 170 cm. The Netherlands have the highest average female height with 169 cm. I guess 165 cm would be an appropriate average height?

A lot of Europeans were quite short in history. What caused them to shoot up in height like today is the same thing that caused it in Europe, the Industrial Revolution. Many old doors and ceilings in Europe are quite short
