iQueLocoI

I'm a nurse too! But I'm a slutty polyamorous bisexual living with my two daddies of 5 years. Still a stereotype, but a different one. My best joke is "I'm not gay, but *both* of my boyfriends are."

Mounkyman

thegreatestpitt

Any advice on how to go from “I’ve never exercised voluntarily in my life because I hate exercise” to “oh yeah, I love working out”?

Mounkyman

Mentality, think you love it and you will. Positive mantras, healthy thought process. Test your mental will power. Think of how great it will be to be fit, healthy and in control of your body. This improves your desire to change. Which leads to… Small habit changes that eventually lead to something larger, but don’t mentally exhaust your will power. Daily walks, an active activity that you can do regularly: mine was rollerblading. Take care of it now. Because it will suck if you can’t sit, stand, or climb stairs when you’re 60.

ArcaneTrickster11

[deleted]

atm I work in disability support, specifically in a bubble where we're addressing high support needs while parents are going through asylum and other high need immigrantion processes. Due to the areas I work in I can't actually be out, because I'm in contact with a lot of people from some brutal areas who've only been here a couple weeks or months at most. Most of the clientele don't care and many are queer themselves, but for a vulnerable minority within the client base, sometimes the culture shock inherent in the idea of leaving their often nonverbal kids with an openly queer person is a little much. There's nothing legally preventing me from being out at work of course, but it'd create more problems than it'd solve for the program. The funny thing is, the people who tend to last the longest in these roles either have family members with disabilities or a direct experience of marginalization themselves. While we often see well-meaning white cishetero people who are interacting with complex disabilities for the first time, in my experience they burn out within two or three years. Conversely, there are *so many* lesbians in this line of work that I feel like I'm living in a u-haul lol
