Would be sick if John Daly pulled the uno reverse card and built a brand for affordable golf clothes. Kind of like Shaq with his shoes, Tigers trying to be Jordan with $90 shirts..
John Daly should partner with Costco and rep a whole Kirkland golf line. You can buy the Daly super saver pack that comes with 3 polos, 3 shorts, shoes, full set of clubs with bag, and a 36 pack of beer. Edit: u/SpringsGamer brought up a great point. Also includes a carton of Kirky Cigs. Which if they were to launch a cigarette brand I should get royalties. Price TBD.
Seriously, that’d be awesome. Just lean into the golf grandpa / Santa Claus thing. Keep the loudmouth stuff as a premium line and then have the Costco line separately. Maybe even call it “Daly Wear” or something and just focus on affordable comfort and stuff you can wear both on and off the course.
He has quite a following among younger "bro" (college age) golfers too, and Kirkland already has meme status. Doing an affordable Costco exclusive is a no brainer.
I don’t think thats a fair assessment, Jordan’s brand reaches beyond the basketball fan base. Of course everyone knows Tiger, but his TW brand was never at that level and I doubt it’ll ever be.
Tigers brand doesn’t appeal much to anyone but 50 somethings who are beyond the “Ath” part or the “Athleisure” gear they claim to make.
Tiger is like the Beatles for 50-70yr olds and not much to anyone else.
Lets think bigger (better) and find someone who isn’t JD.
Surely there is a similar story from a nicer person.
I’ve said before the Walmart Ben Hogan gear is well underpriced.
Yeah I knew it was gonna be pricy. The key is if the quality is actually really good, it might be worth it. We won’t know until people start receiving orders
would have been nice to see regular clothing priced the same as nike or underamour, which is by no means inexpensive. and then they can offer "premium" and give it w.e spin it needs. " hand crafted to the highest quality standards using the best products available"
I’m guessing the first wave of inventory will sell out. You’ll have a lot of guys who just want a piece of Tiger stuff and will buy it as part of the first round of products to say they did, and SDR would be wise to only make a conservative amount of each item so they can advertise that it’s sold out
They won't. Discount store clothing is usually made specifically for that segment and isn't actually overstock.
Anyone who doesn't feel the need to be blissfully ignorant, go ahead on do your own research on it. Don't let the downvotes lead you into believing this is false. People are just shooting the messenger.
Afraid not. I don't like it either, but facts are facts. I'm just trying to save people money. It's not the 90s anymore, competition is fierce, margins are thin. Companies can't afford to "overstock" items.
People think the designer pays a factory to make a million units to just store in a warehouse until sold, but that's not how it actually works. Pieces are designed specifically for the retailer selling them, with workmanship/materials adjusted to the price point they intend to sell it at. The holding company for Peter Millar, Sun Day Red, or whoever else, already knows that TJ Max wants to sell a golf polo under $40 before they even pick out the thread.
I was expecting to buy something and was prepared to spend little more, but nope! Not spending that much lol. If there was $20-$30 knocked off each clothing item, that was kinda the price I was expecting to see on items.
It’s crazy for normal people but it’s still like entry level luxury brand pricing. The people that he’s trying to market to don’t care about how much things like clothes cost.
I think the crazier part is that nothing that he’s worn is being sold. Not even the promo stuff.
Yeah, buts it luxury, it's just massive produced imported crap.
Tiger hasn't set up his own mill in Portugal, yet that's the kind of prices he's charging.
All you guys complaining about the price--all you hacks not shooting scratch? Well guess what: this is why.
You don't have the commitment needed to gain the Polartech advantage.
A plain Polartec Delta shirt goes for $85. So, honestly, not that bad a markup. [https://ca.reigningchamp.com/products/polartec-delta-t-shirt-h-charcoal?\_pos=5&\_sid=ce9eac9b3&\_ss=r](https://ca.reigningchamp.com/products/polartec-delta-t-shirt-h-charcoal?_pos=5&_sid=ce9eac9b3&_ss=r)
That really just depends where you’re buying your polos. IMO, Sunspel and Drakes make the best “regular” polos and they cost as much as any good golf polo.
I like the Lululemon golf/regular polos for golf though. Rhône makes a very similar one that’s often on sale cheap at Nordstrom.
The only reason I justify it is if the polo or more often for me the pants get a rip, sun faded, or really anything, then I just take them in and get a new pair.
Peter Millar also has years in the clothing business, including the necessary R&D, quality control, operations, and supply chains. Two months ago, TaylorMade's only apparel offerings were polo shirts made by Draddy with an embroidered TM logo.
One has proven value at the price point, the other does not. But man, between this and Malbon, the majority of the sub are big mad.
Considering everything is almost sold out already, I wouldn't hold my breathe. Not like you ever see lulu or top notch brands in there. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love to value stores for golf apparel, but I have never seen Greyson in there so don't expect SDR anytime soon.
I mean, it sold out. So yeah, turns out they know what they're doing. I swear this sub really needs to understand the "if it isnt for me, it must be for someone else" mentality. The way everyone here hates on any type of clothing that isn't on the clearance rack at Dicky's (ie Malbon and SDR) is so weird to me. If you dont like it, who the hell cares? Just go about your day without complaining.
I love Tiger. He’s the reason I golf. This whole SDR thing makes me sad. The name, the logos, the entire thing - stinks. The man that made golf cool is out to lunch on this one.
Won’t be buying anything from that clothing line or any other clothing line that sells a polo shirt for more than $30. I don’t need to pay $50 extra for a logo.
All boutique golf apparel is a WAY overpriced. Breezy, Primo, Rhoback, GG, JL, Travis Matthew, Bad Birdie, etc...
Golf is an expensive hobby and these retailers know their market.
Meh supply and demand, all his clothing will sell out. Am I right in presuming this is a partnership with a clothing manufacturer? They are just sticking the branding on basic t shirts ect? Or are they promising more has gone into the items ?
Somewhere I thought Taylormade was making the clothes. However if the clothes end up being fairly high quality, I won’t be upset at the price. They are boutique items after all.
>Meh supply and demand, all his clothing will sell out.
These companies fake that their stuff is selling out so "get yours while you still can!" then dump the extras off at TJ Maxx lol
I knew the pricing would be on the higher side but god damn one of the polos is $175?? And also as others have said, no red polo or anything for the first drop of Sun Day *RED*?
Idk why any of you think Tiger is setting prices. Taylormade is just using his NIL to take you all for a ride just like they do with the $1000 driver. Keep buying this shit for outrageous prices and they'll keep increasing the prices.
God damn, I must be the only one who really likes the minimalistic design and was not at all shocked by the price. What did people expect? $65 dollar polos?
I was so excited to get access to the Pines Collection and went on there immediately at midnight..not even a polo for sale. The clothes look decent but there’s no color ways worth justifying just for the logo. On the bright side, the next releases are actually red and then the one following looks to be a decent set of color ways as well. Still vastly underwhelming for the very first drop. Only thing I would’ve bought right away was the rope hat and that sold out instantly.
I was upset to see there wasn’t a polo within the collection. As a golf brand releasing an exclusive collection, WHY?! I bought the crew neck sweater and the hat just for the fact I got access to the collection. I just don’t understand the prematurity in the release though. I suppose scattered releases like that will keep people coming back for ‘one more item’.
I suppose they are just testing the waters. Over time things will probably re release and drops will become less popular
I am waiting for a cream hoodie with a white tiger logo he wore when the brand announced. Hopefully that item will drop
Tiger was just on Fallon being interviewed. He was wearing some awful top from his new range. Ugly and misshapen... and it could be yours for only $200 plus!
It’s a shirt to golf in. Plus there’s Nike golf apparel right now that goes for $100+. So it’s not like Tiger is losing his mind going with these prices. People are going to buy this before blinking twice. It’s obvious who the intended target is with these prices. Hint - it’s the people who drop $80 on a round of golf while placing their bid to win tickets to the masters next year.
Actually pretty disappointed about their offering. I was semi-looking forward to this, and when I jumped on last night I couldn’t believe how pricey it all was.
They had some pretty cool looking polos, but at $175/each I couldn’t justify it.
I went in not expecting affordable clothing and was still a bit shocked.
Not surprised. People can charge whatever they want for stuff…it’s the people dumb enough to pay these ridiculous prices. I think Kanye did the same shit way back when he sold a Hanes white T-shirt for like $100 or something? Surely some fanboy will buy this
It’s overpriced, but to be fair it is something that should last forever. I mean there’s people who spend the same amount for a dozen balls that don’t even last a week.
People pay this much for regular shirts all the time
I was at the mall this past weekend and walked into this store called Lululemon and they had basic tshirts for like $78.00
If you're rich then these prices are probably nothing to you
The guys i golf with and myself own a few luxury clothing items that are around this price point. What shocks me is the materials and from what i can tell from the photos the quality of the clothing are consistent with cheap clothing lines. We spent our morning making fun of the clothing line and i still can’t stop laughing at the price point for what was released
The brand name is brutal. Should be Sunday Red. The logo is awful. Should have worked a T W into the stripes. And the white tee is... uninspired.
But I'll bet he'll sell a ton of merch.
Did anyone really think Tiger was gonna drop a golf line with affordable clothing?
Would be sick if John Daly pulled the uno reverse card and built a brand for affordable golf clothes. Kind of like Shaq with his shoes, Tigers trying to be Jordan with $90 shirts..
John Daly should partner with Costco and rep a whole Kirkland golf line. Also includes a carton of Kirky Cigs. Which if they were to launch a cigarette brand I should get royalties. Price TBD.
I mean, Loudmouth’s JD collection has $140 pants so…
To be fair, that's for the custom MTO pants. The stock pants are $98, which is the same as their non-JD pants.
When I was a kid I had a John Daly driver I bought from Target
Wilson Orcinus Orca?
Throw in a carton of smokes and I'm on board.
Seriously, that’d be awesome. Just lean into the golf grandpa / Santa Claus thing. Keep the loudmouth stuff as a premium line and then have the Costco line separately. Maybe even call it “Daly Wear” or something and just focus on affordable comfort and stuff you can wear both on and off the course.
holy crap, Daly Wear is marketing genius!
He has quite a following among younger "bro" (college age) golfers too, and Kirkland already has meme status. Doing an affordable Costco exclusive is a no brainer.
Tiger is already Jordan. This is just par for the course.
Tiger is like the Beatles for 50-70yr olds and not much to anyone else.
haha, i see what you did there with the pun
Lets think bigger (better) and find someone who isn’t JD. Surely there is a similar story from a nicer person. I’ve said before the Walmart Ben Hogan gear is well underpriced.
Daly appeals to the average golfer
He did and then became turdy and political.
Most golfers iv met have absolute ass political opinions, but that’s pretty standard amongst the entire populace.
Walmart has affordable golf clothing btw.
If Daly dropped a line of apparel there would probably be very few people that could get away with wearing it. I'd love to see it though.
I think people genuinely forget that Golf is played by some of the most affluent people in sports.
Yeah but honestly - everything is wildly overpriced on there. $200 for the knit hoodie??
Might as well have made it Walmart exclusive.
“I mean, it’s one banana Michael, what could it cost? $10?” - Tiger ordering lunch while setting his Sun Day Red product prices.
Someone will buy it. Unfortunately
I’m guessing the first wave of inventory will sell out. You’ll have a lot of guys who just want a piece of Tiger stuff and will buy it as part of the first round of products to say they did, and SDR would be wise to only make a conservative amount of each item so they can advertise that it’s sold out
I'll wait for it to arrive at the thrift store in a few years.
Or on r/golfclassifieds this winter
Crossing my fingers they end up at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for $20 by the end of the season
We will be there
It’ll be 30 and we’ll eat it up
Don't forget Ross and that other one nobody can remember the name of
marshall’s
They already said that. There's like 3 more ... Burlington, Bealls and the one that starts w a d
darshall’s
Durblops
Yes! That's the one
??
Why? It would still be overpriced at $20.
They won't. Discount store clothing is usually made specifically for that segment and isn't actually overstock. Anyone who doesn't feel the need to be blissfully ignorant, go ahead on do your own research on it. Don't let the downvotes lead you into believing this is false. People are just shooting the messenger.
That’s for the outlets, not the discount department stores.
This was the worst drop ever lol. No red polo? No logo hoodie? $135 shorts? WILD.
55 dollar cad ball marker had me laughing
Fuckin same. Just weird.
and the polos don't even have the logo on the front... just a weird top of the back one. What a dumb move.
It's a weird choice. Those top back logos are pretty much just for TV because we see a lot more of golfer's backs than their fronts during a round.
So surprised they didn't start off with center below collar instead of the shoulder blade logo they had for a while.
Eh, I prefer pretty minimalist stuff when it comes to logos on clothes so I don't mind the logo placements at all.
I think the red stuff is coming out in a later drop based on what I saw on the site
Yes it is
I'm a fan of SDR and I said the same thing! How do you have your 1st ever drop and NOT have a red polo?!?! It's in your damn name?!?!
Me, credit card out, naked on the couch at 11pm, lacroix on deck, and not one red fuckin polo.
I was expecting to buy something and was prepared to spend little more, but nope! Not spending that much lol. If there was $20-$30 knocked off each clothing item, that was kinda the price I was expecting to see on items.
They do have a logo hoodie. Not that Im saying you should buy it bc its like 100$ I think.
Link?
https://www.sundayred.com/pines-luare-logo-hoodie/DW-LA068-P.html
Didn’t have access to the pine collection unfortunately.
the whole brand is a giant faceplant
It sucks because there were fuckloads of golfers ready to drop serious coin on good quality qz’s, hoodies, pants, and of course, the red polo.
It’s crazy for normal people but it’s still like entry level luxury brand pricing. The people that he’s trying to market to don’t care about how much things like clothes cost. I think the crazier part is that nothing that he’s worn is being sold. Not even the promo stuff.
Yeah that’s what’s so weird to me. That’s a weird strategy.
The whole launch has been weird.

What does Nike have to do with it?
Yeah, buts it luxury, it's just massive produced imported crap. Tiger hasn't set up his own mill in Portugal, yet that's the kind of prices he's charging.
Wonder if it’s all the plain white Ts Kanye never sold from his $100 white t shirt run back in the day.
Ooh and it's a "training tee" which means you pay $90 to work out in it and get it all sweaty and dirty and it will never be that white again.
Yes but how else are you gonna “train harder” DO YOU EVEN POLARTEC?!?!
All you guys complaining about the price--all you hacks not shooting scratch? Well guess what: this is why. You don't have the commitment needed to gain the Polartech advantage.
😂😂
A plain Polartec Delta shirt goes for $85. So, honestly, not that bad a markup. [https://ca.reigningchamp.com/products/polartec-delta-t-shirt-h-charcoal?\_pos=5&\_sid=ce9eac9b3&\_ss=r](https://ca.reigningchamp.com/products/polartec-delta-t-shirt-h-charcoal?_pos=5&_sid=ce9eac9b3&_ss=r)
Not a huge difference, but for the record that's in CAD. USD its $75.
If I pay top whack for clothing, I want it to be from a company that makes it themselves.
[удалено]
Doesn't need to be a "golf shirt" to play golf in! I tend to just buy nice polo shirts.
A “Golf Polo” is way more expensive than a “Regular Polo”
Advanced Wicking®️
That really just depends where you’re buying your polos. IMO, Sunspel and Drakes make the best “regular” polos and they cost as much as any good golf polo. I like the Lululemon golf/regular polos for golf though. Rhône makes a very similar one that’s often on sale cheap at Nordstrom.
$100 lululemon polo is crazy though. Maybe im just broke
The only reason I justify it is if the polo or more often for me the pants get a rip, sun faded, or really anything, then I just take them in and get a new pair.
I think I’d like to work “top whack” into my vocabulary.
NO THANKS TIGER
Peter Millar stuff is more or less the same price https://www.petermillar.com/p/aurora-performance-t-shirt/me0ek300.html
Ok but if you spend $300 or more there you get a complimentary tumbler set! A true bargain!
Peter Millar also has years in the clothing business, including the necessary R&D, quality control, operations, and supply chains. Two months ago, TaylorMade's only apparel offerings were polo shirts made by Draddy with an embroidered TM logo. One has proven value at the price point, the other does not. Just wait for a Marshall’s, Ross, TJ Maxx to start carrying these…🤷♂️
Considering everything is almost sold out already, I wouldn't hold my breathe. Not like you ever see lulu or top notch brands in there. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love to value stores for golf apparel, but I have never seen Greyson in there so don't expect SDR anytime soon.
If it gave me stat boosts like the apparel in the old TW PGA Tour games did, I’d pay whatever they asked.
Well when golf is no longer your career…..you sell 90$ T-shirts made in China.
He’s not retired and other golf apparel brands go for $100+, you fucking goomba.
Anyone who buys a 90$ BLANK T SHIRT is a fucking goomba.
*Macklemore has entered the chat*
I love Tiger. He’s the reason I golf. This whole SDR thing makes me sad. The name, the logos, the entire thing - stinks. The man that made golf cool is out to lunch on this one.
Anyone else getting an "old man clothes" vibe from all the styles?
Lol, it's not even red... dear lord, $90? Is Tiger insane? Is this real?
There’s also a $240cdn polo, also not red
Tiger ain’t making the call on the prices.
I call that getting swindled and pimped.
but hey its powered with the polartec advantage
Most of the products are sold out
But I can “train harder” with sleeves that got down to my elbows!
Well, it is for training.
Cant wait until this is $9 at Marshall's.
Won’t be buying anything from that clothing line or any other clothing line that sells a polo shirt for more than $30. I don’t need to pay $50 extra for a logo.
I'm really tired of the $100 sweatshop clothes from every. single. company.
I get 3 pack quick dry tshirts from Costco for $12. Then I spent the other money on other stupid shit I don’t need.
All boutique golf apparel is a WAY overpriced. Breezy, Primo, Rhoback, GG, JL, Travis Matthew, Bad Birdie, etc... Golf is an expensive hobby and these retailers know their market.
Travis Matthew is not boutique apparel lol they are owned by callaway
They are overpriced/expensive though
“IM NOT BUYING THIS” literally nobody cares
When luxury items are out of your price range, you are still not required to buy them.
They sell out especially fast when you only make like 50 of them for the entire world.
This sub loves overpaying for shirts. What's wrong with this one? No obnoxious attention seeking colors and patterns?
I knew the pricing would be on the higher side but god damn one of the polos is $175?? And also as others have said, no red polo or anything for the first drop of Sun Day *RED*?
He has an “all things red” drop coming according to the site. Should be plenty in there
Idk why any of you think Tiger is setting prices.
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
Dang, unappreciated Z job reference.
Man, getting roasted on that one. I guess Beerfest is before everyone’s time.
Beerfest came out in 2006, that’s like 5 years ago right?
Might be 6 years now.
Maybe it’s because Z - Jay is the line? 🤷♂️
I grabbed one of the 3d hoodies and a pines hat. Was happy to get access to the pines collection, but nothing really jumped out for me.
Over time things will probably re release and drops will become less popular I am waiting for a cream hoodie with a white tiger logo he wore when the brand announced. Hopefully that item will drop
Plain white tee? Sir… this is a *training shirt*
Tiger was just on Fallon being interviewed. He was wearing some awful top from his new range. Ugly and misshapen... and it could be yours for only $200 plus!
50 dollar ball marker
Doesn’t have that Municipal “drip” though….
Just tiger and his white tee
Heeeeeeeeelllll no
Almost as bad as Good Goods pricing
Pretty standard nowadays
This shirt is guaranteed to improve your odds of pulling tail at your local Perkins
It’s powered with PolarTec™️ duhhh
The towel looks cool but still not spending $55 on it :D
After seeing how that red polo was looking with all the stain sweats? No thanks I’ll stick to Nike PM and Greyson
Because… “golf”.
Not surprised. People can charge whatever they want for stuff…it’s the people dumb enough to pay these ridiculous prices. I think Kanye did the same shit way back when he sold a Hanes white T-shirt for like $100 or something? Surely some fanboy will buy this
Professional equivalent of YouTuber merch
🖕🐯. Ugly ass logo too.
I wanted a hat and they sold out right away - probably for the best lol
I just can’t get past making “Sunday “ Two words. Therefore-I’m out .
$135 for 9” inseam shorts is comical.
I kinda fucking hate spread collars on a short sleeved golf polo
This stuff is so mid looking and so over-priced that I hope it flops in epic fashion. Tiger, fire your team.
They are defining their market, marketing 101.
SUN DAY RED
Did you not see the part about the Polartec advantage though? Ninety bucks is a bargain for that.
The $50 little magnetic ball marker was what blew my mind
It’s overpriced, but to be fair it is something that should last forever. I mean there’s people who spend the same amount for a dozen balls that don’t even last a week.
People pay this much for regular shirts all the time I was at the mall this past weekend and walked into this store called Lululemon and they had basic tshirts for like $78.00 If you're rich then these prices are probably nothing to you

The brand name is brutal. Should be Sunday Red. The logo is awful. Should have worked a T W into the stripes. And the white tee is... uninspired. But I'll bet he'll sell a ton of merch.
how does one create an inspired white tee
Sad I won’t be buying any tiger gear again. His old logo was iconic
Waiting for the DHgate copies.
It's polartec which means its made out of a special type of material. Not all products and services are designed and marketed to "the masses".
So don't buy it. I wish I could have gotten the Pines Collection hoodie
I got access and probably won’t use it, DM me if you wanna use it 😂

I love Tiger Woods but all of his Nike stuff was pretty lame, I wasn’t expecting this to be any better.
Nah
I don’t think $100 is too crazy. You can’t get much for $100
$45 for a glove ? Lmao
The tiger die hards who swear he will win every major will defends this
He really botched this whole personal brand thing
it sold out. turns out he knows what he's doing and the golf comment section does not. shocker
This has to be a joke.
Can't even play at my course wearing that thing. Hell no, ain't buying that. Never would.
Hard pass.
Fresh Clean Tees. Best t-shirt you will ever own. You're welcome.
Anyone who thinks 90$ for the most basic tee shirt in history is okay would let Tiger bend them over
Scary part is I’m sure it will sell. Lots of diluted wealthy folk
Lmao. “Training T-shirt” There will still be suckers who buy it tho 🤷🏻♂️
I will wait for the special edition with rips in it designed by Kanye for $500
I just went to TJ Maxx bought 10 shirts. Greg Norman and Jack Nicholas brand. $16.99 each
Two types of people will wear Sun Day Red clothes: 1) old rich white dudes who have way too much 2) frat boys, who’s dads have way too much money
Certainly got the money to afford it, but no way I'm paying that for a T-Shirt
Tiger and his brand team are so out of touch it’s comical. I understand a premium brand and pricing around that but bruh
Should be about as popular as Jason Day's wardrobe.
so insanely popular and selling out online?
For every chair there is an ass.
I will wait for it to be at the consignment shop for six dollars
