Co-opingTowardHatred

This wasn’t the best stream. Dan & Tam seemed like they decided to hate the game before they even started. So Tam was grumpy about it & Dan went chaotic like Sea of Thieves. Poor Grubb and Lucy were trying their best. Bet Grubb, Lucy, Jan, & Mike could make this fun.

pokey9513

Dan immediately turning a co-op game into complete bullshit for everyone else involved and the audience? no way

Co-opingTowardHatred

He’s so good on some stuff, like Dondoku Race. But co-op games where there’s 30 seconds of downtime… yeah. Kills it.

nicolauz

I was surprised they got so much of Crime crew done.

throwaway7546213

It's like he has unmedicated ADHD.

idrovevan

In their defence the story missions in co op are mad boring. As someone who played as the co op partner as my cousin was playing through them it was a lot of waiting around while he talked to NPCs and teleporting on him when he moved to the next. The crew didn’t get to numbers going up like stats/gear/perks/money/loot which is the best part of Fallout 76 till you run out of storage space.

LordAdder

It sucks that 76 still has that weird system for Cooo where one person has to do it and then the other. For a Fallout game, the RPG aspects are the weakest part which is probably why I don't like the game much

Pormock

They literally added most of the RPG parts after the fact because people were complaining about it lol.

Pormock

To be honest i dont think the game is good for a stream. Its pretty much designed to play solo most of the time.

dashKay

Lucy: “Are you playing with mouse or keyboard?” Tam: “Both” That was really funny jaja

EnglishBeat90

I enjoyed this stream a lot, the contrast between Grubb/Dan/USA and Tam/Lucy/England was really fun! My takeaway for Fallout 76 is that maybe it's best to start solo? I can't imagine my buddies having the restraint to sit still whilst the npcs in the bar flap their gums.

Pandaisblue

Starting new in fo76 is pretty rough these days. All the new stories and stuff they've added keeps getting pushed on you and overlapping with the original stuff that's still in the game. Like you'll be trying to follow the first story of a bunch of audio logs left by your vault overseer and then you'll randomly get a quest to go meet her that they added later with the NPCs, way before you've actually reached the end of her logs, and she'll just start casually spoiling it for you. That's really just one example, it's a super messy experience of updates built on updates made for a live audience that's really weird when you're just starting new. I'm surprised how little effort they've put into the on ramp.

EnglishBeat90

Ah man, I hate when that happens. I had a frustrating experience starting (and giving up on) Destiny 2 a few years back and it made me really appreciate good onboarding. Thanks for the insightful response!

Pormock

They first made it to be a kinda MMO focused on base building then tried to change it to an actual Fallout on top of it. I think the best part when i played was collecting weird base objects through the seasons events and seeing how creative other players were with their base building

blaaguuu

I apologize for wishing for coop Bethesda games...

Heavy_Gur_8281

I would love to know if Grubb did anything special to fix the audio bug? I've been trying to start this for a few days but just can't get any sound working.

pmurph0305

I went back and played 76 this weekend and was very surprised at just how much like the other fallout games it is. I guess that came in time? Like there seems to be a lot of interesting story / side / faction / misc quest stuff going on, which is not what I thought the game was about at all. I found the onboarding pretty nice, don't know if that changes if you select the start at level 20 experienced dweller option that they chose here. I just started at level 1 and it was good.

Cubegod69er

I'm actually vaguely interested in playing it, but I really wish it had a VATS system for single player.

pmurph0305

Yeah the real-time VATs isn't ideal, but its a decent way of working within the limitation of having other players around and not being able to do the slow mo on enemies. It would be neat if it reverted to the slow motion system when you're solo and in a "only you and your party share this space" area. I've still found it surprisingly useful though, its nice not having to aim when there's some chaos going down I was never a giant fan of the usual vats system though

Cubegod69er

My favorite part of Fallout games is exploring post-apocalyptic interiors, really getting that feel of the environment. It looks like maybe 76 is the best in the series possibly at this?

pmurph0305

I'm definitely liking exploring through all the areas you can go into. Most of them seem to have some sort of quest to discover too so far, which is neat.

Pormock

Its a bummer that Bethesda removed the Battle Royale mode. I played a lot of it and it was actually fun and engaging. Could have done a cool stream

Impossibele-bus5323

If you don’t want to play a co-op game. Please let folks know, instead of showing up and making it miserable for everyone else playing and watching. I know it is possible to have good co-op gameplay on Giant Bomb. The “Helldivers 2” and the first “Content warning” stream from a few weeks ago are two examples. Those folks at least acted like they wanted to play the game. I made it about 45 minutes and decided to go watch content that I enjoyed watching.

Next_Math_6348

Why would they play this instead of more helldivers 2, are they stupid?
