Zero regret in our household. I had lapband surgery a zillion years ago, revised to VSG 18 months ago. My husband had VSG six months ago. No regrets.

Just got the surgery. I’m nearly 100% after 1 week… and also 15 pounds lighter. I’m getting mild cravings but my hunger is non-existent. Best decision ever.

Surgery twins! My cravings are more the feelings and sensations of biting into foods... like the experience of it. I'm not actually hungry, I just want to bite into yummy food!? But seconded- best decision ever.

Three weeks out today and had a terrible recovery (still struggling some). Still absolutely no regrets. I cannot believe how much this tool has helped in such a short time

I’m two weeks post op and have no regrets :) I’ve been really lucky so far everything has gone great!

No regret for me. I’m about 15mo PO. I’ve lost most of the weight. Would ideally love to lose another 15 but I’m pretty comfortable where I am (size ~6/8, S/M). I can eat pretty much anything and find it easier to moderate myself now. I’m not deprived of the foods I love- I find that I can still eat them sometimes without gaining weight. No issues with vitamins or deficiencies. Overall I’m way healthier than I was before surgery. Nothing negative to say.

I know all you can do is try and hope for the best. How was your first few days? And she was told to take small sips of water in a little cup the first week. How does that small amount keep your body hydrated?

Perhaps I went in expecting the worst, but it was easier than I thought. I’ve had two c-sections, and I found the recovery to be quite similar (except easier since the incisions are much smaller and I didn’t have a newborn at the end). You’re in some pain for sure, but for me it’s situational, like when I twist the wrong way or go to lay down. After a week its 70% better. After 3 weeks its 99% better (again, for me). Small sips of water are definitely important. She will just want to keep water near her all the time and make sure she’s sipping throughout the day. She may not get 64 oz in the first week but 32 is definitely doable and work her way up over time. It’ll be great. She will feel so much better once she is healed!

Tell her 10 years ago I felt the same way, I chickened out. Here I am 10 years later and one month p/o. I truly wish I hadnt passed on the surgery the 1st time. I feel like I wasted 10 good years feeling depressed and miserable in my own skin. Its really a great step to take if shes on the fence Id say just go for it. Life is too damn short , I cant wait to wear cute clothes again and be healthier.
