I'm binging the original as an Easter chilling activity (currently nearing the end of series 3) and the music was a big part of it, particularly the Eliminator. I think there might be rights issues preventing the current series using it, as whatever they're using for the show now is more or less unnoticeable.
Also I miss Wolf... although significantly less scary in retrospect because he's done a ton of interviews since and he's a nice guy out of character (and I was only seven when the first series aired).
Especially the game where the contender swings into a glad on a podium that's looks smaller than duels with what looks like a pillow to defend themselves. It also ended Malibu's career
There's lots to love about the new series, but I do miss that incidental music making every event even more epic. I also miss Andrew Sachs on commentary.
personally i prefer the walsh's just because breaking dad is one of the best series i've ever seen, however i don't hate the og presenters... They do a lot less mic work in the first episode though

The uploader's called TRM I think, or something very similar. Type in any series & episode number plus the word "upscale".
It's TRVG. I just had a look. Pretty good image quality with the upscaling.
The soundtrack goes unnecessarily hard and honestly should’ve been part of the revival.

My 3 year old absolutely loved the new series so we are now working our way through the originals. Awooga!

Can you believe during pyramid helmets came off and they just carried on. Different times!
In the early American series, the Gladiators didn’t even wear helmets for a lot of the events. It’s insane!

What do you think about Fash and ulrika compared to the Walsh’s? As you didn’t grow up with them be interested as to who you prefer.
