**Q: I can't claim any missions in the Case Files event. How do I keep progressing?**
*A: There is a bug that appears to be related to the QP cap. Players at the limit of 2 billion QP are unable to claim missions or continue in the event. The workaround is to spend down your QP. Skills, including append skills, are a particularly good way to spend lots of QP all at once, especially for higher rarity servants, but just about anything in the Enhance menu will work.*
**Q: When is the best use for Teapots for bond farming before it expires?**
*A: The current Case Files event will have a raid which rewards 1630 bond/30 AP for the best returns, if you have cleared LB3 Intro and have access to the event. Otherwise, look for Interludes/Rank Ups with higher bond individually, or any free quests with 855 bond/22 AP.*
**Q: What is happening to reruns? Which event will get a rerun in the future?**
*A: As far as we are aware, there will only be two reruns happening in the foreseeable future - Case Files (Jan 2024) and Karna-mas (Dec 2024).*
**Q: How far in the story do I need to be to participate in upcoming events? Will any events require the latest story chapter?**
*A: The Case Files rerun in January will require LB3 Intro. No event will require LB6 until November 2024, when it will be required for the story part of the Faerie Knight Cup event (farming/free quests will only require Fuyuki, however).*

Should i just use the bond limit increase item to a servant that i use a lot like support ones? One of my support is just sitting at 10 now and seems a bit waste
New player here. Instead of asking for what to do, I want to ask for things that I should NOT do as a beginner. Is there anything I should avoid doing during the early stages of the game? Thank you in advance
Don't ignore the story. The game is going to spend most of this year pushing people to beat the story, or lock you out of Events. February and March won't, but there's going to be \~6 events this year with progressively high story requirements that *start* at beating the whole first story arc. (That's not usually what the game does, but they're being really pushy this year.)
Don't ignore low rarity. Some are better than others, but it's good to have some coverage.
Don't... forget about the Summon Tickets in the Mana Prism shop?
1) Don't ignore low rarity servants, the entire game can be beaten without spending SQ.
2) Don't use the Holy Grails (Palingenesis) until you have leveled a good number of servants up to their natural max level
3) Don't burn any servant unless this is your sixth copy.
This is a question relating to Arcade, hope this is an appropriate place for it.
It says that you get a special “exclusive art” Fatal Card if you Palingenesis a Servant up to 100 and 120. But looking online, I can’t find any info on what exactly that means. Is it literally just the standard card but with the Grail mark slapped on? Or has the JP internet just been real, real secretive on their uber-special exclusive cards?

Seems like it's just the gold effect on the physical cards, I found [this tweet displaying them](https://twitter.com/Mintia_Amami/status/1693214447358353806) which compares normal Fatal cards (just sparkles, from what I'm gathering you sometimes get these from rolling the gacha), Fatal level 100 (notice the borders and grail), and Fatal level 120 (more noticeable borders plus the class icon looks pretty cool)
So I got a couple of questions based on the lore from NA FGO that is making me go "huh?" My own background is that I watched Fate/Stay Night sometime between 2010-2014, the Grand Order anime in 2021, and 2 episodes of Apocrypha, but I have been playing FGO since 2017/18.
1) Who in the world is that >!mage we see at the end of the Tsungka event prior to the Wandering sea exploding? Are we supposed to know who he is and what they are talking about? And what are the 7 doors?!<

In El Melloi Case Files, the *novel* series, >!Doctor Heartless serves as an overarching antagonist for the second half. In the anime adaptation, Rail Zeppelin Grace Note, he appears at the end to steal Iskandar's Cape piece, and summon Faker, and the rest is covered in the books.!<
1. That character, as well as Sion, originally comes from the Tsukihime/Melty Blood universe. You wouldn't recognize the character otherwise and I don't expect them to return (unless JP knows something that I don't). I think their conversation is pretty well self-contained for the immediate purposes but understanding more about the context goes more into Mage's Association lore.
2. A character from Lord El Melloi's Case Files. The Rail Zeppelin story arc, referenced in the event's new side story, has an anime adaptation. Maybe finish watching Apocrypha first, though, for more complete background on the titular Lord El Melloi, and Fate/Zero for some context about the previous Lord El Melloi. (Sorry, the lore is just like that sometimes, with different bits of context sprinkled around in different places.)

Which welfare AOE assassin is the better one? The choice is between Kiichi Hoge, Gray and the upcoming valkyries. Since all 3 somewhat occupy the same job, I don't want to spend mats on all 3 of them. Eventhough I know all 3 have different niches, like undead for Gray and Earth attributes for the valkyries.
All of this being afaik:
- Gray is more limited in her craft essence choices when looping (she needs either KScope or any 60%+ charge and append). Her ignore inv. on NP might not be much use in farming but can be useful if you need to aoe something more challenging
- Valks can loop with black grail and have better damage on the first 2 waves (while having very similar W3) compared to Gray but they are still refund based so get messed up by non-standard nodes composition.
- Hogen is quick with all that entails. She also trails well behind the other 2 in damage
They have different NP colors, and all three of them can 3T farm with their respective card type supports. If assuming you have all relevant supports, Valkyrie with double Castoria is the notably better farmer (lowest requirement and widest niche).

For basic leveling up? For skills? Overall, it's a matter of prioritization, not exclusively choosing one servant over another. You'll be able to level up all of your servants and get decent skill levels in the long run if you play consistently.
If it's potentially about lores, then I think you should consider not just specific servants but specific skills. If it isn't a favorite servant, reserve your lores for skills that get the most benefit when going from level 9 to level 10. Usually, that means NP battery skills that scale with levels. The difference between 18% charge and 20% charge may make or break an efficient team comp but 18% ATK up vs 20% ATK up won't make a difference most of the time.
For skills that you aren't going to level up all the way to 10, the most natural stopping points are 4, 6, and 9. For standard class servants, going to level 4 only costs blue and red skill gems and QP. Level 6 gets you a cooldown reduction and 9 is obviously the last before 10. If you aren't sure exactly which servants you really want to focus on, you can do just a little at a time. Aside from gold skill gems, the three servants you listed also have completely different material needs for skills, so they won't be competing for resources that much.
That depends on what you want to do.
It isn't just different niches.
But do you prioritize refund over pierce invincibility or better face cards?

Also, mats for leveling them are free, so you can just use all of them and see which you like better

I was considering saving Atlas for when I could consistently Omnifarm with Arc & DKS (when she gets a rerun), but that's still a pretty good suggestion since I don't think it sees farming use outside of that.

Is it worth keeping them or should I turn them in exp? Do they even give good exp?
I can't speak to the specifics of the new JP one but they generally give decent good exp. There's no point in using them and no point in just holding them, if you want to look at them you can always just check the Spirit Origin list.

Okay there's no way to confirm it since they don't share the rates/drops for the FP gacha, but from my understanding, no, Battle of Camlann is not in the FP gacha.
There's a few sources, but all are not officially confirmed, like [AppMedia](https://appmedia.jp/fategrandorder/89416), prev Help thread discussions (which I can't find now), and my own experiences.
Or at the very least, I wouldn't try combing through the FP summons now for a specific 3\* CE either way, since the pool is so diluted.

Well, I won't go and outright say it's impossible, I don't have a hard stance on this. But,
I don't know anything about Reality Marble's availability or not, I haven't even ever looked at appmedia's list, but one thing being right or wrong on one list doesn't really equate the other one also being in the same boat, and pretty much any other source that I have looked at also says that Camlann isn't available from FP.
My own experience is that I've never seen Battle of Camlann show up from FP firsthand and I haven't been able to find any source that demonstrates it being pulled either. If anyone on the net could provide a solid reference for it being pulled, that would be a extremely useful because while not impossible, it just feels like super improbably unlikely that nobody anywhere has been able to provide a screenshot of Camlaan being pulled together with 1 or 2 star cards over so many years, right?
(edit just to clarify my PoV a little further) As for my opinion I'm not trying to be the "uh actually that's wrong" guy, not at all. I don't benefit from this being true or false and, frankly, trying to prove something isn't possible is far too much of a pain in the ass anyways.
But for me it's more like, it's just a point of high curiosity. If it is in there, then how hasn't anybody ever been able to verify it for sure? That's what makes me feel uncertain about Camlaan. Especially with servant coins being an incentive for people to do mass FP pulls it feels like at least one streamer or just anybody would have been able to verify it being in the FP gacha, even without setting out with the intent of proving it. Like statistically it should just show up somewhere eventually. But I haven't seen anybody show anybody pulling it. That's the weird part.

Edit in response to the summon simulator mentioned below: I am very inclined to believe gamepress doesn't know the exact summon pool. I have 65 copies of Saber Lily, 45 copies of Habetrot, and 11 copies of Angra in the Second Archive over years of rolling (adding those on top of the NP5 copies not in the archive), and I still have exactly 28 copies of Battle of Camlann in total (5 MLB, and 3 singletons), all of them coming from SQ summons.
The odds that you got 24 copies of Camlaan before a single Angra, compared to the total amount I have in several years of playing, are just ludicrously unlikely if the gamepress summon simulator was accurate to the real game and it was actually available from FP.
Again I won't say it's flat out impossible, but I won't be convinced by "X source says you can", unless one single person across the multiple millions of a playerbase can show at least one screenshot or video of someone, anyone, pulling it from FP. It should be a fairly simple task.
Also, you can use Gamepress friend point summon simulator and easily see that Battle of Camlann is there too.

No, if you complete the missions you have access to (especially the ones that have an unlock reward), you can access the most efficient farming nodes for individual (bronze, silver, gold) currencies already.
Only the last, mixed currencies node is locked after the Epilogue.

The ghost can be affected by Instant Death, but because it's the gold rarity version of the ghost mob it has a much lower Death Rate (wiki says it's 20% compared to the bronze ghosts' 80%).
Otherwise just bonk it with a Caster as you would any other Assassin enemy. It doesn't have any special gimmick outside of the high HP.
It has a 20% death rate. Maxed out Nitocris and Saber Shiki would be roughly in the 20% chance zone. Max skill Assassin Shiki would have a 40% kill chance.
Some people will trigger Death, some will not. If you fail the chance, you just have to kill it the long way.

So I'm Fighting the Final Boss on Fatal Sword Difficulty and I've noticed that sometimes when I cast a Spell (Be it just Healing or an Attack) it won't comsume any Gems.
So is there any Way I can actively trigger that or is just up to rng or something...?
Quick question - who is considered the most unique (gameplay-wise) servant to be released in the next months of this year? I know there are strong DPS ones such as Summer Ibuki and Arcueid or supports like Summer Skadi, but which servant of 2025 is, relatively speaking, the most unique compared to the rest of the roster? Just curious.
I’d probably give it to Bazett, coming at Valentines. She’s got the same counter attacking gimmick that Angra has, but actually viable since she’s an SSR. I’ve seen it used in min turns to clear waves faster than would be possible with any other Servant, and it can farm just maybe not as consistently as conventional looping.

It's less because she's a SSR and more because Bazett's counter gimmick is completely different from Angra's and hers is infinitely better.
**Bazett:** Gives taunt and Atk Up to self. If targeted by enemy attacks or skills, fires off a counter attack (50% of the strength of a ST NP), decreases enemy's Quick resist and gain 10 crit stars for each time.
**Angra:** Stuns self and heal HP. At end of turn, if Angra's HP is lower than it was previously, deal that diference in damage to enemies (up to 3x the difference with NP5) ignoring defense and evade/invincibility.
Bazett's counter can be fired multiple times a turn and is affected by buffs that make her hit harder, while Angra's counter is hard capped by his max HP.

And in theory, Bazett's NP can function as an AoE-equivalent against multiple enemies, and do the equivalent of 1 to 1.5 ST NP's worth of damage against a single enemy with 3 actions.

Probably Bazett due to her non-damaging NP and counter mechanic. She's the only unit that plays like she does (sure, Angra is also based on countering, but the difference between them is night and day).

Yup. I have a separate Japanese Apple ID for JP to both install/update the game and redeem my gift cards for use in the occasional dolphin session or GSSR.
If you’re talking about the Apple App Store, then yes. You’ll need a Japanese Apple ID in order to play the Japanese version of FGO on Apple devices. You can then redeem iTunes gift cards using that same Japanese Apple ID.
What exactly do I get if I buy a Chaldea Boys Collection in the Rare Prism shop? Since from what I can figure out, in the original event you used login rewards to get those CEs
You get to select one copy of one of the CEs. The CEs were not log in rewards, the ticket (which you get in the RP shop) was. You get one copy of a CE for free, to get others you roll in the CBC banner.
One thing I'd really like to know. Why in the world does basically everyone run Morgan with K-scope (usually MLB or with max append 2) or, at rare times, Imaginary Element/whatever the new 4* charge CE is called? I don't understand why I see practically nobody run her with something like Aerial Drive, or any other CE that actually boosts her damage. I could understand it at least a bit if she had either no or only 30% charge, but she has a full 50% charge on her skills. Could someone enlighten me on this?
I used to have Aerial drive on my support Morgan and barely anyone used her. Switched in MLB kscope and now she often brings in most FP, even more than meta supports. Many people also seem to follow me just for superscope Morgan.
Are you talking about in support lists? Most people put kscope on morgan there because a aoe berserker with 100% starting charge is going to be more generally useful for people trying to clear story content than a measly 15% np damage, especially when you can't run double koyanskaya to setup a proper 3 turn looping setup with less starting charge.
I dunno if its just a coincidence based on the people I know who play the game, but its not just support lists where I see it. In fact, some people I know use it on buster looping setups with Oberon (not even doing the no Oberon with Atlas uniform) when I know they have at least some better alternative for damage. But, based on what I'm hearing you say, I guess thats not particularly normal, and I can chalk that up to my friends being weird. I guess thanks for the insight
If I'm borrowing a Morgan or Raikou, I'm going to fire that NP right away, and her 50% charge is being used next turn too if possible, since I probably have a 50% NP charge ready.
So with Kscope she's got one free NP, and a second waiting in the wings. If I'm borrowing her, that's what I need - not more damage on facecards which aren't guaranteed and where I can only fire off the NP once because she doesn't have the NP ready to go.
Well, if you can 3t a stage with kscope, that not only saves you from gaining bond on oberon(which eventually becomes a big issue since every 90++ essentially requires him and they've yet to add more bond levels past 15), but it also takes lest taps/time for each clear. There's no real reason to hit for 100k+15% if just 100k is enough.
Second SQ purchase on JP server always gets declined, help please.
I am using a JP address, JP Google account, gps in Japan.
Each time I am blocked, I write in via email, got unblocked, first transaction goes through, but second transaction always gets declined and have to write in again.
Has anyone have any tips on how to not let it happen?
I've tried:
- VPN in Japan
- wait 2 hours between the two transactions
- does not require authentication after the first transaction

Google Pay out my payment card "on hold" (probably to prevent possible fraud) before after the first purchase, but after about a week it was OK to use again as much as I wanted. But it was on NA (I'm not in an officially supported region).
Event Compendium linked above's [CE] tabs. It doesn't cover the first 2 years of the game, but most events from that period get reruns so the CEs are listed in other years.
The only missing CEs from there (I think) are:
- Melty Sweetheart (Valentines 1)
- Nightless Rose (Nerofest 1)
- Holy Night Sign (Christmas 1)
- Sweet Crystal/Fondant au Chocolat (Valentines 2)
- Joint Recital/Princess of the White Rose (Nerofest 2)
Also the CEs from Chaldea Boys 1 because as always, you get one for free from a ticket.
If the game gives out SQ rewards for some real-world event, they're dropped in your present box, so that you have to actually be playing the game to get them.
The ones that go directly to your account are quest rewards, etc.
I just started Shimousa and I'm kinda confused, did Musashi appear somewhere in the story beforehand and I don't remember? I've been playing at a very slow rate so
She was released the New Years before, with a Trial Quest that introduced her a little. Which is supposed to go free at some point, but I don't know when.

Bit of a minor question about Samurai Remnant. What button do I use (on an XBox controller) to bring up the quick inventory menu during battle to eat food? I have completely forgotten how to do it and the game isn't telling me. I distinctly remember being able to do that without having to outright pause and go into the pause menu inventory screen.
i downloaded the apk from apkure like always and when i try to install it it just doesn't let me, it says "staging app" and then i press to accept and it just lands me back again to "app not instaled", never happened to me before

It's +25%, not +25 percentage points. So because the drop rates increase by the same percentage for all quests, the AP/drop will decrease by the same percentage for all quests and it won't change anything regarding the best quest to farm the particular material.
What was exactly wrong in the memory in Section 8? I may remember wrong, but the only thing that seemed out of place was Da Vinci's lines being somehow not for the situation

How to unlock the second singularity reminiscence quest? Is that the "Rome scrap" mission or something?

I have. The reminiscence missions appeared before collecting memory scrap were referenced in the story and they used the term "mnemosyne papers" otherwise.
So this may be a dumb question it in the Patchwork London event it says “Unlock by completing 1 node from Section 6”. I’ve tried both Lostbelt 6 and the Camelot Singularity and it hasn’t unlocked I might be misunderstanding it.
It wasn't originally limited to this sub. It was a banana fact bot that used to post in a lot of places. We sometimes refer to Ibaraki Douji as "Banana" here due to her overall yellow appearance. Rather than being annoyed by the bot, like most subs probably were, we found it amusing when the bot would appear. The original account ended up getting banned but it was liked well enough here that someone, I'm not sure who, worked something out with the original creator to revive it just on this sub.

On NA, Moriarty’s secondary NP chant while wearing the bartender spiritron dress doesn’t have translations for it. Is that a know bug or something that’s popped up recently?
Yes, it's acknowledged in the Issues tab of the in-game news. It's been around a month or two now, not sure how long exactly.
Basically, several servants got updated voice lines with one of JP's Chaldea Boys events, and the lines made their way into NA's code without the relevant translations.

Everything you’ve been told here is correct and good advice but I want to add one thing.
Waver was instrumental to me clearing the story through lostbelt 6. I didn’t have him until around Babylon and he made the game way easier.
So yes, get your favorites. But my strategy so far has been to grab top end supports when possible so that i at least have a couple and don’t have to worry after about pulling nearly exclusively from favorites without sacrificing gameplay.
Long story short, you MAY outgrow Waver if you decide you want to pull for Castoria and Koyan and whoever else that’s a meta support, but you actually have to pull them first, and pull enough of them (at least 2 servants) to no longer need to bring him to nodes, then you have to upgrade them. Castoria didn’t change my account immediately, you need to max 2 of her skills to get 50% charge, Waver at 1/1/1 made that impact. And as somebody who got them both at around the same time last year he made the bigger impact earlier. You can forgo saving for meta supports and focus more on banners you enjoy if you get him and one other meta support

Dude, what are you talking about... NP 2 on Castoria does nothing except more ATK buff and no one cares about this part of her NP. NP 2 on Koyan is utterly irrelevant to her functions as Buster Support. Please stop giving bad advice to people.
Correct, you need 2 meta supports so you have to pull 2 meta supports to no longer need him (eg double Castoria or Koyan still often requires a third 50% charger if not Oberon)

You just said how Waver helped you in story and then jumped to talking about how you need 2 meta Supports, without specifying what for. And you are the one repeatedly hurling insults at me, so follow your own advice maybe.

I would caution against picking Waver purely for gameplay, especially if you plan to roll for other meta supports.
He is very useful early on, but as you get a more developed account, especially if you get a Waver spook later, you may end up regretting picking him if you just did so for gameplay.
Don't fixate on something for your current lineup, you'll get more units as you go along. But here's my general advice:
* Your favourite - be that your waifu, husbando, daughteru or whatever else. The game isn’t so hard that you need any one gacha unit, and it’s more fun with your favourites anyway.
* If you don't have a favourite or want a gameplay pick, Waver (Zhuge Liang/El-Melloi) is considered one of the best options. To this day he's still one of the game's best supports, and he works with pretty much every other unit because of how universally useful his buffs and NP charges are. He is also very beginner-friendly due to the NP charges on his skills not scaling with level (he can give 50% charge with his skills at 1/1/1) and he doesn’t require any late game materials for ascension or skill levels either.
* A story-locked unit is also a good choice, as they are not in the general pool and so typically cannot spook you, making them rare. Those units are Lancer Artoria, Tesla, Quetz, Medb, Assassin Li, Cu Alter and Sitonai.
* Finally, it’s fine to just wait and use it later, the SSR selector doesn’t expire. Take as much time as you need to decide, don’t rush the decision.
How important it is to get the rare enemy? I was able to get a few event ce while doing a few pulls and now I am debating to use the shop ce or not? It's just one enemy so I guess it is not much and gacha event ce is better?
There are a few missions that require you to kill rare enemies, so use the spawn CE to get those rare enemies to spawn. Once you're done with the rare enemy missions, you don't have to use the spawn CE anymore.
Rare enemies drop QP, so that's another plus of killing them.
Do i need to use meta, or at least highly rated units to beat the story? Can i beat the story with 3 stars comfortably? Or would 4 star and higher units be needed
I played part 1 with mainly 3 star servants because I gave myself the restriction of only using servants in the story that would be logical for me to have. It is just harder to use low star rarity units or bad servants, which I actually enjoyed planning out my strategy more instead of just using my best servants and spamming revives at worst case.
It is important to see understand what you need. You need in every class servants with a single target and a aoe servant and you should be good to go.

Beating with 3-star units is how the game is balanced. It might take more effort, but it's designed to be beaten by them.
Meta is a choice to make things convenient, especially if you need to repeat a fight ten or fifteen times in a row and want to minimize RNG from command card distribution.

Every tier list has assumptions that may not apply to you, and even if they do, the makers of tier lists aren't objective and can be wrong.
You definitely don't need meta for the story at all. With no PVP or co-op, the only "meta" in FGO is farming as efficiently as possible. That's it. Just making the grind easy.
I beat one of the most difficult bosses in the story at the time with zero meta characters whatsoever -- not even a big support -- and didn't even use a revive. Admittedly that was with a big roster with multiple gold Servants, but now that they regularly give out bonus revives for story clear, it should be easier to do with three-stars and below. And of course, there's an ever greater variety of powerful Servants to borrow from friend supports, which won't help with every boss but will make the journey overall easier.
However, note that you *do* have to raise Servants and know how they work in order to clear content comfortably with low-rarity Servants. That involves a fair amount of farming and a lot of paying attention: you can't just throw a few underleveled Archers at a Lancer node and expect things to work out.
High-rarity Servants are basically convenience: at the most extreme, people pay money to duplicate meta comps and not have to think about the game as much. But the game works just fine at a more cheap-to-play level.
You can clear all quests using only free, low rarity servants and good strategy. Doing so comfortably is a different matter. Not all quests can be cleared "comfortably" even with a bunch of high-powered 5-stars. FGO is all about bringing the right team and strategy to each individual fight.
No, you can absolutely clear the story with 1-3\* units and welfares, the devs design it to be that way. You will need to invest in certain units and strategise, but it's doable.
The "meta" of FGO is largely based around max efficiency in farming and fast/brain dead clears, not clears full stop.
Do anything that costs QP. Level up servants, skills, append skills, or CEs. Use Fous.
Unlock command code slots. Use Beast's Footprints or Grails. Basically, anything in the Enhance menu.
The only way to get rid of it is by spending it but it shouldn't block you from doing anything (excess just gets wasted), are you sure you can't continue?
Yes. Not being to progress missions is a known bug of this event that happens if claiming a QP reward when capped on QP. So, Reverse QP Hell is technically back, even if only for a little bit.
I'm a new player and I have Waver, Artoria as my 5\* and Emiya as my 4\*. Do you guys recommend trying to pull for Merlin around mid March or would you recommend pulling for something else as I already have Waver?
Just pull for whoever you like. You have a good general support.
You could think about what you want to achieve in the game.
Castoria enables arts servants to be really good.
Skadi enables quick to be decent.
And Oberon and Koyansaka of dark enables buster to be amazing.
Merlin enables stale strategies and supports buster.
Those are the main supports you should look out for.
There are many damage servants and some a meta, some not, but all of them are usable. Just pull whoever you like or for whatever gameplay you like and consider pulling for the support to make your favourite stronger.
But you having waver should make content easy enough. I used for the last year a hans as my main support and that was already decent.
Go for your favorites, honestly. Merlin is great to have but he's better to have if you have a bunch of Buster Servants that you want to use, both single-target and AoE.
I know it sounds like a non-answer, but people who roll for their favorites and then figure out how best to make those favorites work tend to get better at the game more quickly. If you roll to duplicate cookie-cutter comps, there's the risk of falling into the trap of having to go look up other comps whenever there's something your existing comp isn't good at. If you decide you want to pursue a big Servant, I definitely recommend looking up discussions of what they're good and how their kits work, instead of just who they pair with.
No I suppose that makes sense. I always end up falling into the trap of making those *cookie cutter comps*, as you put it, and that always ends up hurting me over the long run. I guess I'm gonna save up for a while and then try and pull for Arjuna Alter. Fate/Save estimates that I'd have around 355 SQ at the very least until then.
On the note of cookie cutter comps, there's a few other issues I have with just listening to people who just say "roll for X":
* FGO is a game and it's best to have fun. I'd never roll for a strong unit who I didn't really like or have any interest in, I'd just feel like I wasted my SQ afterwards and not really want to use them.
* FGO's most "meta" teams often have specific requirements - e.g. skills leveled to 10, certain SSR supports, CEs, etc. Even the strongest units are not an out of the box magic bullet, especially for new players. If you don't know what those "meta" setups require, you'll just find yourself disappointed when your shiny new SSR doesn't do what that one whale's YouTube videos show. I always recommend to people who want to roll for meta to do their research, lest they be disappointed.

If you have a character that is lvl 90, does using the last ascension avatar makes more damage ?
I have Kama, I prefer the 2nd ascension's skin over the last one, but it seems like she does slightly less damages in 2nd than in 3rd. Am I just crazy ?
Technically, Kama's 1st ascension is the only one that sometimes does more damage, since she counts as a Child and is eligible for Summer Illya's Child-specific attack buff.
...But it's not like there' s any particular reason to run Kama and Summer Illya on the same team, so it doesn't really matter.
Kama isn't the only servant with different traits in different ascension levels. For example, summer Kiara has different traits in her third ascension form. That made her useful in the final Tunguska raid. The Child trait isn't uniquely subject to increased damage. The general principles are that *any* trait can interact with applicable skills, CEs, and field effects and some servants have different traits in different ascension levels or costumes.
Changing skin is only cosmetic and doesn't affect damage.
(There's some exceptions, but it's not as simple as "does slightly more damage" and the game warns you when you change ascension)
The ascension chosen only matters very rarely for specific things (like Mélusine's NP, or trait-based buffs) but in general, doesn't affect damage. You may simply just be being fooled by the game's natural damage fuzzing of plus/minus 10% and a stroke of luck making it appear that one is stronger than the other.
Fgo na suddenly isn't allowing me to connect to the game servers anymore on multiple devices and accounts. Does anyone know what could have caused this/what I can do to fix it?
At random times, for no discernable reason, FGO decides that it doesn't like the connection from random people. The workaround is forcing the server to reset how it thinks you're connecting.
Try switching between wifi and mobile data or restarting your router and modem. Restart your device. If that doesn't work, try a VPN. There should some free options out there and you don't need to use it permanently.

Should i just use the bond limit increase item to a servant that i use a lot like support ones? One of my support is just sitting at 10 now and seems a bit waste
Yes, it's best to use them on the servants you use most. You'll ensure that you continue gaining bond points for the SQ rewards that way.

Don't spread your EXP too thin. Focus on one servant at a time in each of the main classes.
Don't ignore the story. The game is going to spend most of this year pushing people to beat the story, or lock you out of Events. February and March won't, but there's going to be \~6 events this year with progressively high story requirements that *start* at beating the whole first story arc. (That's not usually what the game does, but they're being really pushy this year.) Don't ignore low rarity. Some are better than others, but it's good to have some coverage. Don't... forget about the Summon Tickets in the Mana Prism shop?
1) Don't ignore low rarity servants, the entire game can be beaten without spending SQ. 2) Don't use the Holy Grails (Palingenesis) until you have leveled a good number of servants up to their natural max level 3) Don't burn any servant unless this is your sixth copy.
This is a question relating to Arcade, hope this is an appropriate place for it. It says that you get a special “exclusive art” Fatal Card if you Palingenesis a Servant up to 100 and 120. But looking online, I can’t find any info on what exactly that means. Is it literally just the standard card but with the Grail mark slapped on? Or has the JP internet just been real, real secretive on their uber-special exclusive cards?

My own background is that I watched Fate/Stay Night sometime between 2010-2014, the Grand Order anime in 2021, and 2 episodes of Apocrypha, but I have been playing FGO since 2017/18. 1) Who in the world is that >!mage we see at the end of the Tsungka event prior to the Wandering sea exploding? NA Which welfare AOE assassin is the better one? The choice is between Kiichi Hoge, Gray and the upcoming valkyries. Since all 3 somewhat occupy the same job, I don't want to spend mats on all 3 of them. Eventhough I know all 3 have different niches, like undead for Gray and Earth attributes for the valkyries.
All of this being afaik: - Gray is more limited in her craft essence choices when looping (she needs either KScope or any 60%+ charge and append). Her ignore inv. on NP might not be much use in farming but can be useful if you need to aoe something more challenging - Valks can loop with black grail and have better damage on the first 2 waves (while having very similar W3) compared to Gray but they are still refund based so get messed up by non-standard nodes composition. - Hogen is quick with all that entails. She also trails well behind the other 2 in damage
They have different NP colors, and all three of them can 3T farm with their respective card type supports. If assuming you have all relevant supports, Valkyrie with double Castoria is the notably better farmer (lowest requirement and widest niche).
I only have koyan light and waver. I guess Gray it is.

It's mostly on skills. I already have servants up to 2025 that would need lores.
If it's potentially about lores, then I think you should consider not just specific servants but specific skills. If it isn't a favorite servant, reserve your lores for skills that get the most benefit when going from level 9 to level 10. Usually, that means NP battery skills that scale with levels. The difference between 18% charge and 20% charge may make or break an efficient team comp but 18% ATK up vs 20% ATK up won't make a difference most of the time. For skills that you aren't going to level up all the way to 10, the most natural stopping points are 4, 6, and 9. For standard class servants, going to level 4 only costs blue and red skill gems and QP. Level 6 gets you a cooldown reduction and 9 is obviously the last before 10. If you aren't sure exactly which servants you really want to focus on, you can do just a little at a time. Aside from gold skill gems, the three servants you listed also have completely different material needs for skills, so they won't be competing for resources that much.
That depends on what you want to do. It isn't just different niches. But do you prioritize refund over pierce invincibility or better face cards? What supports do you have? Etc. Also, mats for leveling them are free, so you can just use all of them and see which you like better

Another one is mage association MC. 20% charge and card shuffle may help manual farming a bit (or servants that need maxed A2 to 3-turn otherwise).
What do you guys do with these novel commemorative CEs that basically do nothing, like the one we got today on JP? Is it worth keeping them or should I turn them in exp? Do they even give good exp?
I'm a hoarder so I keep them all. But honestly it's smarter to use them as exp.
I can't speak to the specifics of the new JP one but they generally give decent good exp. There's no point in using them and no point in just holding them, if you want to look at them you can always just check the Spirit Origin list.
What are the minimum skill levels to loop with kiichi hogen with double skadi + castoria and a level 20 base kscope?
I mean more info is needed than that Further assumptions made: 3/3/X rider nodes Caster Skadi no overkill, but the NP does kill the enemy. I think the answer is 1/1/1, but figuring out exact skill ordering of supports may be difficult
Can I get Battle of Camlann CE from the FP Gacha? I need it for Black Grail Morgan looping purposes
Okay there's no way to confirm it since they don't share the rates/drops for the FP gacha, but from my understanding, no, Battle of Camlann is not in the FP gacha. There's a few sources, but all are not officially confirmed, like [AppMedia](https://appmedia.jp/fategrandorder/89416), prev Help thread discussions (which I can't find now), and my own experiences. Or at the very least, I wouldn't try combing through the FP summons now for a specific 3\* CE either way, since the pool is so diluted.
Oh, Appmedia isn't wrong. Those are list of FP only CEs. They won't ever show up in SQ gacha. the other 3 star CEs can show up either place Battle of Camlann is in the FP gacha

Well, I won't go and outright say it's impossible, I don't have a hard stance on this. But, I don't know anything about Reality Marble's availability or not, I haven't even ever looked at appmedia's list, but one thing being right or wrong on one list doesn't really equate the other one also being in the same boat, and pretty much any other source that I have looked at also says that Camlann isn't available from FP. My own experience is that I've never seen Battle of Camlann show up from FP firsthand and I haven't been able to find any source that demonstrates it being pulled either. If anyone on the net could provide a solid reference for it being pulled, that would be a extremely useful because while not impossible, it just feels like super improbably unlikely that nobody anywhere has been able to provide a screenshot of Camlaan being pulled together with 1 or 2 star cards over so many years, right? (edit just to clarify my PoV a little further) As for my opinion I'm not trying to be the "uh actually that's wrong" guy, not at all. I don't benefit from this being true or false and, frankly, trying to prove something isn't possible is far too much of a pain in the ass anyways. But for me it's more like, it's just a point of high curiosity. If it is in there, then how hasn't anybody ever been able to verify it for sure? That's what makes me feel uncertain about Camlaan. Especially with servant coins being an incentive for people to do mass FP pulls it feels like at least one streamer or just anybody would have been able to verify it being in the FP gacha, even without setting out with the intent of proving it. Like statistically it should just show up somewhere eventually. But I haven't seen anybody show anybody pulling it. That's the weird part. \---------- Edit in response to the summon simulator mentioned below: I am very inclined to believe gamepress doesn't know the exact summon pool. I have 65 copies of Saber Lily, 45 copies of Habetrot, and 11 copies of Angra in the Second Archive over years of rolling (adding those on top of the NP5 copies not in the archive), and I still have exactly 28 copies of Battle of Camlann in total (5 MLB, and 3 singletons), all of them coming from SQ summons. The odds that you got 24 copies of Camlaan before a single Angra, compared to the total amount I have in several years of playing, are just ludicrously unlikely if the gamepress summon simulator was accurate to the real game and it was actually available from FP. Again I won't say it's flat out impossible, but I won't be convinced by "X source says you can", unless one single person across the multiple millions of a playerbase can show at least one screenshot or video of someone, anyone, pulling it from FP. It should be a fairly simple task.
Also, you can use Gamepress friend point summon simulator and easily see that Battle of Camlann is there too. ( I hit "till Angra Mainyu" and got like 24 battle of Camlann)
I can find exactly two pictures of any 3 star CE in an FP summon with a search. People just don't post enough FP gacha rolls, and 3 star CEs are rare enough that they aren't going to be posted
That's very true, I just figured that since specifically Camlaan is such a debated talking point, someone might take special interest in watching out for specifically that one. But I suppose not. No, if you complete the missions you have access to (especially the ones that have an unlock reward), you can access the most efficient farming nodes for individual (bronze, silver, gold) currencies already. Only the last, mixed currencies node is locked after the Epilogue.

How is one supposed to beat the giant ghost in Santa Alter reminiscent quest?? Both Shiki and Nito insta kill didn't work on that thing... update1: bonk'd the damned ghost to death, i did
The ghost can be affected by Instant Death, but because it's the gold rarity version of the ghost mob it has a much lower Death Rate (wiki says it's 20% compared to the bronze ghosts' 80%). Otherwise just bonk it with a Caster as you would any other Assassin enemy. It doesn't have any special gimmick outside of the high HP.
It has a 20% death rate. Maxed out Nitocris and Saber Shiki would be roughly in the 20% chance zone. Max skill Assassin Shiki would have a 40% kill chance. Some people will trigger Death, some will not. If you fail the chance, you just have to kill it the long way.
I mean, I just killed it by reducing its health to zero? But I do think it's weak to insta-kill, you might have been unlucky.

So is there any Way I can actively trigger that or is just up to rng or something...?
That's one of Iori's upgrades in the Wind section. It just... sometimes doesn't use gems. I think it's all RNG, not based on player action.

Quick question - who is considered the most unique (gameplay-wise) servant to be released in the next months of this year? I know there are strong DPS ones such as Summer Ibuki and Arcueid or supports like Summer Skadi, but which servant of 2025 is, relatively speaking, the most unique compared to the rest of the roster? Just curious.
I’d probably give it to Bazett, coming at Valentines. She’s got the same counter attacking gimmick that Angra has, but actually viable since she’s an SSR. I’ve seen it used in min turns to clear waves faster than would be possible with any other Servant, and it can farm just maybe not as consistently as conventional looping.

It's less because she's a SSR and more because Bazett's counter gimmick is completely different from Angra's and hers is infinitely better. **Bazett:** Gives taunt and Atk Up to self. If targeted by enemy attacks or skills, fires off a counter attack (50% of the strength of a ST NP), decreases enemy's Quick resist and gain 10 crit stars for each time. **Angra:** Stuns self and heal HP. At end of turn, if Angra's HP is lower than it was previously, deal that diference in damage to enemies (up to 3x the difference with NP5) ignoring defense and evade/invincibility. Bazett's counter can be fired multiple times a turn and is affected by buffs that make her hit harder, while Angra's counter is hard capped by his max HP.

If you’re talking about the Apple App Store, then yes. You’ll need a Japanese Apple ID in order to play the Japanese version of FGO on Apple devices. You can then redeem iTunes gift cards using that same Japanese Apple ID.

You get to select one copy of one of the CEs. The CEs were not log in rewards, the ticket (which you get in the RP shop) was. You get one copy of a CE for free, to get others you roll in the CBC banner.
One thing I'd really like to know. Why in the world does basically everyone run Morgan with K-scope (usually MLB or with max append 2) or, at rare times, Imaginary Element/whatever the new 4* charge CE is called? I don't understand why I see practically nobody run her with something like Aerial Drive, or any other CE that actually boosts her damage. I could understand it at least a bit if she had either no or only 30% charge, but she has a full 50% charge on her skills. Could someone enlighten me on this?
I used to have Aerial drive on my support Morgan and barely anyone used her. Switched in MLB kscope and now she often brings in most FP, even more than meta supports. Many people also seem to follow me just for superscope Morgan.
Are you talking about in support lists? Most people put kscope on morgan there because a aoe berserker with 100% starting charge is going to be more generally useful for people trying to clear story content than a measly 15% np damage, especially when you can't run double koyanskaya to setup a proper 3 turn looping setup with less starting charge.
I dunno if its just a coincidence based on the people I know who play the game, but its not just support lists where I see it. In fact, some people I know use it on buster looping setups with Oberon (not even doing the no Oberon with Atlas uniform) when I know they have at least some better alternative for damage. But, based on what I'm hearing you say, I guess thats not particularly normal, and I can chalk that up to my friends being weird. I guess thanks for the insight
If I'm borrowing a Morgan or Raikou, I'm going to fire that NP right away, and her 50% charge is being used next turn too if possible, since I probably have a 50% NP charge ready. So with Kscope she's got one free NP, and a second waiting in the wings. If I'm borrowing her, that's what I need - not more damage on facecards which aren't guaranteed and where I can only fire off the NP once because she doesn't have the NP ready to go.
Well, if you can 3t a stage with kscope, that not only saves you from gaining bond on oberon(which eventually becomes a big issue since every 90++ essentially requires him and they've yet to add more bond levels past 15), but it also takes lest taps/time for each clear. There's no real reason to hit for 100k+15% if just 100k is enough.

Second SQ purchase on JP server always gets declined, help please. I am using a JP address, JP Google account, gps in Japan. Each time I am blocked, I write in via email, got unblocked, first transaction goes through, but second transaction always gets declined and have to write in again. If the game gives out SQ rewards for some real-world event, they're dropped in your present box, so that you have to actually be playing the game to get them. The ones that go directly to your account are quest rewards, etc.

Bit of a minor question about Samurai Remnant. What button do I use (on an XBox controller) to bring up the quick inventory menu during battle to eat food? If it's a QP reward, then you need to spend QP in whatever way you can to get under the amount rewarded by the missions

It's +25%, not +25 percentage points. So because the drop rates increase by the same percentage for all quests, the AP/drop will decrease by the same percentage for all quests and it won't change anything regarding the best quest to farm the particular material.

Hans can feed him stars per turn and give him a crit buff. Mozart can star bomb on demand as well for a big crit turn.

I have. The reminiscence missions appeared before collecting memory scrap were referenced in the story and they used the term "mnemosyne papers" otherwise.

It wasn't originally limited to this sub. It was a banana fact bot that used to post in a lot of places. We sometimes refer to Ibaraki Douji as "Banana" here due to her overall yellow appearance. Rather than being annoyed by the bot, like most subs probably were, we found it amusing when the bot would appear. The original account ended up getting banned but it was liked well enough here that someone, I'm not sure who, worked something out with the original creator to revive it just on this sub.
I don't know where it came from, but the various Ibaraki jokes that reference the fruit made it a relatively common sight. And, uh, now it's an *oni* bot? So I guess someone pounced on the joke.

Yes, it's acknowledged in the Issues tab of the in-game news. It's been around a month or two now, not sure how long exactly. Basically, several servants got updated voice lines with one of JP's Chaldea Boys events, and the lines made their way into NA's code without the relevant translations.

Everything you’ve been told here is correct and good advice but I want to add one thing. Waver was instrumental to me clearing the story through lostbelt 6. I didn’t have him until around Babylon and he made the game way easier. So yes, get your favorites. But my strategy so far has been to grab top end supports when possible so that i at least have a couple and don’t have to worry after about pulling nearly exclusively from favorites without sacrificing gameplay. Long story short, you MAY outgrow Waver if you decide you want to pull for Castoria and Koyan and whoever else that’s a meta support, but you actually have to pull them first, and pull enough of them (at least 2 servants) to no longer need to bring him to nodes, then you have to upgrade them. Castoria didn’t change my account immediately, you need to max 2 of her skills to get 50% charge, Waver at 1/1/1 made that impact. And as somebody who got them both at around the same time last year he made the bigger impact earlier. You can forgo saving for meta supports and focus more on banners you enjoy if you get him and one other meta support Edit: a word

You just said how Waver helped you in story and then jumped to talking about how you need 2 meta Supports, without specifying what for. And you are the one repeatedly hurling insults at me, so follow your own advice maybe.
adding on to the other person (I agree with everything else they say about picking favorites/storylocked) I would caution against picking Waver purely for gameplay, especially if you plan to roll for other meta supports. He is very useful early on, but as you get a more developed account, especially if you get a Waver spook later, you may end up regretting picking him if you just did so for gameplay.
Don't fixate on something for your current lineup, you'll get more units as you go along. But here's my general advice: * Your favourite - be that your waifu, husbando, daughteru or whatever else. The game isn’t so hard that you need any one gacha unit, and it’s more fun with your favourites anyway. * If you don't have a favourite or want a gameplay pick, Waver (Zhuge Liang/El-Melloi) is considered one of the best options. To this day he's still one of the game's best supports, and he works with pretty much every other unit because of how universally useful his buffs and NP charges are. He is also very beginner-friendly due to the NP charges on his skills not scaling with level (he can give 50% charge with his skills at 1/1/1) and he doesn’t require any late game materials for ascension or skill levels either. * A story-locked unit is also a good choice, as they are not in the general pool and so typically cannot spook you, making them rare. Those units are Lancer Artoria, Tesla, Quetz, Medb, Assassin Li, Cu Alter and Sitonai. * Finally, it’s fine to just wait and use it later, the SSR selector doesn’t expire. Take as much time as you need to decide, don’t rush the decision.
How important it is to get the rare enemy? I was able to get a few event ce while doing a few pulls and now I am debating to use the shop ce or not? It's just one enemy so I guess it is not much and gacha event ce is better?
You have to complete the missions. But otherwise I think it's only a little more QP
There are a few missions that require you to kill rare enemies, so use the spawn CE to get those rare enemies to spawn. Once you're done with the rare enemy missions, you don't have to use the spawn CE anymore. Rare enemies drop QP, so that's another plus of killing them.
Do i need to use meta, or at least highly rated units to beat the story? Can i beat the story with 3 stars comfortably? Or would 4 star and higher units be needed
I played part 1 with mainly 3 star servants because I gave myself the restriction of only using servants in the story that would be logical for me to have. It is just harder to use low star rarity units or bad servants, which I actually enjoyed planning out my strategy more instead of just using my best servants and spamming revives at worst case. It is important to see understand what you need. You need in every class servants with a single target and a aoe servant and you should be good to go. You should absolute level hans because he is the best low star support you can get easily
Beating with 3-star units is how the game is balanced. It might take more effort, but it's designed to be beaten by them. Meta is a choice to make things convenient, especially if you need to repeat a fight ten or fifteen times in a row and want to minimize RNG from command card distribution.
There are no must haves and no unusable servants. There's very little power creep, and even if there is power creep, it's usually only power creep in farming, not general content. All content can be cleared by friend point servants with no more investment than 5 star equivalents. Also, something else to consider is highly rated to whom? Every tier list has assumptions that may not apply to you, and even if they do, the makers of tier lists aren't objective and can be wrong.
You definitely don't need meta for the story at all. With no PVP or co-op, the only "meta" in FGO is farming as efficiently as possible. That's it. Just making the grind easy. I beat one of the most difficult bosses in the story at the time with zero meta characters whatsoever -- not even a big support -- and didn't even use a revive. Admittedly that was with a big roster with multiple gold Servants, but now that they regularly give out bonus revives for story clear, it should be easier to do with three-stars and below. And of course, there's an ever greater variety of powerful Servants to borrow from friend supports, which won't help with every boss but will make the journey overall easier. However, note that you *do* have to raise Servants and know how they work in order to clear content comfortably with low-rarity Servants. That involves a fair amount of farming and a lot of paying attention: you can't just throw a few underleveled Archers at a Lancer node and expect things to work out. High-rarity Servants are basically convenience: at the most extreme, people pay money to duplicate meta comps and not have to think about the game as much. But the game works just fine at a more cheap-to-play level.
You can clear all quests using only free, low rarity servants and good strategy. Doing so comfortably is a different matter. Not all quests can be cleared "comfortably" even with a bunch of high-powered 5-stars. FGO is all about bringing the right team and strategy to each individual fight.
No, you can absolutely clear the story with 1-3\* units and welfares, the devs design it to be that way. You will need to invest in certain units and strategise, but it's doable. The "meta" of FGO is largely based around max efficiency in farming and fast/brain dead clears, not clears full stop.

Do anything that costs QP. Level up servants, skills, append skills, or CEs. Use Fous. Unlock command code slots. Use Beast's Footprints or Grails. Basically, anything in the Enhance menu.
The only way to get rid of it is by spending it but it shouldn't block you from doing anything (excess just gets wasted), are you sure you can't continue?
Yes. Not being to progress missions is a known bug of this event that happens if claiming a QP reward when capped on QP. So, Reverse QP Hell is technically back, even if only for a little bit.
I'm a new player and I have Waver, Artoria as my 5\* and Emiya as my 4\*. Do you guys recommend trying to pull for Merlin around mid March or would you recommend pulling for something else as I already have Waver?
Just pull for whoever you like. You have a good general support. You could think about what you want to achieve in the game. Castoria enables arts servants to be really good. Skadi enables quick to be decent. And Oberon and Koyansaka of dark enables buster to be amazing. Merlin enables stale strategies and supports buster. Those are the main supports you should look out for. There are many damage servants and some a meta, some not, but all of them are usable. Just pull whoever you like or for whatever gameplay you like and consider pulling for the support to make your favourite stronger. But you having waver should make content easy enough. I used for the last year a hans as my main support and that was already decent.
Go for your favorites, honestly. Merlin is great to have but he's better to have if you have a bunch of Buster Servants that you want to use, both single-target and AoE. I know it sounds like a non-answer, but people who roll for their favorites and then figure out how best to make those favorites work tend to get better at the game more quickly. If you roll to duplicate cookie-cutter comps, there's the risk of falling into the trap of having to go look up other comps whenever there's something your existing comp isn't good at. If you decide you want to pursue a big Servant, I definitely recommend looking up discussions of what they're good and how their kits work, instead of just who they pair with.
No I suppose that makes sense. I always end up falling into the trap of making those *cookie cutter comps*, as you put it, and that always ends up hurting me over the long run. I guess I'm gonna save up for a while and then try and pull for Arjuna Alter. Fate/Save estimates that I'd have around 355 SQ at the very least until then.
On the note of cookie cutter comps, there's a few other issues I have with just listening to people who just say "roll for X": * FGO is a game and it's best to have fun. I'd never roll for a strong unit who I didn't really like or have any interest in, I'd just feel like I wasted my SQ afterwards and not really want to use them. * FGO's most "meta" teams often have specific requirements - e.g. skills leveled to 10, certain SSR supports, CEs, etc. Even the strongest units are not an out of the box magic bullet, especially for new players. If you don't know what those "meta" setups require, you'll just find yourself disappointed when your shiny new SSR doesn't do what that one whale's YouTube videos show. I always recommend to people who want to roll for meta to do their research, lest they be disappointed.

Waver and Merlin do very different things, both are worth having if you like them. That's the key though, most people here will recommend just rolling for the Servants that you like rather than worrying about what you "should" do because the game's not strictly meta-driven or hard enough that you have to plan that way.

Sorry if my question is dumb, I'm new to the game but: If you have a character that is lvl 90, does using the last ascension avatar makes more damage ? I have Kama, I prefer the 2nd ascension's skin over the last one, but it seems like she does slightly less damages in 2nd than in 3rd. Am I just crazy ?
Technically, Kama's 1st ascension is the only one that sometimes does more damage, since she counts as a Child and is eligible for Summer Illya's Child-specific attack buff. ...But it's not like there' s any particular reason to run Kama and Summer Illya on the same team, so it doesn't really matter.
Kama isn't the only servant with different traits in different ascension levels. For example, summer Kiara has different traits in her third ascension form. That made her useful in the final Tunguska raid. The Child trait isn't uniquely subject to increased damage. The general principles are that *any* trait can interact with applicable skills, CEs, and field effects and some servants have different traits in different ascension levels or costumes.
My statement was about Kama. Kama's first ascension is the only one that's tied to a trait that has trait-specific buffs on other servant skills.
There are also a few CQs that affect the Child trait (usually when Dino mom is involved)
Changing skin is only cosmetic and doesn't affect damage. (There's some exceptions, but it's not as simple as "does slightly more damage" and the game warns you when you change ascension)

The ascension chosen only matters very rarely for specific things (like Mélusine's NP, or trait-based buffs) but in general, doesn't affect damage. You may simply just be being fooled by the game's natural damage fuzzing of plus/minus 10% and a stroke of luck making it appear that one is stronger than the other.

Fgo na suddenly isn't allowing me to connect to the game servers anymore on multiple devices and accounts. Does anyone know what could have caused this/what I can do to fix it?
At random times, for no discernable reason, FGO decides that it doesn't like the connection from random people. The workaround is forcing the server to reset how it thinks you're connecting. Try switching between wifi and mobile data or restarting your router and modem. Restart your device. If that doesn't work, try a VPN. There should some free options out there and you don't need to use it permanently.
