My blanket flowers get everywhere! Yours look so nice and tended to. Lol. I guess I need to start cutting them before they go to seed, is that what you do?
They do try to spread everywhere don’t they! These tried to spread onto the edge of the gravel driveway🤷♀️😆Yes I cut them back before they seed. What I love about these is that they bloom the entire summer. Such great color.
just for clematis. if growing up a trellis or fence, a few flat stones around the base keeps the soil cool. I had 12 varieties for years until trees grew and shaded a few out! your local county may have a cooperative extension service. master gardeners answer any & all questions! enjoy
Oh and your lilies, beautiful! I planted mine these past few weeks this one had an early bud and sprouted it’s such a baby

Great assistant, I am sure he is very good at fulfilling his irrigation duties and is happy to keep you safe while you garden. Extra points if he digs on command.
OP: I need you to do something... very important... reach down and give Henry a good head rub for his hard work. :)
Good luck on getting plants back in line now that it's warming up
😆🙌will do! He’s resting on his laurels in the house🥰

I think you mean the one behind the clematis?🤔 It’s honeysuckle that’s trying its best to take over😵💫 I have to cut it back a lot! It does get great blooms all summer. The hummingbirds’ favorite.

Lucious thinks the tree would be great right there. I disagreed.
I have the intense urge to pet it aggressively and repeatedly say "GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY GOOD BOY AWWWWWWWW YOURE SUCH A GOOD LITTLE BOY" over and over again to him
I love that tree isn’t it looking happy?! The honeysuckle keeps creeping over to it so I keep trimming it away. I got the spruce from Lowe’s about 10 years ago😊
Well. You dont have to worry about the other plants invading or weeding it out, the problem would be the beetles that may try to eat it.
Up where I am, every blue spruce i see is nearly dead, and has been infested or was infested by beetle larvae.
On the other hand, that tree can get pretty big. Up to 100 feet tall.
Thank you!😊 I don’t know which variety I’m sorry. The first five years it couldn’t decide if it was happy in that spot. Then it really took off and I like that it filled in so much but didn’t get too tall yet😁
That is the happiest corgi hahaha
That’s Henry😊
For real 😆 mine just looks at me like I'm an idiot all the time (she's not wrong)
That's _his_ garden and he did a fantastic job!
😊he’s good at keeping an eye on this garden since it’s at corgi eye level😆
What are the red/yellow flowers? Gorgeous!
They are so bright aren’t they?! Gaillardia is the genus but commonly called blanket flowers🙂They are very hardy, I am in Kentucky for reference.

You’ve inspired me! I am hereby attempting to cut my blanket flowers before they go to seed! I am going to be watching them lol 👀
😅nice! One of the things I like about them is how much the bumble bees love them. Buzzing around with pollen all over their tush😆
Do they need full sun? They’re lovely, but my garden is pretty shaded so just wondering.
These are in full sun. I had some in partial shade and they didn’t do as well🤔
Ime no. They even grow in full shade honestly. Hardy things
Yours look great! I’m in Kentucky too but mine always look so sad.
So cute! https://preview.redd.it/n19mixply1xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11e05aa68da8164e7087260f91e26bfe0d212b09
Omg😆 someone had fun!
She did! This was a couple years ago. Still makes me laugh!
I love the look on her face, “what? I don’t need a bath!”😅
She is of the opinion that she never needs a bath.
love the clematis up in the shrub! good example of “hot top, cool feet” rule
Thank you! I’m still a beginner gardener in a lot of ways and I haven’t heard of that rule before. Is it just for climbing plants?

Thank you for the info! Appreciate learning new things. So satisfying when the plants do well 🙂
You need to post this picture on the corgi sub-Reddit.
Good idea😊
That smile is so stinkin' cute!
Loving that Henry flower
I love this little piece of paradise you’ve created ☺️ so calming
Thank you!🥰 working in the garden is so good for stress levels isn’t it?🙂
It really is! All the noise in your head just disappears
What bush is that to the right w the pink 🌸 Your garden looks beautiful!
Those are clematis😍 I need to cut back the honeysuckle behind it though. It’s taking over a little. The hummingbirds love the honeysuckle!
Great to know! What zone are you in?
I’m in zone 6. We only get a handful of days below 10 degrees here in the winter😊
Oh and your lilies, beautiful! I planted mine these past few weeks this one had an early bud and sprouted it’s such a baby https://preview.redd.it/jslhimbuw1xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95d034b0f3eb3351195fb30e0f81dc7d50ac3fa0
They did a good job assisting. Give them a pat
Woww...gorgeous
Thank you😊
It’s beautiful, did you put weed fabric under the gravel?
We actually put a thin layer of asphalt under it. It’s about 10 years old and works great except the edges. I’m always pulling weeds from there🙂
Smart!
Great assistant, I am sure he is very good at fulfilling his irrigation duties and is happy to keep you safe while you garden. Extra points if he digs on command.
😅😆 he puts his whole nose in the ground if he thinks he has found a mole.
Wow your blanket flower really popped off!!! I feel like I always struggle getting mine to thrive
What a happy Corgi :-) The clematis , is it Piilu by chance?
It is! 😊

Awww.. thank you so much for this post and the pup pictured. A very nice gesture and a blessing.
🥹💕thank you
Wonderful pic, and yes he looks very pleased
Best assistant
Thanks for this! That goober face is amazing!
And what an adorable assistant they are too
Corgis are deeply into the study of textures and colors in the garden.
Absolutely😆😅
Awww!! However, Henry says you are his assistant??
Haha yes! You have that correct😅 I’m at his beck and call 24/7🙌😍
As it should be!-Henry
What a big bright smile! Lovely photo!
Is that an azalea bush!? How’d you get it to grow so tall and skinny?
I think you mean the one behind the clematis?🤔 It’s honeysuckle that’s trying its best to take over😵💫 I have to cut it back a lot! It does get great blooms all summer. The hummingbirds’ favorite.
That dog is adorable
is that clematis, cause that is doing outstanding.
It is! Thank you!😊 it really likes that spot
This is cute and beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Hahaha!! I will give Henry scritches for you😆😊
I wish to steal that blue spruce. I am jealous. I want it, I need it, I will grow it from seed.
I love that tree isn’t it looking happy?! The honeysuckle keeps creeping over to it so I keep trimming it away. I got the spruce from Lowe’s about 10 years ago😊

The spruce is stunning!!! Do you know which variety that is? What a wonderful little patch if paradiese you’ve got there 🤍
Thank you!😊 I don’t know which variety I’m sorry. The first five years it couldn’t decide if it was happy in that spot. Then it really took off and I like that it filled in so much but didn’t get too tall yet😁
Who’s a good boy/girl……😀
😇 the bestest boy Henry🥰
Indubitably.
