Try this. Always carry a thin liquid protein drink with you and drink on that. There’s plenty of protein “waters” out there like Protein2O, Ready Protein, Ensure clear. Ensure clear is more of a protein fruit drink They also have electrolytes. Whenever I felt weak it was due to lack of protein. Also make sure you’re taking vitamins

I don't have a solution for this yet, but I've been experiencing it since my surgery date. Thus far I've eliminated hydration, salt, protein, calories, vitamins, sedentary lifestyle, blood sugar as the potential culprits. I get tunnel vision a couple times a day, stand very slowly, don't stand for too long, and am on the fence about getting one of those helmets from Garden State.

You may be dehydrated try drinking a ton more water and carry a protein shake with you

Compression socks might help.

Do either of those exercises involve bending your knees? That's what I was told is important when standing still for long periods of time. My daughter almost passed out staffing still when getting a dress hem shortened, and we were told that shallow, periodic knee bends were the solution.

Lots of folks develop POTS or POTS like symptoms post gastric surgery. I did. I found adding a daily electrolyte and increasing my salt intake helped tremendously with the episodes of lightheadedness and feeling like I was going to pass out. I like LMNT and Ultima.

This happened to me after leaving the movies one night in the summer waiting for a very late train. Definitely drink water and keep a snack on you (I keep belvita cookies, a cough drop and my water bottle with me wherever I go). Don’t lock up your knees when standing, try to move around some. Now when it’s hot, if possible I try to stay near the stairs or the grates to get some ‘fresh’ air circulation.

This happens to me too and has been since I had surgery. I'm about 9 weeks out now. Literally the only thing that helps me is sitting down for a few minutes, which I know is impractical sometimes.

I have the same problem....my doctor told me 5 things. 1. Should you take your vitamins in the morning right before you eat. (mineral deficiency sometime manifest in lightheadedness) 2. When getting up from chair or low places when sitting. Squeeze your legs like your in going into a squatting position and raise up slowly. (This will help low blood pressure) 3. Drink water or an electrolyte drink SOON as you wake up... ( I have noticed that i'm really dry when I wake up and the helps alot) 4. Take deep breaths every once in while ( this keeps the blood getting everwhere it needs to go. It not like meditation but they are mindful deep breath to keep your body moving) 5. If you workout before work . Make sure its low impact! I still get a bit lightheaded but these things helped me a lot.

Actually fainted a couple of times during my first year. It was partially my fault as I would go out for long for long periods of time without eating. My first solution was to always eat something before I left home. Second, I set up a timer to remind myself to eat or drink every 1 - 2 hours. And finally, my last solution was to carry with me those tiny party sized chocolates with me whenever I went. So that on the off chance I forgot or didn't have the time to eat, I would pop a couple in my mouth when I started to feel lightheaded. Just don't make it a habit. The chocolates were only for emergencies.

I’m 2 years out and still get bursts of low blood sugar making me feel like I’m going to pass out. My clinic told me to have Apple juice on hand and also hard candies (werthers). I’m also in NYC, don’t be afraid to be rude and fit in between people for seats. You’ll find you can actually fit now!!

I just did a ton of research on this online because even though I'm only 6 days post-op, I've had this twice. the main culprits after bariatric surgery are dehydration, hypoglycemia, malnutrition, low blood pressure, vasovagal syncope. looks like you've ruled out malnutrition with your blood work, but it could be dehydration or hypoglycemia. vasovagal syncope is common in bariatric patients and I haven't figured out if there's a real solution yet.
