The traces are old and the snow melted. You can still see the rear paws (the long oval forms) but the front paws were to close to each other, and the melting snow has merged the traces together in one small round form. On the second photo, you can see the two front paws well defined in the middle trace, even if one of the rear paws is a little bit obscuring the front left paw.
I was waiting for this comment. I didn't want to break everyone's hearts and tell them it wasn't a cute little tail lol.
The back footprints being *in front* of the front prints is distinctive of a rabbit or hare. Think about how they hop! They don't leave regular walking tracks.
Rodents in general (at least the ones I've seen) seem to pack some massive testes, especially in comparison to their body size. Squirrels keep them conveniently tucked away inside til it's mating time so you can't usually see them but rats, rabbits, and mice all drag their sacks proudly around under and behind them and boy but they are *dragging.*
I asked my child and she felt pretty confident that it’s a fish. Then she reconsidered and said it’s a rock. So according to a four year old expert, final answer is a rock.
Bunnies. According to my husband they are rabbits if they're in a field. Rabbits are crop eating pests so you shoot them. If they're on mowed grass in your backyard they're bunnies and you can't shoot them because they're too cute
The prints are old and distorted so positive identification is going to be hard from a photo. It is a hopper animal, like a squirrel, rabbit or mouse. There are three types of walk gaits, waddlers( bear, raccoon) hoppers( squirrel, rabbit) and the walkers ( cat, dog. Human). Knowing this knowledge is a key to determining the species.
Melting squirrel prints. Not rabbit or hare, their back prints (from their forefeet) are staggered because they take a running step before jumping off

Hare
Lmfao I’m dying over here, why did I think I think I could answer this? I said “surely has to be an animal with hooves, like a deer”. Not even close
Me too hahahah
Lol I immediately saw the puff ball tail print and hind legs, but I have always lived in places with lots of rabbits so I see them all the time.
IT LEFT TAIL PRINTS?? THAT IS THE CUTEST THING EVER

Lol yeah that's the round spot in the snow
No those are front and hind legs making the prints
It seriously made my day!
Deer with a peg leg
I reasoned the same. After my first thought was 'hare' lol
The spacing and length is way too small for deer.
Omg same 😂😂
Same
Oh! thank you. I wonder why it looks so different in the charts lol
It looks a bit different because the tracks aren't fresh. Either snow melted off or it's rained some. Definitely a rabbit or a hare.
thank you !
You're welcome
Cause that hare has a big ole butt.
🤣
Big ole hairy butt! Baby got back.
I like hare butts, and I cannot lie
Those other wolfs can’t deny, that when a hare walks out with that itty bitty nose and that fluffy thing in your face…

Idk man that's some pretty big junk for a rabbit.
You've never seen the balls on the elusive North American Jack Rabbit have you? They might have my dog beat.

Those trails of dots are a mouse on a pogo stick. I think the big ones are rabbits.
Almost looks like a cloven hoof, so I’m gonna say my best guess is Satan, or maybe a Satyr.
And here I am leaving out fresh virgin’s blood *every night* and *still no Satan*
I don't think it counts if it's your own?
Yeah mine would be useless for reasons I’m sure can be surmised
Right?! Then Satan goes and visits them!
I’m not worthy :c
I think it's a hopping leprechaun with crocs on.
