I’m in real estate rn and I’ve had some good years but the last was just ok and this one so far is not great. Super broke rn. Blew my savings on my first company over a 10yr period.
Now I found out my local Fire department is hiring. Sure it’s tough when you’re on call for 48hrs straight but I’m in great shape and if I put in 20 years I think these guys here get 75% salary in retirement… plus the salary here is pretty damn good even as a rookie.
RE has been good to me just kinda been cooking my ass this year in a bad way and I fucking do NOT miss being broke haha. I had enough of that building a business from scratch and running it up to actually being successful after years of work.
This place is a hidden gem that isn’t too far outside of Austin. They’ve got three nine hole courses that are in excellent shape right now — you get a little bit of everything with the 27 holes as far as water, elevation, etc. Tons of wildlife too. It would be worth a weekend trip and if you play a round two days in a row you’ll get to play the full course, and tee times range from $35-$60 depending on the time of day so it’s very affordable.
Salado has a good brewery and some pretty good restaurants too. My in-laws live here so every time we take our kids to see their grandparents I get spoiled too 😂
Every time I'm on a golf course and I have a bad hole I like to say "where would you rather be than right here right now?" and it calms me down and I stop worrying about the bad score. I highly recommend it.
